Overjoyed to share our O level results that were announced in January 2022; we obtained 100% result with 4.11 GPA. Our students had put a tremendous amount of effort in their studies and once again made us immensely proud.
BSTRG continues its tradition of maintaining high results by obtaining the highest GPA in Biology across the northern region in 2021. Our heartiest congratulations are extended to Ma’am Erum Arif on her students’ remarkable performance. This would not have been possible without her consistent efforts and guidance.
Kashmir Day, also known as 'Youm-e-Yakhjehti-eKashmir' has been observed in Pakistan on February 5th, since 1990, as a day of protest against Indian control of part of Kashmir. At BSTRG we made sure our students were aware of the importance of this day. Classes delivered inspiring and informational speeches and highlighted concerns around the issue. Students displayed their creativity by designing posters and putting them around the school, spreading the message of hope and sacrifice. Some students prepared a short role play to shed some light on the lives of the Kashmiri people.
#BreakTheBias On March 8th, BSTRG celebrated international women’s day to raise awareness against gender bias. Our headmistress delivered a special message to the students and our senior Urdu teacher, Mrs. Zaidi, shared her valuable experience with the girls. Our girls showed great enthusiasm by taking part in an assembly portraying women in all her magnificent roles. The students enacted roles of a doctor, teacher, soldier, housewife, businesswoman and lawyer. Staff was presented with cards and flowers by the students; everyone was involved in spreading the message of women empowerment.
23rd March, 1940 was the day of hope and determination for thousands of Muslims of the subcontinent, who gathered at Minto Park, Lahore to pass a resolution for a separate homeland. To mark the importance of this historic day, students sang national songs and delivered motivational speeches to immerse themselves in the moment. Staff also got caught up in the moment and joined in the singing, waved flags and celebrated with the students, much to their joy.
Do you know what my favourite part of the game is? The opportunity to play – Mike Singletary It is hard to deny that sports, whether team based or individual, can have lots of positive impacts on children. It is understood that participation in sports can aid physical and social development, contribute to academic success and help nurture a child’s selfesteem – to name but a few. On March 2, 2022, BSTRG organized a day filled with energetic games that the students enjoyed immensely. Team spirit was displayed in tug of war, net ball, dodge the ball, badminton and football. The teams cheered as the participants put all their energies into the games.
In order to highlight our rich culture, Beaconhouse School System celebrated Cultural Week across all branches during the month of April. At BSTRG, we gave our students the opportunity to portray our traditional side through vibrant dresses, folk dances, singing songs; long forgotten by most. Students also invited the staff members and peers to sample the traditional cuisine of our different provinces. The students were able to express themselves and appreciate ‘unity in diversity’.
As part of the Cultural Week, celebrated across Beaconhouse Schools during April, BSTRG highlighted the importance of reviving our traditional sports. Our students took part in a range of cultural sports that are not remembered or cheered often. Games like Bole Meri Machli, Kikli, Kokla Chupaki, Beech ki Billi, among others were thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
You are never a loser until you quit – Mike Dikta It was great to see our students perform exceptionally well while competing against students from Potohar Campus–Girls, on February 18, 2022. Armish Khan of class X-M and Mahnoor Naveed of class IX-M did not give up without a fight and played their best up to the last moment. Team BSTRG was the runner-up of the game.
Cold winter evenings beg for events that bring togetherness, warmth, and shared food and drinks. It is the only season where you can thoroughly enjoy a bonfire. BSTRG understands the importance of such gatherings and is proud to host bonfire nights that the students eagerly look forward to. On February 17, 2022, students enjoyed toasted marshmallows, scrumptious food and karaoke with their friends. But it was the senior mistress who stole the show by surprising her students with her melodious voice.
Leaving high school is both an ending and a beginning; students have so many cherished memories that the farewell is often filled with emotional moments. We were fortunate enough to hold a farewell for this year’s outgoing batch on March 2, 2022. Our headmistress shared her sentiments with the students and gave them some valuable advice for their future endeavours. Students were awarded titles; while Waila Asif was declared as ‘lady of the evening’. The evening ended with a delightful meal.
Variety of clubs takes place every academic year at BSTRG. Students are able to take part in a club of their choice; at the end, they showcase their learning and creativity to their parents and peers. Students actively participated in the club culmination, organized on April 1, 2022. They prepared their own stalls and displayed their talent. The stitching club set up a make shift sewing room adorned with rugs, crocheted pouches, handmade cushion covers and wall hangings. Cooking club tantalized parent’s taste buds by presenting a variety of delicious cakes, savory items and dainty sandwiches. First aid club displayed their life saving techniques, the gardening club gave away home grown herbs and the photography club presented professionally clicked photographs. Literary club students were an asset to their team conducting role plays.
The International Kangaroo Linguistic Contest and the International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest were successfully conducted at BSTRG. Our students of classes 6-7 participated and exhibited a competitive show of good language and Mathematics skills. These contests added to their exposure. IKLC and IKMC results were announced in April and May, respectively. The participants were awarded with the badges and certificates.
On March 3, BSTRG held a face-to-face parent-teacher conference to discuss the progress of our students. It was promising to see how full of appreciation the parents were for the entire teaching faculty and management. Teachers went out of their way to discuss specific needs of different students so no child is left behind.
On April 29, 2022, we had a little celebration on account of Eid-ul-Fitr. Students and staff members participated in henna application and exchanged greetings. To add more colour to our moments, small Eid tokens in the form of bangles were distributed among staff members.
BSTRG acknowledged the hard work of both staff and students in a prize distribution ceremony held on June 9, 2022. Parents were invited to the ceremony to celebrate their child's achievements. The headmistress praised the students and staff, acknowledging efforts from all sides including parents. Students received shields and certificates highlighting their achievements.
