Dear Parent, Another majestic end to a hectic session filled with academics, sports and co-curricular activities. There were many firsts in this session. World Scholar's Cup was hosted in Karachi for the first time by Jauhar Campus and received an over whelming response. Now, 05 students for Malaysia and 04 students for Barcelona from our . Campus are ready to fly to compete in the Global Round. We wish all of them, the Best of Luck! Our students participated for the first time in a volunteer program at SIUT and Community Service Project Adopt . a Park. For the first time focused subject based workshops were organized by Alevel for O'Level students. Three of our students Hassaan Asad, Ibad Khan and Bisma Sawal represented Jauhar Campus in Regional sports events. Several of our teachers were sent for CAIE workshops and underwent In- House trainings. Here, I proudly want to share that Our Senior Mistress of the O'level Section, Ms. Sana Fatima completed Diploma in Teaching & Learning Course of CAIE with distinction, while our School Coordinator is currently enrolled in the same . course. We would also like to give our heartfelt thanks to our respected parents for their continued support. Their feedback in notifying both our strengths and our areas for development has greatly helped in determining the . way forward for us. I would like to end with the prayer that all our senior classes perform well in Matriculation and CAIE and make their parents and School proud. Participation in Community Service Project organized by IBA and Hoga 'Saaf Pakistan' (Dettol) at Safari Park as a Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive (All 9th Grade Participated) BSS Jauhar Campus volunteered for Adopt A Park Drive in liaison with IBA and Hoga 'Saaf Pakistan' in fulfilling its commitment to become better, more responsible and ethical individuals. Students did a plantation and cleanliness drive along with students of other schools across town at Safari Park and took ownership of one designated area. We are proud of our 63 student volunteers and staff members.

Participation in all four categories at Technopreneur 2018 hosted by BSS North Nazimabad Cambridge with top position in the Game Development Category from 55 teams 55 teams from over 10 schools took part in the first Technopreneur 2018 hosted by BSS North Nazimabad Cambridge Campus. Brilliant efforts were made by Sanya Muhammad in Web designing, Abeer and Sameer-Squared in Motion Control through sensors and our winning team in the Game Development Category - Fazeel Khan, Washam bin Adnan and Zabiullah Zahir. A huge shout out to them.

SPEED TEST-INTERNAL Cambridge students who are all set to appear in their CAIEs 2018. The passing out batch also participated in the school's internal Speed Test in order to prepare better for the upcoming regional speed test and taste the flavour of what's expected there. The speed test was conducted for Math, Physics, Chemistry, Bio, Economics and Accounts. The winners of the internal speed test are: Shayan Ali Javed XI-A in Biology Haiyan Khawaja XI-B in Principle of Accounts Shayan Ali Javed XI-A in Chemistry MaryanTauqeer XI-C Physics Shayan Ali Javed XI-A Mathematics Nabiha Ali XI-B Economics

THE ANNUAL SPEED TEST 5.0 The Annual Speed Test 5.0 was a race against time! Cambridge students were required to attempt 30 multiple choice questions in 30 minutes for different subjects. Beaconhouse students all-over the region attended the Speed Test on April 17th, 2018 at the Marriott Karachi. Haiyan Khawaja of class XI-B Cambridge made us proud by winning 2nd position in the Mathematics test.

FAREWELL Every exit is an entrance to new beginnings and better tomorrows. Our graduating batch of 2018 was not only a batch of 100+ students but parts of our extended families, the students will all be sorely missed. From the madness of students to their sense of respect, from their failures to their achievements, each one of us own every single thing, the smiles, laughers, joys you spread throughout and that is why beyond doubt, you will be a special batch. To put this beautiful journey to a closure, Grade X Cambridge and Grade IX Matric hosted a rendezvous on the 19th of April, 2018 at the Celebrations Banquet, Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The hosting students cheered, cherished their old memories, danced, enjoyed food with seniors and bid farewell to school by presenting beautiful titles to them while the passing out batch presented wonderful titles to their beloved teachers.

EUREKA 2018 (BRAND REPOSITIONING ACTIVITY) HOSTED BY BEACONHOUSE DEFENCE CAMPUS Our future entrepreneurs of Cambridge section at Jauhar Campus are always set to take up challenges of life. The Eureka competition was held at Beaconhouse Defense Campus, organized by the IB students in which O/A levels students in groups from all-over Karachi participated to showcase their business skills. The task given to all groups was to reposition an existing brand. Our students repositioned the brand 'Sting' and made us immensely proud by being the winners of the competition!

CRAZY DAY Crazy for the outgoing batch of BSS has been a tradition in campuses all across. The outgoing batch of Jauhar Campus dressed crazily on the RETRO theme and enjoyed the madness of the day with their fellows and teachers.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY International Women's Day is annually held on March 8th, 2018 to celebrate women's achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for women's right and achieving international Peace. Cambridge students of Grade IX paid a tribute to all the beautiful women out there by delivering motivating speeches to the audience and also by interviewing their headmistress and teachers to share their thoughts on gender equality. The presentation was immeasurably appreciated by everyone in the crowd.

FLY AUSTRALIA MOVIE MAKING CAMPETITION Senior Section students participated in an international video making competition. The video was based on cyber crime and invasion of privacy. It depicted how networking with the right people helps an individual survive in a world where deceit through e-sources is taking over. The following students participated in the video making competition: Emaan Nasir, Zabiullah Zahir and Fazeel Junaid.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES A sport not just energizes your body but also rejuvenates your mind! At Beaconhouse School System, we give our students, numerous opportunities to prove their athletic skills. Our senior school students participated in the following Intra-region sports tournaments: Intra-region Badminton Tournament Intra-region Table Tennis Tournament Intra-regional Basketball Tournament

INTER-REGIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT (REGIONAL) The Basketball Inter-region tournament was held in Lahore. Our sporty students Bisma Sawal of class IX-A Cambridge and Hassan Asad of class XI-C Cambridge went to compete with the central region in March 2018. We are proud to announce that both of them won bronze medal for Jauhar Campus.

REGIONAL DRAMA FESTIVAL 2018 The importance of drama and performing arts alongside academics holds its due significance. Performing arts enhances both verbal and non-verbal expression of ideas. It improves facial expression, dialogue delivery, articulation and tone of speech. Students from the Cambridge Section participated in an Inter-Regional O'level Drama festival held on February 15th, 2018 at Bahria Auditorium. To appreciate and acknowledge the efforts of the students, a star-studded panel of judges from dramatics field Mr. Asif Raza Mir, Dua Malik, Gazala Javaid and Bilal Khan were invited at the event. Our young actors also presented their acting skills and outshone their competitors in the following categories: 1- Hassaan Asad (XI-C) Best actor 2- Shiza Jawed (X-A) Best actress 3- Shiza Ashraf (X-A) Best supporting actress

WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP Beaconhouse School System has always been the forerunner in setting exciting trends in education. Hosting the World Scholars Cup for the first time in Karachi is another example of its focus on providing new avenues of learning to its students and the wider community. Beaconhouse School System, Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus, with its visionary leadership invited 400 students from 20 schools from all over Karachi to participate in the World Scholars cup 2018. This was an exciting, international competition celebrating learning and global citizenship aiming to inspire students of all academic and cultural . backgrounds to discover new strengths and practice diverse skills needed in the 21st century. Students at the Karachi Regional round became part of one of the 120 Regional rounds happening in over 70 countries across the globe. They were able to earn invitation to Global Rounds in Kuala Lumpur, Barcelona or Melbourne.

BONFIRE 2018 The senior school students of Jauhar Campus enjoyed their Bonfire party on a cold wintery evening and set the dance floor on heat to mark an exciting beginning of the new term! The night let students spend some time with smiles and enjoy delicious food with their friends and teachers.

YEAR-END PICNIC No year is complete without a refreshing break with friends who are no less than family. The students of grade 9 and 10 were taken to the serene environment of a farmhouse, where they not only had fun and made memories, but also had an interesting time exploring the simplicity of a farm life and its animals.

BON-VOYAGE CLASS OF 2018 A student spends almost 13 years of his life at school, and makes memories that last a lifetime. Our first batch of Cambridge is graduating this year. They had their official photography session, all uniformed one last time!

INTER-SCHOOL DECLAMATION CONTEST

HEART SAVER SESSION

Students of Grade XI participated in the Inter-School declamation Contest hos ted by the PE CHS Cam pus . Fazeel Junaid of XI-A and Hassan Asad of XI-C exhibited their public speaking skills beautifully and won the hearts of the audience.

March and April are celebrated as Heart Saver Months by International Heart Association and its International Training Centers globally. The College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSP) conducted an essential CPR session on April 25th, 2018 for students to help them to save life of people with heart attack and cardiac arrest. The team brought the latest training equipment like mannequins and provided demonstration. Students were also encouraged to perform the learned techniques on the mannequins. It was indeed a very informative training session for the young students.

GRADE VIII CAMBRIDGE ORIENTATION Students in their last year of Middle School are at a very crucial juncture where they have to make decisions which will impact them for the rest of their lives. Yes, the very important decision of choosing Cambridge or Matriculation stream along with the subject groups they will opt to study. Beaconhouse Jauhar campus supported its students and their parents by intervening in form of an Orientation Session where the HM, Ms. Nadia Rashid Inam, SM Ms. Sana Fatima and Cambridge team of BSS Jauhar campus presented guidelines, points to ponder while welcoming queries from parents and students for the School's Cambridge and Matriculation program. This session proved to be very helpful for students and their parents in making up their minds, for the selection of the system.
