Dear Parent, As we reflect at the end of each term, we always note how much has happened. This term has been no exception, and if anything, it has been one of our busiest and the best. Our staff has worked tirelessly, often going above and beyond expectations and it remains a privilege to work amongst such a talented and dedicated staff. Adding to that, many wonderful events have taken place as you have always been kept updated through our . facebook page. The first important highlight of this term is the outstanding CAIE result of our first batch . in which we got an overall GPA of 4.05. . Congratulations to Syed Shayan Ali on topping in Sindh and Balochistan in Biology! ORIENTATION FOR GRADE 9 PARENTS An Orientation session was organized in the beginning of the term which aimed at developing an understanding of the Cambridge System among students and their parents. Clubs and societies were also introduced by their respective club Incharges.
CAIE RESULT 2018 - A PROUD MOMENT! The first batch of Jauhar Campus has secured an incredible result in the CAIE's 2018 and was on top topped all the O level BSS branches in Karachi. It is indeed a moment of honour for the hardworking students, the supportive parents and the exceptionally committed staff. . Congratulations to all the candidates!
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS Mohammad Ali Jinnah said: “There is no power on Earth that can undo Pakistan� Independence Day was celebrated to commemorate harmony, freedom and prosperity with great fervour and national spirit. On this auspicious day, students performed thought provoking role plays, delivered spellbound speeches and sang heart warming national songs to revive the promise of fulfilling the dreams of our forefathers.

Defence day was celebrated by the students with full energy and enthusiasm. They showed their commitment and patriotism through performing in different categories like singing and debating.
GRADUATION CEREMONY 2018 ‘Life is a series of beginnings, not endings. Just as graduations are not terminations, but commencements' - Bernie Sie The Graduation ceremony of Matric Batch of 2017-2018 and our first batch of Cambridge was held on Thursday, 30th August at FTC Auditorium. Rafay Ahmad Javed and Sania Muhammad of class X-C Cambridge were the masters of the ceremony. Professor Dr. Nasim A. Khan SI(M) who has been a Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University and Nazeer Hussain University in Pakistan was the Chief guest. Regional Director South,Mr. Asim Yakub and Academic Manager School Group 3, Ms. Afshan Ali graced the event with their presence.
PARTNER SCHOOL PROGRAM BRITISH COUNCIL - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS Students from class IX Cambridge had a skype session with JAIN Public School on UN sustainable development goals 2020. The thematic umbrella for the discussion was to exchange information and activities on how the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2020 (SDG) was being approached at the school level. Students from both the schools exchanged innovative ideas through posters and presentations.

WELCOME PARTY There is nothing better than making each other laugh, waltz at favourite tunes and enjoy scrumptious meal together! To mark the beginning of the new session, a welcome party was organized for the students.
STUDENTS’ COUNCIL ELECTIONS The selection and election of the student council is one of the most real-life experience for students because it provides an opportunity to experience the “democratic process” in reality. A one week process for selecting the student -council was conducted in the first week of September 2018. Walls were decorated with brightly coloured posters, students demonstrated their support by wearing badges and headbands of favourite candidates. All students casted their votes on the Election day demonstrating sense of responsibility and confidence on choosing the candidate of their liking. We are pleased to announce the heads of the prefectorial council.

GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY The month of October once again resuscitated the importance of dignity in young minds. Global Dignity Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event highlighted the universal right of every individual to lead a dignified life. In order to ensure the prevalence of the same in our everyday life, students performed various role plays, panel interviewed the junior staff and gave vehement speeches emphasizing on the very essence of being human.

THE BEACON-PUBLIC SPEAKING FESTIVAL Student Leadership at The Beacon! Students of Grade X and XI participated in The Beacon-a public speaking festival hosted by the Beacon Debating Union along with many other schools.
EXCURSION TO DREAM WORLD Students spent a fun-filled day at the Dreamworld resort. They splashed in water, aimed during archery and enjoyed horse and boat riding!

VISIT TO THE NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR Beaconhouse National College Fair, held on 8th and 9th October at Beaconhouse PECHS Campus, Karachi, was a unique opportunity for our students to learn about the Beaconhouse Access Centre, Pakistan's largest university placement program. They also had the chance to interact with representatives of over 45 Universities from across the globe.
‘SPELL MASTERS’: 14th DAWN NATIONAL EDUCATION SPELLING BEE CONTEST In October 2018, Hadia Sabah of Grade XI, Syeda Zehra Haider of Grade X and Anoosha Ikram of Grade X(M) participated in “14th DAWN National Education Spelling Bee Contest”. They won the preliminary rounds and stood 4th among 27 schools of Karachi in the 14th Edition of the DAWN SPELLING BEE - .
BISC ALL THE WAY Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) envisions to bring our worldwide network of schools together to create a global community of students and teachers who can learn from one another. BISC CLICK...AN INCLUSIVE FUTURE (IF) Photograph taken by Zain Ali was selected for the National Round of BISC. His picture depicted how we are moving towards a future where there are equal opportunities for everyone.
BISC FILM FESTIVAL...AN EXPRESSIVE FUTURE (EF) Students of grade IX and X also made their remarkable contribution to the BISC SG Round. Following students primed a video regarding Expressive Future displaying their immense talent in the field of Media and Technology. BISC TALKS...A SYMBIOTIC FUTURE (SF) Grade IX students Saleh Narejo, Maira Nawab and Wajiha Abbas got opportunity to share their perceptions of the risks and benefits of Artificial Intelligence(AI) during the SGO round. Saleh Narejo represented Jauhar Campus in the Regional Round of BISC held at BSS PECHS Campus.
BISC-WISE (QUIZ) Students of Grade IX and X enthusiastically prepared for the General Knowledge Quiz. Laiba Sahi of Grade IX made it to the Regional Round held at PECHS Campus.
FOCUSED REVISION SESSIONS AND EXTRA SUPPORT CLASSES Our teachers are eager to provide extra support and assist students to elevate their grades. Focused revision classes for all subjects were conducted from October 08th till November 30th within school timings while extra support classes were held after school from the first week of November till 30th November to address our students' specific subject related needs and reinforce their concepts.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING Parent teacher meetings bring parents and the teachers on a common platform to work in collaboration for the betterment of their child. 1st PTM was held on September 29th 2018 where parents and teachers discussed the progress of the students.
TRAILBLAZERS 2018 ‘Trail Blazers' Ceremony' was organized to acknowledge the achievements of students in extracurricular activities at the Regional and National level. The event was held on Thursday, 30th August at FTC Auditorium. INTER SCHOOL DECLAMATION CONTEST Okasha Ali of Grade IX has won the Inter School Declamation Contest 2018-19 held on 22nd November 2018 at Chiniot Islamia Public School. More than 15 schools participated and BSS Jauhar Campus bagged the 2nd position in English Speech competition. Well done and keep it up!
INTER SCHOOL DECLAMATION CONTEST The National Space Agency of Pakistan celebrated World Space Week to celebrate science, technology and their contribution to the betterment of human conditions, from October 4 to October 10 2018. INTER-REGIONAL ONLINE COMPETITION Students of grade IX & X Matric participated in an Inter-Regional Online Competition “Animate your message”. The following students from Jauhar Campus bagged the first prize in the competition: Abdul Saboor, Jahanzaib Hassan,Hayyan Ahmad and Areeba Samad. The competition was judged by external judges Abrar Naeem and Ata Kirmani.

INTRA REGION BASKETBALL Boys from BSS Jauhar Campus participated in the Intra Regional Basketball ball tournament. We are pleased to announce that our boys bagged the 3rd position amongst 10 in the tournament.
INTRA REGION UNDER 15/17 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP Alishah Rashid of class 9 Cambridge received a gold medal in 100m race, and silver medal in 200m race. She also got the best athlete trophy in under 15 girls athletics. Malik Majeed got 2 bronze medals in 1500m and 800m race respectively Nisar Khan got gold medal in shot put.
SPORTS CARNIVAL-2018 Three of our students represented Beaconhouse Southern Region at the Beaconhouse Sports Carnival 2018 . held in Lahore. We are proud to announce their achievements in the following categories: Alisha Rashid: Gold Medal in 100m Race, Gold Medal in 400m Relay, Silver Medal in Shotput, Bronze Medal . in Long jump Ahmed Raza and Ebad Khan Third Position in Basketball. We take pride in announcing that Alisha Rashid will be representing Beaconhouse Southern Region in the Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) 2019 to be held in Dubai in January 2019.
SCHOOL OF TOMORROW - ‘WORLD OF TOMORROW REIMAGINED’ The School of Tomorrow (SOT) International Education and Cultural Festival 2018 hosted 100 local and International speakers and panellists featuring in some over 20 panel discussions featuring international and national experts from fields ranging from Architecture, Artificial Intelligence and Finance to education, art, law, governance and many more. It was held on 3rd and 4th November 2018, at the Beach Luxury Hotel. President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, graced the event by honouring us with his presence at . the Opening Ceremony. In addition, the festival featured a range of cultural activities including 'Full STEAM', a collection of multiple interpretations of artists, engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists to explore a spectrum of possible worlds in our future through the science of algorithms, the technologies of augmented and virtual reality, engineering of robotics and holography. The students who volunteered for the full steam exhibits were: Maira Nawab, Payoush Kumar, Saleh Narejo, Muskan Ali, Simal Asad, Hadia Saba, Rafay Jawaid, Shiza Jawaid and Sania Muhammad.
