I would like to take this opportunity to thank my teachers and students for all their efforts and tremendous support. It is really a moment of pride for us to get an outstanding result both in Matric Board and Cambridge International Examinations .With our aims high and heads down, I can see our school moving forward towards excellence and hope to achieve a remarkable and impressive result in 2020. . CAIE RESULTS BATCH OF 2019 Second CAIE result of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus was announced on August 13, 2019. Jauhar Campus secured the third highest GPA among all BSS Schools in the Southern region. It is indeed a moment of honour for the hardworking students, supportive parents and the exceptionally committed staff.

MATRICULATION RESULT BATCH OF 2019 Beaconhouse Jauhar Campus students have produced outstanding results in the Matriculation examination of 2019. Shahana Khan secured the top position at the school by obtaining 749/850 marks. Abeer Ejaz obtain ed 737/850 marks and Anosha Ikram obtained 735/850 marks respectively. Out of 86 students, 15 students scored A*s while 28 of them got A grades. We proudly congratulate our high achievers, their parents and our hardworking Matric teaching staff on this splendid achievement.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY 2018-2019 On August 07, 2019, Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus organized an event to honour our high achievers (Grade V-IX) at Bahria Auditorium, Karachi. The proud parents of proficiency holders graced the occasion as Chief Guests of the ceremony. Kudos to all the parents, teachers and students for putting in the hard work all year long!

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS Mohammad Ali Jinnah said: “There is no power on Earth that can undo Pakistan� Bursting with patriotic fervor the students of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus celebrated Pakistan's 72nd Independence Day at the school. Through speeches, tableau, cultural dances, mime and a panel discussion, the students showed that they were well aware of the history of their country and the efforts that had helped us gain Independence.

GRADUATION CEREMONY BATCH OF 2018-2019 On August 30, 2019, Beaconhouse Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus organized the Graduation ceremony of O-Level and Matric Batch of 2019. The event initiated with the faculty procession followed by awarding of gold, silver and bronze medals to the students.

LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATIONS Research Based Presentations Our senior students of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus made us proud by showcasing their intricate research skills in the library research-based presentation competition held during library week celebrations. To inculcate research skills, our senior section students carried out 'research-based presentations' on the topic; “Change in attitude will bring change in society”. LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATIONS Classical English Drama This year our senior school students proved themselves as Classical actors by acting out one of the most famous sword fighting scenes . of a Shakespeareian play “Hamlet”. Students of Beaconhouse College Campus Gulshan judged the performance of senior school students to appreciate the efforts of the students and awarded the categories of the Best Actor (Ibrahim Sheikh), Best Actress (Laiba Jameel) and Best Supporting Actor (Mustufaim) and Best Supporting Actress (Anabiah Arif). Truly marvelous, Indeed!

LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATIONS Urdu Bait Bazi The Urdu Bait Bazi competition was organised by the members of Urdu Club which proved to be an interesting and an intense affair. The participants had a cut-throat competition and enjoyed the event in its true essence. The elocutionists depicted skill of clear and expressive poetry, especially of distinct pronunciation and articulation. The participating teams were from X-Matric and X-Cambridge. The Cambridge team bagged the winning trophy and the winners were Saud Imran (X-E), Wania Tauqeer (X-E), Hasnain (X-E), Najmuz Zehra ( X-C), Fatima Khalid (X-A), Hasan (IX-D) . Congratulations to all the winners!

PREFECTORIAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS The selection and election of the Students’ Council is one of the most real-life experiences for students. All willing students submitted their nomination forms to be interviewed by the Senior teachers and Management, who shortlisted 12 best nominees for election of Heads of Students' Council. Walls were decorated with brightly colored posters, students demonstrated to showed their support by wearing badges and headbands of favourite candidates. We are pleased to announce the heads of the Students' Council. Saif Haider as Head Boy, Bisma Sawal as Head Girl, Maaz Mughal as Deputy Head Boy and Alisha Rashid Deputy Head Girl. Other contestants became part of Students' Council.

A GLIMPSE THROUGH THE SPORTS EVENTS In order to inculcate sportsmanship spirit and to give our students a chance to show their skills and enthusiasm, the senior school students participated in the following sport events during the term: . 1. Girls Basketball competition held at PAF Chapter. Our Senior school girls basketball team reached the Semi final round amongst 52 schools. 2. Girls Basketball held at Karachi Gymkhana. Our Senior school girls basketball team reached the Semi final round amongst 5 schools.

PARTICIPATION IN SHEHR E FUN AT GOVERNOR HOUSE The SHEHR-E-FUNN children's festival was organised from 26th - 29th September 2019 By Dawood Foundation and Pursukoon Karachi at the Governor House. The SOS club of the Senior Cambridge section collaborated with Dawood Foundation and six students participated in the program. The event was organized around three thematic areas: Build your home, Deconstructing Hazards @ Home, and Science of Signs. It was a free of cost, open for all event for public, families and children. Visitors were involved in interactive exhibits and games, and children were involved in fun learning games.

OWN A FOOTPATH - A PROJECT OF SUSTAINABLE OUTREACH SOCIETY On October 10th 2019, Members of the Sustainable Outreach Society of Senior section along with a team of teachers & support staff volunteered for 'Own A Footpath' clean drive in fulfilling its commitment to become better, more responsible and ethical citizens. This is just the first step towards the main goal. Sustainable Outreach Society intends to turn the footpath into a green belt in the coming months.

SAVING MANGROVES - SESSION BY TDF Mangroves have great contribution on the stability of the coastal areas of Pakistan and into the life of habitats residing there. There are the strangest inhabitants such as mudskipper, mollusks, migratory and indigenous birds including flamingoes seen at these coasts. The survival of this habitat is threatened due to the cutting and pollution created by residents and visitors. A documentary screening followed by Question and Answer session was conducted in school that was attended by the students of grade nine and ten along with the teachers. This session aimed to create awareness and promote information for pre serving our natura l heritage in collaboration with Dawood Foundation in August 2019.

GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY The Global Dignity Day was organised on October 16, 2019. There were three components to the celebration. First was the orientation to the Global dignity day. This was conducted in the morning where the Global volunteers conducted small group briefings and distribution of ribbons to students and teachers upon entrance to school. . Second: Registration for International Dignity day volunteers was opened for students and teachers of all classes. Third: Assembly presentation was conducted by grade IX and X students and the three Dignity ambassadors took the pledge in presence of all the school audience. . In follow up of the three components of celebration, a Digni-Tea fundraising was held during the school break and funds were raised for the education of the underprivileged. The amount collected from this event was donated to IDREES which is a student group running educational for less fortunate students at road side school.

BEACONHOUSE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CONVENTION Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) offers a unique experience to students: an opportunity to travel, meet and engage in competition with students from all over the world. This convention includes an amazing collection of sporting, art, science and cultural activities. Beaconhouse has successfully organized three editions of BISC so far, in Bangkok, Malaysia and Muscat.

Beaconhouse Idol: Regional Round of BISC Fantastic performances, beautiful vocals, and what voice control! Judges and audiences were both left stunned! After going through vigorous selection criteria in the cluster round; our students, Alisha Rashid and Hafsa left the audience enthralled with their melodious voice and got selected for the Lahore Round. They performed equally well in Lahore but unfortunately did not make up to the Manilla Round.

GUEST SPEAKER SESSION BY ENTREPRENEUR SOCIETY The 'Young Venturer Club' of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus, Senior Section organised a seminar on “Developing an Entrepreneurial . Mindset among Youth" The speaker for the seminar was Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Associate Professor & Director, Center for Entrepreneurial Development, . CED, IBA. It was a thoroughly enlightening and informative session for . the listeners. Dr. Shahid's expertise in addressing the different approaches of the entrepreneurial mindset was exceedingly cherished by all participants.

A MOVIE TRIP - EXCURSION Students went to Nueplex Cinema to watch a movie and enjoyed the trip thoroughly with their teachers and friends.

PARTICIPATION IN STEM OLYMPIAD - HELD AT DEFENCE CAMPUS 8 teams of Grade X and XI Cambridge studen ts from GJC part icipate d in STEM Olympiad - A Science Competition; organized by BSS IB Discovery Center. . Students got hands on experience in different rounds of each module. They used their critical thinking and problem solving skills to solve tasks in each category of Sciences, namely, Physics, Ch emistry, Bi ology and Co mputer Science.

INTERNATIONAL OZONE DAY International Ozone Day was celebrated at Jauhar Campus . on September 16, 2019. A formal assembly of the Senior School was held to reinforce what Ozone is and how it is depleted, its harmful effects and recommendations for adopting behaviors that will contribute to its healing by class Nine students. The presentation was followed by a speech on the Islamic perspective on “Responsibilities laid on mankind for sustaining and caring for resources bestowed by nature.� The assembly was followed by an interactive PPT presentation about International Ozone Day and students shared their reflections on the Ozone Board arranged in the school library.

PARTICIPATION IN BEC - HELD AT PECHS CAMPUS BEC (Beaconhouse Entrepreneur Challenge) was organized by Beaconhouse PECHS Campus. The contest had 40 teams altogether. Following students participated in the contest: Grade XI (Cambridge): Zabeeh Ullah, Urwa Junaid ,Aisha Raza,Hafsa Halim & Hasnain Ali. This event gave our students the confidence, a platform for public speaking and most importantly how to pitch, convince upon the idea as a team. 7

VISIT TO THE BEACONHOUSE NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR Beaconhouse National College Fair (BNCF) was organized on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Marriott Hotel, Karachi for A-Level and Grade-XI students of Cambridge stream. The fair includes participation from over 50 colleges and universities from Pakistan, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, UAE, Turkey, North Cyprus, Hungary and Malaysia. Senior school students of Jauhar Campus attended the fair along with their teachers.

SESSION BY FIRST RESPONSE INITIATIVE OF PAKISTAN (FRIP) association is run by young doctors and medical students who deliver workshops on basic first aid and lifesaving skills needed in various emergency situations. A carefully structured 5 Hours Workshop was organized for Jauhar Campus Senior Section students on Saturday 5th October 2019. The workshop was highly appreciated by the students and parents.

PARTICIPATION AT JCMUN - HELD AT JUBILEE CAMPUS Over the past three years, JCMUN has seen a great many students walk the halls of diplomacy, debating issues spanning regional as well as global conflicts. The ultimate objectives, however, have remained the same throughout time; to inculcate the spirit of teamwork, the supremacy of dialogue, the skill of negotiation, and the power of diplomacy. The following students participated in the MUN: Saud Imran,Noraan Amjad Khan, Mishal Fatima, Saleh Narejo, Ahmed Ali, Dua Ali, Aleem Raza, Rafay Ahmed Jawad.

PARTICIPATION IN 15TH SPELLING BEE The “15th Dawn Spelling Bee Competition 2019” was held on November 3rd, 2019 at Arts Council Karachi in the category of age group 9-11 and 12-14. Following students from the senior section participated and competed against 29 schools of Karachi: Shamvil Raza, Marium Waqar & Safia Musarrat. . It was indeed a great learning experience for them.

PARTICIPATION IN OBHARTAY SITARAY 2019 Obhartay Sitaray is a singing competition organised by The Citizen Foundation (TCF) a Non-Profit organization. Maham Shafaat, Hafsa and Alisha Rashid from Jauhar Campus competed amongst 64 teams representing different schools from all over Karachi.

HUMANS OF JAUHAR CAMPUS Anabiah Arif of BSS Jauhar Campus, X -Matric Section is a 15 Year old avid reader who aims to revive the culture of reading and writing in Pakistan. She has been running a blog and a book merchandise brand under the name “Team Book Cafe� for the past two years. She has over 16,000 followers on her Instagram and was awarded with the 'Best Start-up of Pakistan' award at Pakistan Digi Awards last year. Anabiah is also appointed by the British Council to conduct their book clubs. We are proud of our young entrepreneur and wish her all the best for her future endeavours. Iqra Arsalan: Time to glorify our sportful talent; Iqra Arsalan of class IX-F Cambridge participated in the cricket tournament organized by the Australian High Commission for Women Cricket in Pakistan. Iqra was selected as a guest player from Custom Cricket Academy. The event was held at State Bank Cricket Stadium. We are proud of this young Beaconite!

PARTICIPATION IN DECLAMATION CONTEST In remembrance of Army Public School incident 2014, a declamation contest (English) was organized by Pakistan Rangers Sindh- 'Shukriya Jinnah' on Friday 13th December 2019 at IBA Auditorium. The purpose of it was to engage our youth and enlighten them on Mohammad Ali Jinnah's vision on Pakistan. Mishal Fatima and Saleh Narejo from Cambridge section participated in the contest. Saleh bagged 3rd position and a cash price of Five thousand rupees. Likewise, an Urdu Declamation was organized by Happy Palace School. Our students Zehra Saman IX Matric and Shiza Amber XI Cambridge participated in the event.
