Beaconhouse school system, Qasimabad campus. (NEWSLETTER 2022) Dear Parents, It`s a matter of great pride and honor for me, the BCCQ was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades this year. Our campus had the highest university placements and the best overall result in Cambridge and Matriculation stream. I heartily congratulate the entire faculty, student body and the parents. We will continue to surpass our achievement and reach for the stars. I would also like acknowledge the efforts of our talented students, who designed and compiled this newsletter. Khudgarz-Concert for New year Our O level students wanted to end their term in a perfect way with a joyous gathering where there's good music, good food, and good company. And that was exactly what they got. Khudgarz band was booked for the night and they certainly gave a spectacular performance. They made the whole audience have an amazing time which they certainly will not forget any time soon. Teachers and pupils alike, lost themselves in the rhythm and swayed to the music. The blazing bonfires were like the cherry on top which provided warmth to everyone on the chilly December night. It was like the perfect way to end the night which gave everyone great memories. It was a wonderful way to end the semester and start a new term which boosted students' spirits to prepare for their upcoming CAIE examinations. Reported by Irtaza ALi

Kashmir Solidarity Day Kashmir Solidarity Day is a national holiday observed on the 5th of February. Accordingly, on the 5th of February 2022, Beaconhouse took its part in paying homage to the Kashmiris who had and continue to suffer and perish in the conflict. Students of class 9 watched a short documentary reporting the many atrocities unjustly committed by the occupying forces. It is necessary for us, as Pakistanis, to understand and educate ourselves about the inequitable acts of injustice and oppression occurring in Kashmir, and to display our open support and solidarity.


Additionally, a panel discussion was held on the impacts of lockdown that have grievously affected students, education, women, and healthcare services since August 2019. Such discussions are crucial among juvenile minds—it stresses the importance of awareness of current affairs.

Reported by Amal Abro Qasimabad Campus visited Expo 2022 in Dubai Expo 2022 Dubai is a festival of exchange of ideas, knowledge, and culture. For visitors from around the globe, there are numerous attractions, rides, and food. Students of Qasimabad Campus visited Expo 2022 in Dubai, this year. They met representatives of international companies across the world and explored their career prospects, for better education opportunities in the future. Panel discussion at BSS Nawabshah. To bring the students a chance of getting familiar with the stage, Beaconhouse was able to contain a collaboration with another campus to establish a panel discussion. The panel discussion held by the Beaconhouse School System managed to attain a great take on making the participants learn and acknowledge the art of public speaking. The discussion took place in Nawabshah Campus bringing the students from the two campuses, Nawabshah and Qasimabad, debate on the topic, “Does Social Media make people less socially active”. Through this event the students were able to acknowledge the many reasons why domination of social media in the daily lives of the students, and everyone else in the world is harmful. Simultaneously, they encountered another perspective of it being the sole reason for making people socially active. Through this activity, Beaconhouse was able to gain an excellent response from the audience. Reported by Yusra Bano

High Achievers of the Year Beaconhouse School System has always been an institution based on the principles of excellence and high standard of education since its establishment. This was further proven in the academic year where Beaconhouse and our students achieved highest GPAs in O levels Urdu and Accounting, as well as acquiring exceptionally high grades in A levels Business Studies and Urdu. This is all thanks to our marvelous teachers and students who put in the endeavors despite facing the challenges presented by COVID-19. The teachers were there for the students at all times and motivated them to achieve such triumphs. An honorable mention of our brilliant student Azka Nawaz. Urdu Mushaira Every year 5th February is commemorated with great fervor in Pakistan, as an expression of solidarity with the people of Kashmir. The knowledge of political history and the vital importance of this region is essential for us as a nation. In this context the senior students actively participated in a mushaira titled “Hurriat e Mujahideen e Kashmir”, expressing their love and recognition of the struggle of Kashmiris against the occupied forces. Their immaculate oral recitation and vocal expression enthralled the audience.

Abstract Art Poster Competition In addition, an Abstract Art Poster Competition amongst the seniors, highlighted the plight of freedom fighters on their road to independence. The winners and participants were awarded certificates. Reported by Meerub Arif

Chess Competition Chess is a board game of strategic abilities that helps the players develop critical thinking skills as they are faced with various challenges on the board, predicting several moves ahead of their opponent in order to score victory—a feature that helps the players develop stronger problem-solving potential. Ali Bux Jatoi is an O-Level Business student and the organizer of the series of chess tournaments conducted for students of O-Level and ALevel that took place on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of February 2022. The tournaments, consequently, proved to be a pleasurable experience for the participants, as well as being a major learning experience and a break from the vigorous studies faced by Cambridge students. Prizes were allocated for the participants, as well as participation certificates. Ali Bux held the first position. The second position was held by Mudasir from an A-Level Biology group, and the third position was held by Tehmoor from the same group. Reported by Amal Abro


Farewell 2022 The 2022 farewell, that bid the seniors a cordial goodbye, was one of the highlighting events and closure to the 2021-2022 academic session. Juniors were given the opportunity of rekindling and endeavoring the memories of the graduates who had completed their final year of high school. The school was decorated with a tint of warmth or maybe it was the reminiscences of the scattered memories of graduates. The event started with a welcome speech by our Principal Kashif Rajper. The event was then handed over to our talented comperes. Singing, dancing and title distribution kept the audience entertained as the program progressed. They also indulged in laughter watching a slideshow of the memories they had created in their last academic session of Cambridge and Matric stream. Lastly, the event came to an end with the seniors’ joining tables with their friends and peers. And thus, Beaconhouse was able to provide a cordial goodbye to their graduates of 2022 through this remarkable farewell party. Reported by Minal Arif

Young Canvas International Art Event’22 Our very own Hafsa Riaz’s art work has been selected for the final display of the exhibition in Lahore. The event theme was “Bazaar of my City.” Her 2D display captured the essence of the oldest bazaar in Hyderabad. The finalists will be judged by the renowned artist Jamal Shah. We are extremely proud of Hafsa for representing BCCQ in this international exhibition.

From the Editor This year was filled with the compensation of the lost time due to the pandemic, the students and teachers showed great mutuality from the start and were able to score a healthy progress at the end of the year. With the beginning of regular daily classes, the students were frustrated at first however, they were able to secure their old routine quite spectacularly soon. The Cambridge students were able to go through their first experience of CAIE examinations with the support and guidance of their teachers.
