News Letter 2019-20 Dear BSS Community, Though this last school-year has been quite challenging and different from any other in terms of the unfavorable outcomes of the COVID-19, together we will continue our tradition of providing a focused education to our students and quality service to our families. These new learning paradigms should not be allowed to turn into a barrier, instead they should be considered as one great opportunity to change our mindset as they relate, at the end of the day, to instructing as well as engaging our students in learning.

This year, I desire to offer unique, educational experiences to our students. I want my students to enjoy learning and enjoy attending school on daily basis, whether it is in a completely digital or a hybrid format. Though we are forced to alter our teaching strategies and learning methods in response to the abominable pandemic, our heart for our students and families still remains the same; we will never hesitate to do whatever’s humanly possible to keep our students flourishing.

I feel deeply delighted to announce that our O-Level students secured the highest CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Examination) results across the whole Southern Region in the year 2020. Hats off to them all too!

14th August 2019 The brainy beaconites at BSS Latifabad Secondary made Aug. 14, 2019 a memorable experience by celebrating the same through delivering a host of fiery speeches and staging their engaging performances!

Solidarity Day In observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day, BSS Latifabad Secondary arranged for its students an incredible-cum-highly-productive session with none other than the worthy Director of Private Institutions Hyderabad, Mr. Salik Mirza.

Graduation Ceremony & Prize Distribution 2019 August 31, 2019 marked the conduction of the Graduation Ceremony 2017-18 in which the students were presented with medals and souvenirs for their remarkable academic performances.

Teachers Day Our students expressed great love and gratitude towards their teachers; they presented the teachers with a variety of eye-catching cards that carried warm, hearty wishes and prayers for all teachers.

Global Dignity Day In the morning assembly conducted on the 17th of October, 2020, BSS Latifabad provided all its bubbly beaconites from Grade VII and VIII with an opportunity to recite poems and deliver heart-warming speeches on dignity. Also, the students from Senior Section, who wore beautiful Dignity Day badges all throughout the day, performed short plays and skits.

Student Council Body Year 2020 witnessed the happening of Student Body Council Elections too.

Our students made great efforts and ran their respective election campaigns with great fire and élan.

44th BSS Birthday BSS Latifabad held an amazing cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate Beaconhouse’s 44th Birthday on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. The ceremony wasn’t only just attended by our students, teachers and supporting staff but also by our worthy School Head, none other than Mrs. Farzana Lodhi. Our students brought lots of cards that carried beautiful, warm wishes and prayers for the Beaconhouse School System.

9th November Iqbal Day Iqbal Day was celebrated on November 9, 2020 to mark the birthday of one of the greatest Urdu poets, Allama Iqbal. His vision of creating an independent state for the Muslims of the subcontinent will always be regarded as the foundation for Pakistan.

Urdu week Urdu Week celebrated by Students, under the guidance of their Urdu teachers, prepared a number of interesting performances. Class VI, VII & VIII students presented an interesting role play, Debate & Naat. BISC Event 2019-20 Abdul Sattar Bawany student of class IX-Cambridge got 3rd Position in BISC Badminton and BICS FUTSAL 2020 securing a place in semi- final round BICS FUTSAL 2020 and got 3rd position.

Science Land Exhibition Student of class VI, VII & VIII participated in Science Land Exhibition 2019 with zeal and zest at Latifabad Secondary Campus.

An Educational Trip In reinforcement of their Geography Lessons that concerned some significant industrial processes, our beloved beaconites from IX-Cambridge took an unforgettably informative trip to Sapphire Textile Mills on Nov, 26 2019 today. There they learnt how the quality of the cotton is examined, and how is spun into yarn.

Study Tour In reinforcement of their Sindh lesson, our students of class X-Matric visited the tomb of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. The trip was interesting for the students as they heard the (a poem) played on Tambooro. They also had an opportunity to see the Quran (written by Shah Abdul Latif himself) and ‘Shah Jo Risalo.

Geo Earth & Islamiat Quiz Competition Student of Class VI, VII & VIII participated in Geo earth and Islamiat Quiz competition 2019.

End of Term Party 2019 To cherish the memories of the academic year, an end of term party was held on May 20, 2020. Students dressed up in beautiful outfits and expressed their happiness by singing and dancing. At the end of the day, a wonderful photo-shoot was arranged.

Bonfire Night A bonfire night was celebrated at Beaconhouse Latifabad Secondary Branch. The students performed songs, dances and humorous skits, making the night a memorable one for everyone.

Kashmir Day Everyone took a keen interest to express support for the Kashmiris.

Students gave a remarkable presentation during the morning assembly and highlighted the problems of the region and its people.

World scholar cup We are proud of our winners of World Scholar’s Cup Global round 2020.

HRCA Prize Distribution Congratulations! Students of Latifabad Secondary Campus participated in HRCA Art, Creative Writing, Science and English Competition 2019.Students won 9 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals & 12 Bronze Medals.

Art Exhibition Students of grade VI visited the Cultural Centre (Khana-e-Farhang) to attend their calligraphy. They also strengthened their calligraphic skills by attending the workshop.

Be a BSS Star In order to help our students stay active, engaged fully motivated throughout the early Corona vacations, BSS Latifabad organised an amazing competition nationwide wherein a number of students enrolled to present the TED-Style talks on camera. This competition, called Be-a-BSS-Star fared wonderfully well.

Panel Discussion by Students “CALL for Innovation” Beaconhouse Latifabad Secondary conducted a unique Panel Discussion on COVID-19 wherein our students presented a number of ideas for staying safe and calm in the face of the same abominable virus.

Sports Week The sports day brought a befitting end to a week of sports and games at BSS Latifabad Secondary. During the sports week, different classes were engaged in thrilling matches against each other. They played throw ball, Futsal, cricket, football and basketball.

Mark Tech 2020 Keeping the modern-time’s pulse in mind, BSS Latifabad Secondary held one other unique competition called Mark Tech to equip its students with a wealth of information about the usage of technology for leveraging their businesses.
