The new academic year 2019-20 drastically began on 5th August 2019 with warm, high spirited and overwhelmed welcome. Right from August till December, the first term was full of activities, celebrations and achievements.

Head’s Note Dear Parents, Here we have come to an end of the first term of the session 20192020. I believe it was a vivacious and happening session full of activities, success, triumphs, accomplishments and achievements. These coups were the result of profound blend of parents’ support and cooperation along with teachers’ endless efforts and struggles. I am eagerly waiting for yet another verbose and inspiring session with the usual cooperation and austere hard work.

Back to School New class, new book pack, and new teachers were an ultimate attraction for the students. Students were warmly welcomed and vivaciously received by whole staff of latifabad Primary II including Branch Head, teachers and administration. Fun filled and stimulating activities made children’s day truly pleasant and memorable.

Kashmir Solidarity Day Kashmir solidarity day was observed by BSS LP II with strong, peaceful and prominent protest with active participation of teachers and students, maximum in numbers to sensitize and open the eyes of International Communities. The staff and students delivered speeches, played Kashmiri songs and made a peace wall having solidarity messages.

Students chanted slogans in favour of Kashmirs and against unfair occupation in Kashmir. The whole BSS LPII staff and students collectively prayed for Kashmir’s freedom.

Defense Day Latifabad Primary II celebrated Defense Day on 6th September 2019 to acknowledge the military martyrs and their sacrifices during the war of 1965. Students read poem, performed tableau and sang patriotic songs. The children seemed all patriotic and devoted. Many students dressed in Army Uniform did March Past and replicated a Wagah Border parade to pay tribute to our brave soldiers serving at the border.

Orientation Session for New Parents An orientation session for new parents under the supervision of the Branch Head was organized in the month of August, intending to make parents familiarize with the curriculum, examination procedures, cyclic time table, teaching staff, overall administration and management of the branch. Introduction of new books like Rising Stars was introduced to the parents along with practical mathematical strategies to help parents guide their students at home. Beaconhouse Mobile App and Edmodo was also acquaint with the parents to help them communicate better.

Student Council Election Candidates for Student Council Election were selected after passing many competitions and set criteria. Selected participants did campaigning for their promotion.

Election poll and counting of votes was done online. Sara Shafqat and Muhammad Mustafa from 4A received the maximum votes and became Head Girl and Head Boy, respectively. Safa Ali Khan from 4A and Abdullah Shah from 4C became Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy respectively by receiving second highest votes.

Independence Day Beaconhouse School System Latifabad Primary II celebrated Independence Day on 9th August 2019 with fervor and zeal. Children participated in speeches, tableaus, national songs, and Quiz program to commemorate the loss of precious lives of Muslims in the movement and journey of Pakistan.

Roald Dahl’s Day To commemorate the work of Roald Dahl on his 101th birthday, students of grade 4C expressed their gratitude for the renowned British writer by choosing him to be the topic of their class assembly presentation. Students shared gloriumptious facts about Roald Dahl, performed a role play and had a delicious character parade where they dressed up as their favourite characters from Roald Dahl's stories.

They also took pleasure in sharing some of the famous sayings by the writer.

Students remain involved in different fascinating activities throughout the day like My jar of dreams, Who am I in which they had to identify characters from the stories written by Roald Dahl and did book reviews of his famous books.

Parent Teacher Meeting In order to update parents about students’ academic progress and reflect on overall performance and behavior of students, BSS LPH II organized formal and informal parent Teacher meetings. It was very productive for teachers as well as for parents to develop strategies mutually in order to improve students’ performance.

International Teachers Day Celebration International Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5th October to pay tribute to the mentors. Students creatively made cards for their benevolent teachers and they also presented souvenirs to them. In the end, the Branch Head LP II Ms.Rashdi introduced the efficient and experienced teachers of LP II to all mothers and thanked their countless and austere efforts and determination, they put in bringing up a child and shaping their lives. Mothers also valued the teachers as they are equally influential and vital in their child’s life.

International Global Dignity Day International Global dignity day was celebrated on 16 th October, 2019 to enhance the importance of equality and respect, in this regard renowned social worker, Miss Chitrah was invited as a guest speaker. presented roleplay and choir, introduction to Global dignity figures was given. Students shared through the days and read poems. They also gave cards and souvenir to junior staff. Students of grade III wrote poems on the themes of kindness, respect and humanity winners of poem writing competition were announced. In the end, the Branch Head presented honorary Shield, card and vase to the chief guest.

Study Trip to Dentist As part of students experiential learning, students of class II had a study trip to Maaji Hospital, Hyderabad, in which experienced team of doctors lectured on teeth care, remedies for teeth problems and ways to avoid cavities. Students were further presented with goody bags as a token of remembrance.

Picture Description Competition In order to improve students' creative writing skills, Bss LPII arranged Class 2’s picture description competition on 8th october. From class II- A, Ist position was taken by Mohsin Raza , Raifah, Saniya, Mustafa Hussain, ibad hussain randhawa, Taha, Areesha, Dua got 2nd Position, while 3rd Position winners were Muhammad Ismail,from class II- B Ist position holders were Ahsan Imdad , Muhammad Qasim, Muhammad Ashraf, 2nd position was taken by Abdul Ghani, Abdul Raheem, while 3rd Position was taken

by Essa, Ayeza, Umais, Ayan. From Class II-C Wania Khan got first , position: Zaryab Ahmed and Umer Mateen got second, Bibi Amna and Muhammad Siraj got 3rd position.

Math Week Celebration In order to boost students’ learning capabilities and stimulate their brain, Beaconhouse School system celebrated Mental Math Week from 21 st to 25th October 2019 in school premises. It included different Mental Math activities for each level such as, Snake and Ladder converging counting, Toy Shop activity about buying and purchasing focusing addition and subtraction, Scavenger Hunt about clues and their answer hidden in flash card and rapid mental addition was

also enjoyed by students. Activities like Scavenger Hunt, Math Island about and Sudoku were adored by students as they increase student ’s interest in practicing.

Education Trip to Danzoo Under the hermetic security of security supervisor, students along with whole staff of BSS LPII, went on an educational and excursion trip on 16th December-2019 at Danzoo, Bahria Town Karachi. The students were super excited about this complete treat at the end of a hectic academic session. Students were thrilled at the sight of different wild and aquatic animals from different habitats. Having baggi Ride along with the company of their friends and delicious meal had added more recreation to the trip.

Hafta e Urdu Adab To enhance students language skills in Urdu , Hafta-e-Urdu Adab was celebrated from 1st November to 9th November 2019 in which students excitedly participated in numerous activities including Quiz Competition , Assembly presentations, Moama sazi,story sequencing, reading competition, Tasveer nigari, and Putli Tamasha. The concept of celebrating Urdu week was highly admired by parents to enhance students’ language skills in Urdu.

Urdu Reading Competition As part of Hafta-e-Urdu Adab, Urdu reading competition was organized in order to enhance students urdy reading skills, Neha Aziz from II-C got 1st position , Zaryab from class II-C got 2nd position and Usaid from class II-A got 3rd position in Urdu Reading Competition. Certificates of Merit was given to winner, parents appreciated them.

Iqbal Day Celebration Iqbal day was being celebrated on 8th November 2018, on the occasion of 132nd birthday of Shaaire Mashriq Allama Iqbal, in school premises enabling students recognize the significance and role of Iqbal’s poetry as a milestone in the movement of Pakistan. Students performed tableau, highlighted life events of Iqbal’s life along with famous books of Allah Iqbal on the concept of Khudi (Ego).

Children presented a tableau on famous poem, “Lab pe aati hai dua ban k tamana meri” and “Shehad ki Makhi” .

Poem Writing Competition As part of Global Dignity Day , Students of grade III wrote poems on the themes of kindness, respect and humanity. From III-A, Ali Abbas got 1st, Arshman Ali got 2nd Position and Safia shafaat got 3rd position . From III-B. Areesha Memon and Zaviyar Zaki got First position, Zaira Zeeshan Mehrish got 2nd Position, and Sanwal khan and Murad Asad got 3rd position. From III-C Sara Rizwan got first position, Naina khan and Isbah Nawaz got 2nd position and Ahson Bandhani got 3rd position. From III-D Ureefa Fatima got first position, M. Ibrahim got 2nd position while Eshal fatima stood 3rd.

International Literacy Day International Literacy Day was celebrated on 12th September, 2019 at BSS LP II.

Students participated and attempted various activities designed by the school librarian such as E- Book Reading, Team Quiz, Story Writing, Scrabble Game, Word Puzzle.

These activities helped the students to improve their reading skills and also enhanced their vocabulary.

Assembly Presentations and Curricular Activities Different curricular activities have been an integral part of lesson, that have been conducted grade wise to make learning a better experience like project work, Show and tell Concrete Pictorial Abstract activities, hands on activities, and assembly presentation etc. mothers were courteous to attend the assembly presentations and they really appreciated the efforts of BSS LP II.

Annual Sports Day Most anticipated event of the year Annual Sports Day was organized to promote extracurricular activities having positive effect on students’ minds and contributing towards healthy bodies. The Annual Sports Day had numerous segments like welcome song, March Past, live duet singing with music played by students, colourful rhythmic P.T display, Gymnastics and variety of races. The students were jubilant on receiving their medals on their achievements. A large number of parents, dignitaries, and System heads attended the well organized event.

44th BSS Birthday Celebration Beaconhouse 44th birthday was celebrated on Monday 4th November 2019 which started off with beautiful decorations around the school. Branch head Ms.Anjuman Rashdi gave a speech on the history, mission and aim of Beaconhouse school system discussing the achievements with all the students of the school. Students were told how Beaconhouse plans and puts efforts to meet the aim and its mission through various policies and strategies e.g. BSS learner profile, PSHE and Child Protection policies, quality education, international standards, Global learning communities etc. Young members of our school participated in the cake cutting ceremony with huge delight.
