MID TERM

Dear Parents, I am ecstatic to have witnessed our classrooms filled to the brim, roaring with laughter and jibber-jabbers of children after living a nightmare for a year! I am thankful to Almighty Allah for answering our prayers. He is indeed merciful. I would congratulate all and sundry, who had put their heart and soul into making this term highly successful and dynamic. It is an absolute delight to see our students growing every passing day in this first term of the academic year. With your endless support, I am convinced that we will continue to thrive. Our persistent aim as we approach 2022 is to help our students have a safe and happy school where they will continue to learn, mature, and blossom. I am proud to announce that our talented teacher Ms. Sana Noor has been promoted as a School Coordinator. She has been associated with Beaconhouse School System since 4 years. She is an advanced degree holder in MBA Finance and certified in many courses which improve interpersonal, management and communication skills within this nonpareil institution. She is working as a Subject Lead for Math as well. Her prime role is to facilitate teachers and students to improve effective teaching & learning. She will be an additional support in order to maintain good rapport between teachers and parents. We wish her good luck for the new role!

Welcome! Virtual Meet and Greet Session The new academic year 2021-2022 commenced on August 9, 2021, ebulliently. The teachers hosted a virtual Meet & Greet session for the new students and their parents to acquaint them with the school environment and the teachers who would teach them during the year. Also, students received some necessary guidelines regarding the subjects, scheme of work (SOW), timetable, and sharing of homework tasks on BSU. The interactive activities planned by the teachers made the students overjoyed. The meet up winded up with the teachers addressing parents' queries and resolving them then and there.

Independence Day, 14th August 2021 The young patriotic learners of Latifabad Primary II fervently celebrated the 74th Independence Day of Pakistan virtually with their teachers. The celebration was lively and kept everyone uplifted till the end. Students participated in various activities like live singing, watched a documentary on the life of Baba-E-Qaum Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, played a quiz to unveil their knowledge about the geography and history of Pakistan, and delivered motivational speeches. Children also utilized the platform to share their patriotic thoughts as young citizens. The program ended on a happy note, with everyone praying for the welfare and prosperity of the nation.

Naazraah Orientation, 28th August 2021 Beaconhouse Latifabad Primary II facilitated its students and their parents with an orientation session on the newly introduced compulsory subject Naazraah Quran by the government of Pakistan. The majority of the parents attended the online orientation. The main objective behind the session was to make parents clear about the aim behind introducing the Naazraah Quran in academics. The discussion highlighted the significance of instilling daily practices of Quranic learning and the teachings of Islam to foster the spiritual and religious development of children being Muslims. Defence Day, 6th September 2021 BSS LP II celebrated Defence Day on 6th September 2021 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students paid homage to the nation’s brave armed forces for their courage and resilience to safeguard the country. Students remembered the sacrifices of our gallant martyrs by reading heartwarming poems, presenting tableaus, highlighting the significance of various Military Awards including (Nishan-e-Haider) and delivering meaningful speeches. Most of the students were dressed in armed forces costumes to show their respect to our brave soldiers. The courage and passion of our young generation were indeed magnificent.

Roald Dahl Day, 17th September 2021 Our diligent students of grade 3 virtually celebrated the greatest children's author Roald Dahl by digging into his life and exploring interesting facts about him. They also dressed up as their favorite characters from Roald Dahl's stories and shared his famous quotations. A virtual tour of Dahl's writing hut wrapped up the celebration leaving students in awe of the writer.

Teachers’ Day, 5 October 2021 Teachers are undoubtedly the driving force behind any successful individual. They are a guiding light, who play a massive part in our lives. Words would not be enough to explain their contribution. There is no better way to pay tribute than dedicating a day in their honor. Our young intellectuals celebrated Teacher's Day to commend the tireless efforts of unsung heroes OUR TEACHERS. They made cards to wish, greet, and acknowledge the contribution of teachers in their lives. Lastly, our worthy branch head, Ms Anjuman Rashdi, presented a token of love to all the faculty members of LP II. th

1st Parent Teacher Meeting, 9th October 2021 This year BSS LP-II was gladdened to host its all face to face Parent Teacher Meeting for the first half of the year, after struggling with uncertain situations for a prolonged time. The meeting took place in the early morning hours on Saturday, the 9th of October. The event witnessed almost 85% attendance of the parents, thus making it a successful meeting that brought together the stakeholders and the teachers to reflect on the learning and progress of students and collaboratively discuss and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Spell Bee Competition, 28th October 2021 BSS LP II hosted Spelling Bee Competition for the students of Grade II to provide its learners with an opportunity to enrich their vocabulary and improve their spelling. The contest also immensely helped students boost their self confidence. Having composed two rounds, students felt motivated throughout to excel in each. The competition compelled the students to participate keenly, and they put forth their best efforts to win. The winners received certificates and shields for their applaud able performance. 1st Position holders were Aditya Mukesh Bhimani (2-D), Muhammad (2-B), Anaya Shaikh(2-B), Rayan Ali Soomro (2-D) and Afza (2-D).

Virtual Sports Competition, 15th October 2021 BSS LP-II hosted the much-anticipated Virtual Sports Competition under the guidance of P.E instructor Sir Talha Sherwani. It was a day filled with great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The day started with great athletic moves by the students of grade 2. They were seen fiercely performing Dynamic Balance by doing coordinated high knee, back extension, arm and leg balance followed by highly competitive displays of endurance by cross hopping, executed by the finalists from different sections of grade 3. The efforts done by each one of the students were highly commendable. The students who outperformed themselves and won the dignified trophy of Campus Champions were Sherheryar and Ume Haniya from grade 2, while Ayat Anjum and Bilal Khan from grade 3.

Dignity Week Celebration, 18th till 22nd October 2021 The students of BSS LP-II wholeheartedly participated in different activities all through the week from 18th to 22nd of Oct’21 to appreciate the dignity and respect around them. Students shared their acts of kindness and gave inspiring speeches to help spread awareness of the importance of Global Dignity. Students also made spectacular posters and paintings that depicted the true essence of being human. To further strengthen the cause, some of the students were selected as Global Dignity ambassadors to help build a movement of a dignity-centered world. Hafta e Urdu Adab, 1st November till 5th November 2021 Latifabad Primary-II campus paid tremendous tribute to our national language by celebrating “Urdu Week”. Various skillfully devised activities like Khel Khel mei Urdu seekain, Nazm Goi followed by uplifting Kahani Goi allowed students to receive the correct form and meaning of Urdu language. Students lit up the stage with their Mehfil-e- Mushaira. Different stations were set with a lot of colorful resources to promote the importance of our national language, where students enjoyed interactive activities. A humorous skit on Uncle Sargam (Famous childhood character) wrapped up the entire celebration magnificently.

Math Week Celebration, 25th till 29th October 2021 Our little mathematicians got an incredible chance to expand their mathematical learning through an exceptionally informative learning experience celebrated as Math Week from 25th to 29th October. The week proved to be an opportunity to make children fall in love with numbers and explore their creative talent in the subject. Math has so many applications in everyday life, from tallying up bills to measuring items in recipes. The Math teachers planned lots of fun-filled and engaging activities to cater to students' critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Students remained entertained daily through different competitions and hands-on activities such as Mental Math Competition, Tuck shop activity, math games etc. The teachers also conducted Math workshop for the parents to enlighten them with the Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract Approach used by BSS through Rising Star. Parents made the most out of the session and used the platform to discuss their concerns regarding the mathematical concepts. End of the week winners of the competition were awarded with prizes and shields. First position secured by Team Mind Blasters and participants were Hareem Fatima (2B), Muhammad Asher (2B), Manha Danish (2A) and Muhammad Saadi Shaikh (2C) and Moez Murtaza (3A) Inaya Hassan Qadri (3B) Abdullah Iqbal 3C and Amin Dars (3D).

Poem writing Competition for grade III 5th November 2021 To celebrate BSS 46 years of academic excellence, BSS LP II announced a 'Poem Writing Contest' for the students of grade 3, where they vehemently paid a poetic tribute to their school through their beautiful compositions. The best poems received 'The Poem of the Year' awards. Also, certificates were awarded to the participants to appreciate their efforts and encourage participation in future. The students who stood first and received the 'Poem of the Year' award are: Mustafa Ghouri (3A), Ayrah Siddiqui (3A), Ahmed Shafqat (3A), Ahmed Mustafa (3B),Abdullah Iqbal (3C), and Anaya Shahzeb (3D).

BSS 46th Birthday 4th November 2021 The 46th birthday of Beaconhouse was the most sought-after day for the beaconites. It was a day of great memories and immense pleasure specially for Primary II Campus, Latifabad. It was a great pleasure to see students blooming with delight as they sang a birthday song for BSS followed by a cake cutting ceremony in the presence of the Senior Mistress, students and all the teachers. Students were seen busy in carrying out different activities for their beloved school. At the end of the day students were ecstatic to receive chocolates as a token of love from the branch.

Mehfil E Naat Khuwani, 5th November 2021 To show our love for of our last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), BSS LP-II organized the event of Mehfil E Naat Khuwani in the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awal. This occasion holds a special place in the hearts of all Muslims worldwide, as with great enthusiasm and respect, we recall the highlight of the Prophet’s (PBUH) life which is an excellent example for the entire human race. This most sacred event started with the recitation of Holy verses of the Quraan, followed by the spiritually enriching Naats by the students of grades 2 and 3. Students presented information about the life of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and shared the Hadiths with the utmost honor.

Iqbal Day, 9th November 2021 Iqbal day is organized and celebrated on the 9 of November annually in all the provinces of Pakistan to pay tribute and commemorate the contributions of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal famously known as “the Poet of the East". This year being the 144 birth anniversary of the Poet of the East, BSS Latifabad Primary-II organized special programmes to shed light on the life of the great philosopher. Students paid homage to the national poet by presenting amusing tableaus, delivering heartwarming speeches, reciting his poems, sharing the poet's famous couplets and performing on his most cherished "Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua". There was also a special segment in the programme which helped students learn about the autobiography of the great poet. The program came to an end with his beautiful poetry “Yaa Rab dil-e- Muslim ko wo zinda tamanna de”. th

Science Fair, 12th November 2021 BSS LP-II took great pride in organizing a science fair to update the students on the scientific advances in the new changing world. 12 November ‘21 proved to be the most innovative and experimental day for our little scientists, as they were provided with an opportunity to experiment with their own knowledge and reflect on the new learning facts. Students made remarkable projects and presented their work by giving insightful knowledge on their projects. It was astonishing to see students performing live experiments and testing different scientific methodologies. Science Fair turned out to be a wholesome experience that offered students a great chance to answer questions based on hypothesis. Children’s Day Celebration, 19th November 2021 The children of today will make the world of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country. To make our little learners feel special, we at LP II celebrated Children's Day on 19 November 2021. Students savored each moment, and it was immensely pleasing to watch them crooning to the soulful melodies played by the music teacher. They took extreme pleasure in playing games like Musical Ring and Tug of War. Teachers also equally participated in Tug of war, and the ground filled with laughter and cheers from the students. The celebration ended with students receiving motivational stickers from the branch head, making their day unforgettable.

Educational Trip to Civil Aviation Training Institute, 7th December and 8th December 2021 The Beaconites of Latifabad Primary II had an opportunity to visit one of the finest Civil Aviation Training Institutes of South Asia located in Hyderabad, where trainees from within and outside the country come to receive training of multifarious disciplines offered at the institute before they take charge. Students were in seventh heaven as they witnessed the 3D simulation of the arrival and departure of planes at the Jinnah terminal. The 3D models of aircraft and the runway left the children spellbound. They also got the chance to observe the firefighting tools and techniques used during a mishap. The students made profound memories and were immensely grateful to the school administration for arranging this informative and fun-filled study cum recreational trip.

Sindh Culture Day Celebration, 14th December 2021 To educate students about the rich cultural heritage of their province, Sindhi Cultural Day as known as Aekta Jo Dihaarro (the day of unity)' was celebrated with great exuberance in the premises of BSS Latifabad Primary II by the school children and the staff. Students attired in traditional Sindhi costumes and accessories proudly spoke about Sindhi Ajrak and topi, a symbol of pride and honor of Sindhi culture. They also expressed their love for the province by passionately singing famous songs in a choir. The delirious performance by the Music teacher compelled the students to put on their dancing shoes and sway to Sindhi folk songs. In the end, everyone wished for the prosperity and welfare of the province by chanting in unison, Jiye Sindh jiye Sindh wara jiyan Sindhi Topi Ajrak wara jiyan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SCHOOL

When I first went to school, I thought it was nice & cool. My mum asked how was that? I just said, BSS is the Best! When I saw my classroom zest, I was impressed and felt so blessed. Then I thought in my head, Indeed, BSS is the Best!

BSS is the best! 2nd position is for the rest. Teachers here are very kind, Their duty is to expand everyone’s mind. Books are always no for fun, That’s why our teachers let us play and run, I really like my school, I just wish it also had a pool.

BSS always motivates children to take part in third party activities since they are intellectually stimulating and help boost self confidence in oneself. Like every year, students once again enthusiastically participated in HRCA Science and English Quiz 2021, winning gold and silver medals. Besides, one of our diligent students Ahmed Shafqat won a cash prize of Rs 5000 for his phenomenal performance in HRCA English Quiz 2021, making us awfully proud of his achievement.
