Johar Town Junior Branch Dear Parents, Teachers and parents together have a strong impact on child’s sense of self by establishing communication between the school and home. The agenda will help you to be aware of your child’s learning experience at school and provide you an idea to further enhance their learning at home . This month students will be introduced to a new theme that is “Food”. During this month students will be involved in a variety of activities through which they will get to know about the importance of healthy food and healthy eating habits.

In this month students will also be introduced to a new story book .i.e. “Oliver's Vegetables” ,in which they will know about the characters and the sequence of the events. They will learn about different fruits, vegetables ,dairy products and their names. Through the story the students will get an opportunity to develop on their communication skills will be extended as they will talk and perform a role play activity related to the story.

Mathematical Development
Students will be given awareness about the following: *reinforcement of numerals 1-10 recitation of Tauz,Tasmiya and first Kalima *sequencing numbers 1-10 with their English translations. *concept of what comes before and after of a name of our Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Holy particular number. *counting how many objects Book. in a set. Dua for increasing knowledge. *concept of addition. name of five prayers and days of the week.
Students will be given awareness about the following through circle time activities.
describing pictures and sharing their own experiences.
guessing the object in the pocket.
ETHICS:
Importance of sharing and caring.
Importance of respecting all religions.
Knowledge & Understanding of the World Students will be given awareness through interactive activities about the following:
importance of eating healthy food.
sources of food (through farm animals and plants)
differentiating between fruits and vegetables.
describing the colour, texture and taste of the fruits
differentiating between healthy and junk food.
naming the foods that keep our teeth healthy.
Communication, Language & Literacy *recognizing the sounds z,w,v and y. *linking sounds of s,a,t,i,p,n,c,k,e,h,r,m,d,g,o,u,l,f and b with their relevant vocabulary. *hearing and relating the phonemes (at the initial position of words). raising and answering simple questions from story “Oliver’s Vegetable”. *using of language and vocabulary related with naming and associating objects. *holding a writing tool using an efficient grip. *beginning to use clockwise /anticlockwise movement and retrace shapes., lines and letter sounds. reading of three letter words: /j-a-m/,/j-e-t/,/z-i-p/,/w-e-b/ and /w-e-t/
Creative Development (Art) Students will explore and gain competency in using variety of techniques through following activities i.e. vegetable printing. my healthy food plate. making a fruit basket.
Physical Development Students will develop the skills of control over movements, speed, sense of distance and direction through: *running, walking ,hopping, jumping and crawling. balancing using different body parts. *twisting, bending and stretching while doing exercises. *travelling around under, over, along and through balancing & climbing equipment .
