First Word Dear Parents Congratulations to the entire team of NNP VI including parents for completion of a very successful first term. As you know it has been a busy term, where we worked tirelessly towards our vision, which can best be summed up in two words “Aim High”. This means that we want all our students to achieve high standards academically and outshine in co-curricular activities; a goal they successfully achieved. Apart from the main priority of getting students settled into the daily schedule and their new academic session, especially after inconsistent routines during Covid-19, a lot has been going on both in and out of lesson time. Please take time out to go through this newsletter to learn about some of the activities that were organised in the first term; final term promises to be equally productive. Communication is essential and we strive to connect to our students, parents and families, and community each and every day. We will continue reaching out to you through calls and text messages. We also encourage you to visit and follow our social media pages including Facebook, Instagram and school blog for announcements and information. As always, I wish to express my sincere gratitude toward our entire school community. We would not be the amazing school that we are, without the help and support from all of you. Sincerely, Headmistress Incharge Ms Samina Jamal saminajamal.khakwani@bh.edu.pk

Students’ Council Election and Investiture Ceremony: Student Council is a great way for students to take on leadership roles, promote and uphold the values of the entire student body. Being a part of students’ council is an important learning opportunity for them. In addition to boosting confidence, it also teaches students varied skills; including communication, public speaking, problem solving and accepting feedback. After an exciting election campaign, selected students from grade IV-VII were electronically voted by their school fellows for different posts of Student Council. Results were announced and responsibilities were officially handed over to the student body in a graceful Investiture Ceremony.

Cheers for the teachers:

On Teachers’ Day, students paid tribute to teachers around the world and to their own teachers in particular. They wrote messages of gratitude and presented beautiful hand-made cards and flowers to the teachers.

Inter-section English Debate Competition: Young orators of grade IV-VII put forth enormous efforts for the Inter-Section English Debate Competition. Students from different grades spoke in favour and against the given topics. They effectively supported their stance with reason and logic. The judges and audience thoroughly appreciated the participants' excellent quality of oration.

Spirit of Patriotism:

Pakistan's 75th Independence Day was celebrated virtually with zeal and vigour by our young patriots. They participated in different activities and sang national songs to show their love for their beloved motherland.

Intra-cluster English Debate Competition:

They came, they presented their arguments and they conquered the hearts of everyone present in the audience. Our eloquent winners of inter-section debate competition then participated at the Intra-Cluster English Debate Competition and won the hearts of judges and audience through their confidence, persuasive arguments and excellent oratory skills. The competition was hosted by Primary II Campus, North Nazimabad. Seasoned English Teachers from Cambridge Campus North Nazimabad, Mr Razi Imam and Ms Nazish were the judges. Eshaal Moazzam from our branch, who spoke against the notion won second prize among students of Class IV. Tabassum Zehra of Class V won the first position in her category. Ali Hamza of Class VI made us proud by attaining the second position, talking against the notion. Rhyam Hussain achieved the first position and Sukaina Zaidi got the third position among class VII students. We are extremely proud of them all. Way to go kids!

Respect for all: Global Dignity Day is celebrated around the world to raise awareness of the right to respect and dignity for all people. A spirited celebration of Dignity Day was held at NNP-VI too. Students of each level came up with their own contribution to participate in this event. A special assembly was arranged to celebrate the day. Students presented cards and gifts to the support staff and shared their posters and poems related to the topic. Specially elected Dignity Ambassadors from every class conducted various activities to highlight the importance of dignity.

There is no greater honour for us than to be able to pay our humble tribute to the greatest blessing for mankind: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). A successful Jalsa-e-Sirat ul Nabi was held in our campus. Students from all levels enthusiastically participated in the event to show their love and respect for the greatest person human history has ever witnessed. Students recited durood and naats, presented incidents from the Holy Prophet’s life and shared hadees. The mothers of students also joined us at the event and appreciated students' efforts and the ambiance created for the special day.

To inculcate the love of their national language and to make our students understand the rich heritage of Urdu prose and poetry, a Haft-e-UrduAdab was arranged for them. Students from all levels zealously participated in the event. Their performances in different skits, songs, mushairas, bait bazi and quizzes were worth appreciation.

ISA Winners: We are pleased and proud to announce that yet another feather has been added to our cap as our campus became the proud winner of the International School Award. The International School Award (ISA) is a global accreditation scheme recognising good practices in incorporating international dimensions into schools. It is awarded to schools that have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness and understanding within their schools. A prestigious ceremony was arranged by the British Council at Pearl Continental Hotel where this award was rendered to team NNP-VI. One of our students Zahhak Ahmed of class VII was also selected to represent the student body and be part of a panel discussion in the award ceremony.

HRCA Prize Distribution Ceremony: HRCA is an organisation that provides students with an opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, equipping them with various skills required for their future careers. A prize distribution ceremony was held for the parents and students who won medals and cash prizes at the HRCA Competition for Science and English.

Spelling Bee Competition: The benefits of participating in a Spelling Bee competition go beyond improving vocabulary. Through this, students also develop self-confidence, communication and public speaking skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Students from Grade III showed their mettle at the recently held Inter-section Spelling Bee Competition.

Intra-branch Junior Cricket Tournament: An Intra-branch Junior Cricket Tournament was held for Class IV at North Nazimabad Primary 1. In the first round, young cricketers from our branch defeated the team of NNP1. Muhammad Ayaan of IV-C was declared the best player of the match. In the end, team NNPVI emerged as the runner up of the tournament.

Intra-cluster Sports Competition: Students who are physically active and engaged in sports develop a fuller sense of self and enhanced self-confidence. An Intra-cluster Individual Sports Competition was hosted by NNKG, where 12 out of 14 participants from our branch were announced winners.
