JULY 2022

FIRST WORD Dear Parents, The second term of the academic year 2021-22 has successfully come to an end while our students kept excelling both in and outside their classrooms, meeting benchmarks and setting new standards of excellence. As we continue our journey towards excellence in the new academic year, it is my hope and desire that each of us in Beaconhouse NNP VI community be a gift and contribution to others. We surely can attain this goal only by our collaborative efforts. This year our grade VI and VII students will be relocated to North Nazimabad, Middle Campus. I want to convey my best wishes to all these students who are moving to the senior levels and wish them success in the future. While celebrating the end of a successful term, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the parent community as without your support and cooperation nothing would have been possible. I hope in future too we will work together and achieve success as a team. I wish you and your families a relaxing summer break. Happy Holidays, Sincere regards, Ms Samina Jamal Headmistress Incharge

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL Acknowledgement and recognition are vital human needs. Awards do not only acknowledge success; they recognise many other qualities: ability, struggle, effort and, above all, excellence. They are an acknowledgement of a job well done and justification for the agony, the selfdoubt, and the hard work that went into winning them. Winning one such award made team NNP VI overwhelmed, and elated. It gave us validation of our hard work and boosted our confidence. In a recently held graceful award ceremony by Beaconhouse Southern Region, our campus, North Nazimabad Primary VI was presented The Academic Excellence Award for the best academic performance in the Middle School Category, among all branches of the Southern region. This is a great honour for all our students, teachers and parent community. As no milestone can be reached and no goal can be achieved without the collective effort of the whole team so this award goes to you all. This award would certainly motivate us to keep working hard and be the best among the rest.

KASHMIR DAY Our students showed their support unity with the people of Kashmir, ongoing freedom struggle, and homage to martyrs who lost their fighting for Kashmir's freedom.

and their paid lives

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY Skills like teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline, learning from failure, Sportsmanship, etc., are developed only when children play sports regularly. At Beaconhouse we acknowledge that these skills are equally important. Annual Sports Day is one such exciting event to which students anxiously look forward. The same fervour and enthusiasm of students were seen during our campus’s recently held Annual Sports Day at Siddique Memon Scouts Sports Complex. Students demonstrated their passion for sports through many lively and energetic performances in Hula Hoop, Yoga, Aerobics, Gymnastics, Taekwondo and vibrant PE displays. The audience was spellbound to see the young sportspersons, performing each act with such perfection and synchronisation. World cup gold medallist in ju-jitsu, which is a family of Japanese martial arts, Fatima Irfan graced the occasion as the chief guest of the event. Her presence was certainly a source of inspiration for all our students and especially the young girls present there.

Track events were the highlight of the day. Winners were handed over trophies and medals by the chief guest.

EID FAIR The idea that social entrepreneurs are critical to our society and our ability to provide solutions to the vast number of social problems that plague us on a worldwide level is not new. However, the belief in the potential of social entrepreneurship is gaining support as the government nor the market alone proves effective at solving pressing social problems. Students arranged an entrepreneur Eid Fair cum Bake Sale as part of their super project to raise funds for an organization that the class wanted to support. Students decided what products or services they want to exhibit/provide at the entrepreneurial fair. Funds collected were donated to the charity.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY To present a tribute to all the women across the world, a panel discussion was organized by Class VII students at NNP-VI. TRADITIONAL SPORTS AND GAMES WEEK Traditional sports and games are a means to encourage values of solidarity, fair play, inclusion, and cultural awareness. In addition, traditional sports and games reflect cultural diversity and foster mutual understanding and tolerance among communities and nations. However, many traditional games have disappeared and those that survive face imminent disappearance. Beaconhouse firmly believes that it is important to safeguard and promote these traditional sports and games. Hence, from the 14th to the 18th of March we celebrated Traditional Sports and Games Week.

FIELD TRIP Field trips enrich and expand the curriculum, strengthen observation skills by immersing students in sensory activities, increase children's knowledge in a particular subject area and expand children's awareness of their own community. Its importance and effectiveness increase many folds when it is done in an interactive Science place like TDF Magnifi Science Centre. It was a memorable learning adventure for all our students from grade I till VII to visit this place designed to provide hands-on learning experiences to students of all ages and backgrounds.

PAKISTAN RESOLUTION DAY More than 80 years ago we stood resolute and sacrificed everything for a separate homeland. A special assembly was held to make students understand the importance of Pakistan Resolution Day in the history of Pakistan.
