The design task for the CalTrain Rail System was to repurpose an existing 30,000 square foot building by combining conceptual ideas by working in a team which included two other designers.

Interior sketch of lower level train platform entrance. We incorporated a focal water fall feature to create a calming atmosphere within a busy area of the station.

The design problem for this project was to develop a space that allows for travelers & commuters to utilize public transportation.

Based on the needs of commuters and travelers, we designed a space that incorporates areas to shop, eat, relax, and enjoy nature within a single building.
Concept
Movement of:
Sketch of the Interior Courtyard. We wanted the courtyard to be a retreat for travelers to enjoy and relax by using nature and incorporating the dome to allow light and natural air into the space.
