Sacred Heart Church, PEO Chapter Ex to hold craft fair, bake sale
WILTON — Sacred Heart Church and the PEO Chapter Ex of Bemidji will host a holiday craft fair and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the church, 135 Third St. NW, in Wilton. BEMIDJI — Buena Vista Ski Area will hold
its annual Welcome to Winter open house, which includes a ski and snowboard swap and ski patrol fundraiser, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Buena Vista, 19600 Irvine Ave. NW.
A portion of the consignment sales will go to Buena Vista’s ski patrol for training and medical education. Ski and snowboard gear should be brought to Buena Vista for the swap from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, or 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.

BEMIDJI — Shannon
Lucas Westrum will lead a Santa basket workshop from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Watermark Art Center, 505 Bemidji Ave. N.
Participants age 14 and older will create a 10-inch wide oval basket perfect for a holiday hostess gift or a clever way to display holiday cards, a release said.
This basket will have a pine base to build upon, but building the sides will require finger and hand dexterity.
The registration fee is $25 per person plus $30 for materials, payable to the instructor at class time.

Parks and Rec to offer family holiday photos
BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with Visit Bemidji, will offer family holiday photos from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Tourist Information Center. Photos will be taken in front of the fireplace. Friends of Sons of Norway Bemidji set to meet Nov. 24
BEMIDJI — Friends of the Sons of Norway Bemidji Lodge will meet at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. SE.
During the meeting, the group will elect officers and guest speaker Stephanie Anderson will
present a program titled, “Nordic Knitting Heroes.” Anderson is a creative fiber and textile artist with a strong background in knitting, quilting and hand sewing of Viking Age textiles, a release said. A frequent exhibitor, teacher and knitting pattern writer, she won a blue ribbon in knitting at the Minnesota State

Bemidji’s Annual Community Holiday Meal set for Nov. 28
BEMIDJI — The 44th Annual Community Holiday Meal is returning this Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, with deliveries feeding those who are homebound in the Bemidji area.
Meals will be delivered between 11 a.m. and noon. Organizer Karen Oftelie said in a release that through the generosity of many, over 375 meals will again be delivered free of charge this year. Meal requests must be made by noon on Monday, Nov. 25, to guarantee delivery. Call Oftelie at (218) 368-3601 to make a request for home delivery.

Mobile food drop set for Nov. 25 in Bagley
BAGLEY — North Country Food Bank is partnering with the United Way of Bemidji Area and the Clearwater
County Food Shelf to offer a mobile food distribution from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 25, along Great Northern Drive SW in Bagley. Food will be available from 11 a.m. to noon, or until food runs out. At the events, people can drive up and receive food. Attendees should be mindful not to block driveways, a release said. Those receiving food
will be asked to identify themselves and answer a few simple household questions by staff from North Country Food Bank. The Food Bank is collecting this information to allow access to more food items for these mobiles, the release said. For more information, contact Scott Johnson at (218) 399-7367.
Jerry Gale to speak at United Methodist Church
BEMIDJI — Jerry Gale, founder of Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota, will present “Understanding and Responding to Christian Nationalism,” at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday,
Nov. 26, at United Methodist Church, 924 Beltrami Ave NW.
“Christian nationalism seeks to merge Christian and American identities, damaging both the Christian faith and America’s democracy,” a release said. “It implies that to be a good American, one must be a Christian.”
Gale first became aware of Christian nationalism on Jan. 6, 2021, after seeing footage of Christian symbols being carried by those who broke into the U.S. Capitol. Shortly after, he discovered the website Christians Against Chris-
tian Nationalism.
In January 2024, Gale formed the Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota group and is sharing his message throughout the state. Gale is also a member of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis.
