Apprenticeships and graduate jobs announced at UK’s biggest defence company BAE Systems is set for another record-breaking recruitment drive in 2024 with almost 2,700 new apprentice and graduate opportunities available to young people across the UK.
T
he company has more than doubled its early careers intake in the past five years, making a significant contribution to the UK economy and offering more young people than ever the prospect of exciting long-term careers supporting the nation’s armed forces and security services.
Crucially, I’ve been given the opportunity to learn from the ground up. “It’s been easy to integrate into the business, as many of my colleagues started out as apprentices.” Jason added: “A BAE Systems apprenticeship is intensive, but manageable, as you get a balance of work and spare time. I feel really lucky to be working here and I’m excited for the future.
At BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems site in Rochester the company is recruiting 30 apprentices across a range of levels and also has 29 graduate roles and 34 internships and industrial placements on offer. Jason is in his second year of a technical apprenticeship at BAE Systems in Rochester. He said: “As an ex-soldier, I have a strong interest in the defence sector.
When I left the Army I thought I’d go for an apprenticeship at BAE Systems. I’m finding the apprenticeship to be a nice ‘middle ground’ between the forces and a regular civilian job.
