Beef heifers with promising breeding potential headlined Pakenham’s feature female store cattle sale in late January 2022 where PTIC Charolais heifers sold to a top price of $5,300. The highlight of the sale was 16 Charolais pregnanttested-in-calf heifers, 26-28 months, joined to a Charolais bull which went under the hammer for an impressive $5,300. The pen was sold by Graham Smith, Yarra Junction, and bought by Elders Pakenham agent Kevin Carrolan on behalf of David and Heather Wigg, Maffra.”It’s not often you get beautiful, quiet heifers and that’s why they sold very well.” Report and image courtesy Stock and Land.

Grafton, NSW May 2022 Baryulgil Pastoral have been category winners for Euroinfused weaners for 3 consecutive years at the Annual Feature Weaner sale at Grafton. Their pen of award winning Charolais-cross heifers sold for 618.2c/kg at 288.8kg to gross $1,785.65/head. Their weaner steers pictured above averaged 346.2kg and sold for 598.2c/kg to return $2,070.69.
