Tips and Trends for Spring Home Decor

Flowers will bloom, our days will get longer and our moods a little lighter. Spring is the season of new beginnings and we are all ready for it! This year, more than ever, our homes have been transformed into multi-purpose pods of learning, working and playing. But with hope on the horizon, don’t you think it’s time to spruce up your space to reflect fresh starts and better days ahead? For some advice about how to liven up your living space, we talked with Newtown Square resident and Interior Designer Krissa DeGenarro Wichser. Krissa, Owner of The Blue Octagon, recommends bringing in new, bold colors. “My clients want their homes to feel inviting, safe and energized at the same time,” she says. “They want to sit on their sofas surrounded by

decor that makes them feel good.” Krissa says citrus hues like yellows, corals and pinks will be very popular this spring as well as soft metallic lamps and accessories. For those who might want to keep their space more neutral, she suggests experimenting with elements like raw wood, which brings organic beauty and warmth to any space. Krissa is also a fan of layering textures. “By mixing linens, leathers and velvets, you can keep things neutral but still interesting!” You don’t have to do a complete makeover of what you already have to spruce up for spring.
