JANUARY 2022 ISSUE
Message Happy New Year!! I hope you have all had a great start to this year. I am so excited to share the first newsletter of 2022 with you all. I changed it up a bit so I hope you like the new design! As you’ll see in this newsletter, December was full of events where members were able to bond this holiday season. We had a lot of participation this month and it was great to see your involvement both on the club level and division level. We collectively earned over a hundred service hours and surpassed our goal of funds raised, which would not be possible without all of YOU! Thank you all for continuing to be involved in Key Club, Have a great new year :D Swingin’ for Service,
Bellflower Key Club Editor

WHAT’S SWINGING BELLFLOWER KEY CLUB!! Happy New Year! I hope 2022 brings you all lots of success and joy as we kick off the new year! As we enter January, we are officially entering Elections season! I hope you all have taken quite a lot from this term as members and are ready to take the next step in your Key Club journey! As the end of the term nears, please don’t forget to continue to serve and participate in all of the events that we still have planned, such as Conclave, Banquet, and DCON! We are just over halfway towards our service goal of 1,500 hours! I am also happy to announce that we have officially raised over $650 for our preferred charities, surpassing our club goals! Finally, I’d like to thank our amazing Editor Julissa Grano for this month’s issue of The Monkey Times! I hope you all enjoy this issue! Swingin’ for Service,

updates During the month of December, Bellflower Key Club was able to accumulate over 300 service hours and raise over $100 for PTP. To ring in the holiday season, members were able to serve at the Bellflower Tree Lighting Ceremony, raise funds at our Baskin Robbins fundraiser, hosting a Winter Social + Potluck, and more! We were also able to attend Rose Float Parade Decorating with Bellflower Kiwanis and Region 8 where we were able to participate in a range of activities, from cutting roses to decorating floats, to help prepare for the Rose Parade! On December 19th, Bellflower Key Club attended December DCM: Servathon with Division 13 North and Division 13 South, where we were able to socialize with key clubbers from D13S and participate in a servathon to earn service hours as well.

General Meeting’s
At our December general meetings held on the 3rd and 10th, we recapped past events, reviewed old business as well as new business, promoted upcoming events on the club and division level, and more to keep our members updated and engaged. We heavily promoted the CNH Member Survey as well, to get members to provide feedback to the District! 7
December DCM d13s x d13n
To close out 2021, Division 13 North and Division 13 South gathered at Don Knabe Community Regional Park on December 19th to host December DCM: Servathon! The day was filled with all different sorts of activities and service projects! After splitting into divisions to go over division updates, we gathered once again to participate in a series of icebreakers before participating in different service projects!

Fundraiser Baskin Robbins
We had an amazing turnout at our Baskin Robbins Fundraiser, with support from our members we were able to raise a total of $70, all of which will be donated directly to PTP. Bellflower Key Club cannot wait to host more fundraisers to benefit PTP and other preferred charities throughout the remaining term! 9
Bellflower Key Club
Winter Social + Potluck
10
On December 16th, Bellflower Key Club swung into the holiday spirit with our Winter Social & Potluck that we hosted as our final event of the year, 2021. We wanted to celebrate and reward all of the hard work our members put forth throughout the year by playing games, eating food, and bonding with each other as the year came to an end. During the social, BKC was able to raise $50 for PTP with our "Pie an Officer!" fundraiser. Bellflower Key Club definitely left its members ready for a long-awaited winter break and a jolly holiday season! - Elize Dizon

Rose Float Decorating
10 12
On Saturday, December 18th members from Bellflower Key Club signed up to participate in the Rose Float Parade Decorating Event! Members were able to help decorate the Kiwanis Float while earning service hours. It was a lot of fun being able to work as a team with members from other Key Clubs and getting to know them. It was a great way to help out and bond with other members at the same time!
