Difficulty: Moderately Easy It is a track and field athletics event: competitors must jump over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without any help or device. It looks simple but the High Jump requires speed, agility and technique. here are the 4 component parts of high jump: Approach, Take off, Flight and Landing.
Rules 1 Take-off from one foot only When you start your High Jump, you must leave the ground from a single foot. If you take off from 2 feet, the jump will be disqualified. 2 Don’t touch the ground without first clearing the bar You must not touch the ground or landing area beyond the uprights without first clearing the bar 3. Don’t disturb the bar or the uprights If the bar falls off before you leave the mat it is a failure 4. Receive 3 attempts You are eliminated after three consecutive failures 5. Get off the mat If the bar falls after an athlete has landed and left the mat, it CAN be a failure. It is the decision of the judge. 6. Strive for the highest jump The winner is the person who makes the highest height without knocking over the bar to the ground If there is a tie, the person with the lowest number of failures at that highest height, is the winner. (this means that for example, the jumper who makes a height on his/her first attempt is placed ahead of someone who clears or makes the same height on the second or third attempt)
