Wasaga Beach Lions Club

Bulletin November 2013

We meet 2nd & 4th Mondays at 7 p.m. Social Hour at 6 p.m. at the Lions Den, Rec Plex, 1724 Mosley Street, Wasaga Beach, ON

President’s Message What a great start to our new Lions Year. Since July 1st, our members have brought 8 new members to our club. A special thanks to our sponsors: Lion Steph , Brian, Linda, Fred, Bill and Martin. (I also brought in 2). We welcome Lion Bill, Brenda, Doug, Alda, June, Devlyn, Noreen and Reid. It is always great to welcome new people with new ideas. These members have already jumped in feet first joining committees and participating in Bingo. I would like to extend a special thanks to Lion Stef and Wil who accepted the challenge of cleaning our stove and I am sure that it shines more now than when we bought it! This year, we had the largest number of our members attending our town's Remembrance Day Service. Our hope is to have even more next year and march (all 500 yards) in the parade. What a great way to honour those who have served our country. To date, we have given away over $27,000 to help those locally and around the world. When people ask me what I do in Lions, I tell them "We work hard to raise money so that we can give it away to those less fortunate". So, invite your friends to "Join Lions and have Fun while Helping others"
