Wasaga Beach Lions 2017 Effective Speaking Contest What an amazing competition we had on February 6th. For the first time ever we had 7 students compete in the intermediate level and 8 students for the junior level. We had 1 student from Birchview Dunes, 6 students from St. Noel and 8 students from Worsley The winners for the intermediate level – 1st place – Sydney Lowe (Worsley), 2nd place – Molly Forster(Worsley) and 3rd place – Rebecca Donahue (Worsley) The winners for the junior level – 1st place – Wyatt Warner (Worsley), 2nd place – Mackenzie Gallello (St.Noel), 3rd place – Myah Main (Worsley). Cash prizes were presented to each winner. Also pictured above are Lion Janice Campbell (left)Effective Speaking Chair and Club President Lion Brian Brethauer(R) The 1st and 2nd place winners move onto the Regional competition in March and hopefully onto the District competition. Some of the subject covered included Tim Hortons, Bullying, Summer Camp, Being a Little Sister. We also thank Lioness Nina Bifolchi and Lioness Wendy Sherk for being our judges this year. Watching these students gives all of us faith in our youth. We would like to thank all of the teachers that supported our program and encouraged them to strive to be their best. The Wasaga Beach Lions Club meet 2nd and 4th Monday of the Month in the Lions Den at the RecPlex. Submitted by Lion Janice Campbell
