50th Anniversary of Wasaga Beach Lions Bingo
We discovered that there were 6 ladies present who have supported the bingo for over 40 years. Elizabeth Owen, age 81 and Dorothy McMillan age 80, have enjoyed the bingo for 40 years, and Mary Kopacz age 82 for 44 years. We just couldn't believe that 3 of the ladies have been playing our bingo for the entire 50 years. Marie Babe, age 85, Norma Oldfield, age 93 and Terry McIntosh age 96! The ladies told us that our bingo is one of the things that keep them alert with an active mind and our bingo gives them an opportunity to socialize with their friends. One of the ladies, Norma Oldfield, showed us the journal that she kept of her bingo winnings and over the 50 years, she had won $23,815. This was an amazing record to see. Just wanted to share a picture with you all. The local Walmart in Wasaga Beach was taken over by bikers this past Thursday Night!!! However, they were there shopping for Sick Kids hospital. They are Veterans Canada NATO/UN Borden Barrie Riding Group. In the picture is Shift Manager Jonathon, who was very helpful. Also thanks to Debbie in pharmacy for helping me set this up.
