Governor’s Newsletter District A-12 District Governor Len Day Issue No.6 December 2016
My A-12 Lions Family Dear Lions Family I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas a Happy Hanukkah a fabulous Festivus and prosperous New Year. The Lions in District A12 are great people that make a difference every day in their community. This is a time of year that the Lions help is needed more that ever supplying food hampers and toys, cooking dinners for the needy and so many other things that you do just because it is the right thing to do. Where there is a need there is a Lion giving people a Hand Up. I cannot believe that we are half way thought the Lions year. Every one of our Lions Clubs are active in working to support the four Centennial Service Challenge Campaigns by Engaging our Youth, Sharing the Vision, Relieving the Hunger, and Protecting the Environment. Many of the Clubs are also increasing the connection with their community by conducting and compiling Legacy Projects. The World is still begging for more Lions as we are being asked to provide more service every day. The only way to provide that service is to increase our members with members that will make an impact in our Clubs and in our service to others. As a leader, it is my responsibility to help produce new leaders and I am glad to say that this is happening. Every day different Lions step up to make sure things get done. We have many Lions that are inspiring people to join our organization and help us to lead through the services we provide. The A12 Lions are listening to the voices that say, yes you can and don't give up. We are doing more to help give a hand up to those that need it. We are seeing a glass that is half full and finding ways to fill it. We are looking for the New Mountains to Climb every day. We are providing the leadership to provide the service that is required in our communities and around the world. The A12 Lions are “Loving Individuals Offering Needed Service.” Thank you for the work that you continue to do to make life better for so many people. Take some time to reflect on all the good that you do giving people a Hand Up in Life. Remember the reasons that you became a LION and share those reasons with your friends and family. Take some time and celebrate your beliefs and enjoy this holiday season. If you are traveling at this time of year may your journey be a safe one. Take the time that is needed to be with your family and thank them for understanding that sometimes Lions and the work we do may take you away from them at times. Remind your family that they are important and without them and their support we could not do what we do. As Lions we still have lots to do and I know that the Lions will finish what we started. Have a great holiday season. Enjoy
Merry Christmas
Best Wishes from DG Len Day and the entire A-12 District Cabinet
