BIMA 100
This is the BIMA 100 of 2019 Of all BIMA’s many events, the BIMA 100 is one of our favourites. Alongside our Awards, this is our biggest celebration of talent across the digital and tech community - a chance to recognise the incredible talent and commitment individuals bring to our industry. Every year we recognise people at different stages of their careers, working in distinct areas and on many missions. These people are challenging themselves. Often, they’re also challenging the industry, helping digital and tech in Britain move forward.
Natalie Gross Tarek Nseir Presidents
The BIMA 100 is made up of talented people from across the spectrum of digital. Some are building big reputations with global brands, like Zaynah Din of Facebook or Microsoft’s Jodie Rogers. Like Richard Brisley of Sagittarius they may be working in cutting-edge Ai. They could be setting new standards in leadership, like Digirank’s Karen Pearce.
Or perhaps they are championing the rights of the neurodivergent and helping more people into tech careers, like Paul Davenport of Abbots Lea School. Take a look at our 100, and you’ll find a wonderfully rich and diverse cross section of our community. That’s particularly appropriate this year as we highlight the critical work led by our Diversity and Inclusion Council. The Voices of Our Industry – BIMA Tech Inclusion & Diversity Report 2019 shows that whilst the growth and potential of our industry is indisputable, our industry is not without its challenges. We know diverse backgrounds are critical to our industry achieving its full potential, yet under-representation, discrimination, mental health, stress and anxiety are all having a profound effect, and are all challenges we need to work together to overcome.
By truly understanding and addressing those challenges, and by celebrating the incredible individuals who are working in our digital community, we can break barriers to ensure ours is an industry for all and a model for wider society. And that’s what makes this year’s BIMA 100 so poignant. Because not only do we get to celebrate having an abundance of industry-changing talent. We also get to take heart from the fact that, just when we need real champions and role models to help pave the way for change and to encourage more people from the most diverse backgrounds into our phenomenal industry, we get to celebrate 100 of them. Congratulations to our BIMA 100 2019. Natalie Gross & Tarek Nseir Presidents
