iedel, the wine glass company, teamed up with local Livermore winery, McGrail Vineyards for an amazing night of wine and stemware education. My husband, Mike, and I joined Susan Dubrow from Riedel, to taste several McGrail wine varietals. Each wine was chosen to highlight both the depth of the wine and the ability of the Riedel glassware to reveal its individual character. We learned all about Enjoying the Pinot Noir in the Riedel Pinot Noir glass the principles of wine tasting and appreciation, the relationship between each wine’s bouquet, texture, flavor, and finish (what the Riedel calls “the message” of the wine), and the influence of wine glass architecture on the experience and character of each varietal. Our minds were truly blown by how much each glass either enhanced the flavors of the wine or muted them.
