A

recently-held fundraiser by the Blackhawk Women’s Tennis Association (BWTA) raised enough money for one scholarship for a deserving local woman. The proceeds were donated to the Blackhawk Women’s Scholarship Fund (BWSF) for use as a college scholarship to be awarded in May, 2020. BWSF awards college scholarships to financially-challenged women residing in Contra Costa County. To learn more about BWSF follow this link: bwscholarshipfund.com.

Morning tennis was enjoyed at the Blackhawk Tennis Villas including mimosas, cappuccinos, and delicious refreshments. A gourmet luncheon featuring crab towers and salmon was served at the Lakeside Dining Room following the tennis and silent auction festivities. Brianna Rivera, a 2018 BWSF scholarship recipient, was on hand to share how meaningful it was for her to receive a scholarship. Approximately 40 tennis players participated in raising money for this worthy cause. BWTA and BWSF thanks everyone who helped organize and participate in the event.
