School Support Services provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources and information necessary to achieve academic success. A branch of Child & Youth Services (CYS), School Support Services features School Liaison Officers (SLOs), who help schools, installations and Families work together for student achievement. SLOs are your best support in the area of education, schools and Military transitions. SLOs are knowledgeable in current education news and policies. They act as the conduit between the school community – including local public school districts, private schools and home school Families – and the installation. TORNILLO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

www.tisd.us/ Tornillo Independent School District (ISD) is located approximately 35 miles southeast of El Paso. This district is one of 12 school districts in the Region 19 Education Service Center area. Students are taught in four campuses: Tornillo Elementary (Pre K through 3rd grade), Tornillo Intermediate (4th through 6th grade), Tornillo Junior High (7th and 8th grade) and Tornillo High (9th through 12th grade).

GADSDEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

http://www.gisd.k12.nm.us/ The Gadsden ISD consists of 23 educational facilities and two administrative facilities, educating the children of southern Doña Ana County and Southern Otero county of New Mexico. Covering an area of 1,400 square miles, the district educates approximately 14,000 students in programs stretching from preschool through the 12th grade. With four Pre-K Centers, 15 elementary schools, three middle schools and four high schools, the education of the students of southern New Mexico is their primary goal. FABENS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

The growth of Fort Bliss has created mobility into neighboring El Paso County towns/cities of Clint, San Elizario and Horizon. Each campus has resources to accommodate families as needed. Fabens ISD works in partnership with Communities in Schools (CIS) Program Coordinators who support all four campuses with network links for Military support. One large partner is the Child Crisis Center of El Paso, home to the Military Families and Veterans Prevention Program (MFVPP), who offer services in the Fabens area as needed.

Canutillo ISD is working to create a cohesive Military connected program to include parent engagement, resources, and a strong foundation for Military culture at all campuses. Canutillo ISD aims to provide strategies to promote resilience in students and is committed to a diverse community and the high number of Active-Duty Military Families they serve. All Canutillo ISD school campuses provide student ambassadors, which play an important role in providing support to all students during difficult transition times. Canutillo ISD has 6 elementary campuses, two middle schools, one early college and one traditional high school. Additionally, Canutillo ISD provides resources for families to become connected within the community, and offers training for school staff to best deliver system support school-wide and in the classroom environment. They are working hard to achieve more Purple Star designated campuses and proudly have Reyes Elementary as a Purple Star Award campus. Canutillo ISD is a premier district and welcomes all Military Families to the El Paso/Canutillo region.

ANTHONY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

anthonyisd.net Anthony ISD proudly serves more than 800 students in Anthony, Texas near the Texas-New Mexico border. A tight-knit community of dedicated teachers, staff and administration lead Anthony ISD’s three campuses – Anthony Elementary School, Anthony Middle School, and Anthony High School. The district is led by Superintendent Dr. Oscar A. Troncoso, a retired U.S. Navy veteran who was mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Anthony ISD school counselors serve as Military liaisons and are committed to easing the transition of Military students into the district’s schools. Each campus has also established student ambassadors to create a support system for transitioning Military students and often host events to recognize the selfless sacrifices by our nation’s Military members. Find a warm and welcoming environment at the westernmost tip of Texas and in the small town of Anthony!

EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

www.episd.org/ Founded in 1883, the El Paso ISD offers high quality educational services for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. EPISD is a large, open enrollment district with 78 school campuses that serve a diverse, bicultural population. EPISD is consistently the #1 choice of Fort Bliss families with Military-connected students consistently representing more than 10% of total enrollment. With six schools on the installation itself, EPISD boasts some of the city’s most modern facilities as 17 schools have recently been renovated or reconstructed. EPISD has invested heavily in support of our Military-connected students and their families with 10 schools earning recognition from the Texas Education Agency as “Purple Star” campuses.

YSLETA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

www.yisd.net/ Ysleta ISD has launched several programs designed to give students a competitive edge upon graduating from high school. The district now offers five Early College High Schools, as well as college- and career-preparation courses at all of its high schools that include dual-credit, OnRamps courses, and industry certifications. Ysleta ISD also offers four international schools that provide core instruction in global academic subjects while teaching fluency in languages other than English (Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, and German). In Fall 2022, the district will offer Universal Pre-K For All at its two pre-K centers and select elementary schools, as well as preschool opportunities for 3-year-olds. Ysleta ISD also made history in 2016 when it opened the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, El Paso’s first-ever single-gender, college-preparatory public school for girls in grades 6-12, which graduates its first class in Spring 2022!

CLINT INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

https://www.clintweb.net/ The Clint ISD encompasses a diverse, geographically large area (379.9 square miles) within the Upper Rio Grande border region, 25 miles east of El Paso. The Far East El Paso area is one of the fastest developing areas in the county. With an enrollment of a little over 11,000 students, Clint ISD has 14 campuses – four high schools, four middle/junior high schools and six elementary schools. Of the nearly 1,200 districts in the state, Clint is among the top 100 in student population. The District employs 1450 full-time staff. The District’s 700 teachers are among the highest paid compared to other District’s in the county. Of the 9 school districts in El Paso County, Clint is the largest in square mileage and has great potential for growth.

SOCORRO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

https://www.sisd.net/ The Socorro ISD has a long tradition of assisting Military-connected families and serves 6,016 Military-connected students across the district. They maximize support services by providing Military and family life counselors and access to local agencies such as NAMI, the YWCA, Child Guidance Center, local daycare providers and the Paso del Norte Family Leadership Council. There are 45 Socorro ISD schools that have been awarded the prestigious Texas Purple Star Campus designation by the Texas Education Agency for supporting Militaryconnected students and families. The district hosts numerous activities and events at campuses and the district level to engage with parents serving in the Military and their children. Socorro ISD offers a Military Active Spouses Program, which enables Military-connected parents to interact with each other and other Military-connected families plus a Parent Military Advisory Council that further connects parents and the district.
