Fort Bliss is home to some very unique entertainment locations. There’s so much to do on post conveniently close to home. Some of the MWR facilities are one of a kind or considered the largest in the Army. Some feature snack bars and have casual dining. Others include travel services, hobby shop, auto care and libraries to help enhance your experience at Fort Bliss.

Desert Strike Lanes Bowling Center & Strike Zone Snack Bar

Desert Strike Lanes is the largest bowling center in the Army! This 52-lane state of the art bowling center is a great place to let the good times roll! “Your Lane, Your Way” technology allows players to choose their scoring and personalize their games. Check out the Pro Connection, it’s fully stocked for all your bowling needs. Feed your hunger at the Strike Zone snack bar, it is a full service food and beverage kitchen with a great short-order and pizza menu. The Warrior Zone is a state of the art recreation facility that boasts 16 gaming pits which feature Playstation and Xbox. There are 48 computers with Common Access Card (CAC) access available. There’s GoPrint availability for printing. The Warrior Zone also has a theater room where you can choose from hundreds of movie options. Enjoy pool tables, card tables and board games in addition to all the other options. The Zone Bar & Grill is a full service snack bar that also proudly serves Starbucks coffee beverages. This is a great adult only location to relax and unwind. Monti Warrior Zone is open to patrons, ages 18 and older only. Events to watch out for are monthly “UFC fights” free admission with food and drink specials. Fort Bliss Underwood Golf Complex

What better way to get out and enjoy the Southwest’s warm climate than by playing golf at the Underwood Golf Complex, featuring the desert landscaping of the Sunrise Golf Course and the lush, parkland-style of the Sunset Course. Novice and seasoned professionals will love this golfer’s paradise. The complex has a lighted driving range, two practice putting greens, golf carts and a computerized handicap service. Underwood also offers an 18 hole disc golf course. Explore Underwood’s Performance Center equipped with the Trackman golf radar and simulator. You can even order food at the Golden Tee. It offers a full-service menu and has a fullystocked bar. Full service catering is also available for up to 240 seated. The Underwood Golf Complex is open to the public and does not require a pass for access. Children, ages 17 and younger, must be accompanied by an adult.

Events to watch out for are tournaments such as “Night Golf in July,” “Turkey and Ham Shoot outs.” Old Fort Bliss Replica

The Old Fort Bliss Replica is a reconstruction of the fort at the Magoffinsville site. A gift from the citizens of El Paso, the site serves as a cultural educational center focused on the daily life and traditions in the region of Paso Del Norte during the late 1850s. Self-guided tours take approximately 30-minutes and guided tours are available by appointment. The Old Fort Bliss Replica is available to rent for private events.

The Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club has one of the best trap and skeet ranges in the tri-state area. The Centennial Banquet and Conference Center is one of the largest conference centers in the area. There have been various special occasions hosted at this venue from conferences, weddings to military balls, proms and quinces. They offer a seating capacity of more than 1,110 and have full in-service and offsite catering available. They even service lunch throughout the week, Tuesday to Friday for a set price of all-youcan-eat. You could win big with Bingo Bliss at the Metro Bar every Wednesday and Saturday night.

Wait there’s more, inside you’ll find the Samuel Adams Pub, a full service bar that also proudly serves Samuel Adams beers. Bingo Bliss is open to patrons ages 18 and older. Centennial events to watch out for are “Designer Hand Bag Bingo,” “Yappy Hour” held from April until August, and “Holiday brunches.” Art & Hobby Shop

The Fort Bliss Art & Hobby Shop is a place filled with artful inspiration. It is designed to bring up Soldier and Family morale, encourage self-improvement and enrich your creative skills. Artistic or not, take advantage of what this facility has to offer. There’s pottery classes, arcylic painting, stained glass mosiacs, ceramic pouring, drawing, sewing, silk screening and much more! They offer other services for your creative needs such as Cricut, engraving and framing.

This facility is open to novice and seasoned patrons. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a participating adult at all times. An event to look forward to is “Dia de los Muertos Cars & Crafts” in October. Fort Bliss Auto Crafts

Fort Bliss MWR Auto Crafts is here to help you with your vehicles. The do-it-yourself auto shop has 11 bays with lifts, five bays without lifts, and one pit. The cost is $10 per hour.

Hobbyists can perform routine maintenance on their vehicle such as oil and filter changes, tire rotation, lubrication and radiator flushing. Vehicle storage is available for more long-term projects. Certified mechanics provide detailed work such as brake jobs, complete with disk and drum turning.

They also provide Texas State Inspection validation services. If you are planning to work on your own vehicle, the Automotive Skills Shop has a 30-minute safety orientation that patrons must attend before using shop equipment.

The cost for safety orientation is $5 and it is offered Tuesday through Friday at 9 a.m., except for training holidays.

Leisure Travel Services (LTS) has multiple services they provide to Soldiers and Families. They handle unit fund related transactions such as requesting funds for authorized events/purchases. It also runs the Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Resale Lot, located at 1717 Marshall Road parking lot. If you are looking to sell your vehicle, it is $25 per vehicle and $40 for RVs and boats. There’s a new additional service for $25 to advertise your vehicle on the Fort Bliss POV Resale Lot Facebook page.

There’s still more that LTS has to offer, such as tickets to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Disneyworld, Seaworld and more! LTS offers tickets at a discounted price for Military personnel. Take advantage and stop by to see what else they have to offer. Mickelsen Community Library

Mickelsen Community Library is a wonderful place to be, where stories are read to toddlers and children can even build robots in the Makerspace. That’s right, children and adults are able to invent, sew, use the 3-D printer for a certain fee.

Explore, read and invent something new at Mickelsen Community Library. There are more than 40,000 books, 13 magazines in digital format, DVDs and video games available to check out and access to CACenabled computers. Activities to look for are Harry Potter Book Night and Summer Reading Program.

The Fort Bliss RV Park office is open daily and offers an after-hours night host to assist late arrivals. ActiveDuty and retirees can now sign in their immediate Family members, who want to utilize the Fort Bliss RV Park, on a space available basis.

The RV park is equipped with 133 pull-through, full-hookup spaces complete with electricity, water and sewer conveniences, playground, RV storage with 24hour access and more. If you have a pet, there’s a dog walk available for use. Biggs Park

Biggs Park offers so much to do outside! There are sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, softball fields, tennis courts, 1.2 mile track with exercise stations, a large covered playground, pavilion rental opportunities for Military units, Active-Duty service members and Families. Wait there’s more, a newly renovated Splash Park, horseshoe pits, picnic areas, tables, grills, pavilions with electricity and lights and multi-purpose fields.

The following items are prohibited at Biggs Park: propane, glass containers and all pets.

Enjoy night laser tag at Biggs Park on central Fort Bliss held one Friday each month. Outdoor Recreation has the gear; all you need to do is show up! Admission is $12 per person and includes equipment rental. Biggs Park is home to many of MWR’s special events such as Pop Goes the Fort and Oktoberfest, read pages 21-25.
