Moving to a new place can be very stressful, especially if you’re moving with pets. Many questions run through your mind, “what do I need to do?” “what documents do I need to have?” Fear not, Fort Bliss Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF) has all the answers for an easy transition to and from the installation. The VTF is professionally staffed by Army Veterinary Corps personnel with the primary mission of providing complete veterinary care for all military family owned animals. All pets living on-post must be registered with the VTF upon arrival. If you are planning to live on the installation, there may be a limit of how many and breed of pets allowed, for more information call Fort Bliss Family Homes at 915-564-0795.
The VTF offers many types of routine care services, however, due to limited man-power and resources, most veterinary emergency cases are best served through a full-service civilian veterinary hospital.
Additional services provided at the VTF are wellness exams, vaccinations, microchip implantations and sick call appointments – as long as a veterinarian is available upon appointment. There are X-Ray and ultrasound capabilities available. Other services provided are spays, neuters and dentals for dogs and cats.
