This Labor Day weekend, we will debut our first annual “The New Sounds of Nashville” in partnership with Broadcast Music, Inc., a leader in the music industry. As part of our Artist in Residence series, this weekend-long singer-songwriter experience will give you a behind-the-scenes look into creating top Grammy-winning songs. We’ve curated Music City’s best talent for intimate experiences across the Resort, from a sail on the catamaran cruise to our finale event, End of Summer Celebration & LobsterBash, which features performances by CMA New Male Vocalist winner Rodney Atkins and CMA-nominated RaeLynn. Nashville is the birthplace of many beloved songs, from rock ‘n’ roll to pop to country… this not-to-be-missed event will cater to all music lovers. Throughout the weekend, enjoy pop-ins of fashion, food, wellness and more with evening entertainment featuring our Nashville singer-songwriters. Thanks to your positive feedback and our incredible team, Lucca was recently recognized with two prestigious awards in the luxury category – Wine Spectator’s 2018 Award of Excellence and Hilton Diners’ Choice Top Restaurant for 2017. We continually evolve our restaurant experiences and encourage you to sample our seasonal menu items, along with the new menu at SeaGrille crafted by Chef Jordan. Morimoto is offering a two-way marinated sea bass appetizer this month. The first is our famous “Kochujan Aioli,” which provides a nice, spicy flavor. The second is our savory “Shio Koji” sauce. Koji is a fermenting catalyst know as Japanese “yeast.” It is used in making products like soy sauce, miso paste and sake. The marinated sea bass is then roasted on our sushi bar oven and served!

JEFF NORRIS An energetic whirlwind of stand-up comedy and great impressions, Jeff Norris is a favorite at numerous comedy clubs across the USA with his clean act and many voices. He has wowed audiences at The Riviera and Tropicana in Las Vegas, The Borgata in Atlantic City, and Caroline’s and Dangerfield’s in NYC, to name a few. Jeff has been seen in many forms of the entertainment field: radio, film, tv shows and commercials. Television and film credits include HBO’s Oz and Boardwalk Empire, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Anger Management and Saturday Night Live.

MICHELE BALAN Using her quick wit and savvy sense of humor, Michele found herself in high demand performing regularly at Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club and The Comic Strip Live. Los Angeles came calling and Michele headed out west where she became a regular fixture at the Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory and the Hollywood Improv. Soon NBC tapped her to appear on Last Comic Standing where she was a finalist and The Last Woman Comic Standing on Season 4.

PHIL TAG You’ll recognize this hilariously quick-witted New Jersey native from his numerous television appearances including The Tonight Show, Showtime and Comedy Central. Phil Tag is a New York based comedian, writer and actor who headlines Las Vegas and Atlantic City, as well as corporate events, and was also a writer for Saturday Night Live! He was the head writer/associate producer of the comedy sports show Unsportsmanlike Conduct and had his own segment called Tag You’re It where he interviewed fans and did comedic sketches with celebrity athletes. 30

EVIDENCE SUGGESTS THAT

INCREASED BLOOD FLOW to the brain means more oxygen and nutrients in, while flushing toxins out. However, will exercise help older adults? What about those who already have some cognitive impairment, even early dementia? What type of exercise, how much and for how long? A group of exercise physiologists in Australia scrutinized the research to try to answer those questions. They determined that any moderate cardio exercise performed regularly for at least 45 minutes, regardless of frequency or length, improved multiple cognitive functions, as did resistance training. These results were seen regardless of baseline cognition, meaning even people with early dementia saw benefits! The authors were confident that many types of exercise can improve memory and that it is important to focus on developing specific exercise prescriptions tailored to improving specific cognitive functions. According to the Harvard Medical School, this study provides further evidence in support of an active lifestyle generally, and an exercise plan specifically. Do you want to boost your brain function?
