A LITTLE CHURCH HUMOR There was a Minister whose wife was expecting a baby.

The Minister went to the congregation and asked for a raise. After much consideration and discussion, they passed a rule that when the Minister's family expanded, so would his pay check.

After five or six children, this started to get expensive. The congregation decided to hold a meeting again to discuss the Minister's pay situation. You can imagine there was much bickering. Finally, the Minister got up and spoke to the crowd, "Having children is an act of God!" In the back of the room, a little old man with a full beard stood up, and in his frail voice said... "Snow and Rain are also 'acts of God', but when we get too much, we wear rubbers!"

Sacred Mountains of Power Mountains inspire us. As the highest point in a natural landscape, they draw our gaze upwards from the everyday, to the heavens above. Certain mountains are particularly powerful as beautiful, majestic pinnacles of God’s handiwork. Some people are inspired to write about or paint them; while for others they are the objects of their devotions. The power of some mountains seems so great that people are drawn, as if by an invisible magnet, and will undergo untold hardships to attempt to climb to their summits.

When I first visited Ben Hope, a sacred mountain in the uppermost Highlands of Scotland, I felt an ancient force that seemed to have existed forever. Sacred geometry and other studies show us that Ben Hope and many other sacred places around the world are not just haphazard rock formations. They are often aligned on ancient places of power, such as the crossing of major ley lines or the Earth’s natural lines of force.

As I wrote last month in my article on The Earth, indigenous culture, ancient civilizations and enlightened individuals through the centuries have honored and been aware of the natural energies of Mother Earth and have attempted to live in harmony with Her. They have also revered Her mountains, and the nature spirits of these places which imbue the moun-

tains with a particular life, power and energy.

In the lecture - Sacred Mountains of Power (see separate ad for details), I shall discuss sacred places of power throughout the world and present beautiful Powerpoint images of these places. I shall also focus on nineteen holy mountains that are particularly relevant to us in this New Age. Why? Because the energy contained within these mountains is such that any person who climbs them and prays for the world, can radiate through themselves as much spiritual energy as could an adept in the past.

Poetry is one of the most beautiful and artistic ways a person can express himself. Persian poet-thinker Hosain Mosavat expresses himself in three masterfully written books of poetry that bring together a lifetime of work that touches the heart and soothes the soul of the reader.

Get Fit with "No Exercising, Exercises"!

I love how it feels to be fit. I love how it looks to be fit.

I admire people of all ages that move supplely with beauty and grace. I know I could be among them, but it would take some work. Health is a main focus in my life and I truly understand how important it is to take care of the physical body. I take excellent, absorbable supplements and eat well, but I knew I was neglecting the fitness aspect of health.

A few years ago, I thought about this and came up with a workable plan. I knew I wouldn't go to a gym or do a serious lengthy exercise program, so I designed a program just for me to get in shape.

It wouldn’t take much--just get up a little earlier and walk/ jog for 10 minutes every day. Then, before lunch, just 10 minutes of stretching exercises. Then, before the end of the day, fit in 10-15 minutes of serious fitness work on the elliptical machine. That is the simple, not very challenging fitness program I designed for myself. Three tiny exercise periods inside my busy day. I will get fit and feel good about it!

Now, after figuring out how I could do this, I should be able to accomplish it, right? Well, not really. I can count on my fingers how many times I managed to accomplish 3 short exercise periods inside my day. Several times, I thought about exercising and then decided to get back to that project I was working on or the book I was reading. I’m not sure what that says about my mental state and commitment level, to admire people that are fit and go as far as to set up a program that should work for me, and then ignore it on purpose. I was concerned, but when I asked other people, exercise avoidance seemed to be a universal problem.

So how to stay fit? I set up what seemed to be an idiot-proof exercise schedule and still managed to avoid exercising.

Yet, being fit is part of my belief system. I decided that I had

to imbed exercise inside my day, because I know I won’t follow a schedule. That’s when I came up with my No Work Out, No Schedule, Not Really Exercising Exercise Program.

was by toning the abdominal muscles. Always consult a doctor or professional, but it seemed to work for me. The backaches went away!

Dancing with everything-- Some women aspire to dance with the stars. I dance with baskets of laundry. When I am doing mundane chores around the house, I crank up the oldies station (use whatever form of music makes you want to move). When I lift up something to put it away, I usually spin around with it like I am dancing. (I try to make sure that no one is nearby with their camera. I can just imagine how silly it would look on the Internet!) You will be amazed at how many items you lift and move in a given day. Tiny tip-toe ballerina steps or doing the bunny hop to put away light objects is more exercise than you would think. Moving through the house with sliding, gliding steps to put away that one shoe that ended up in the living room almost feels a bit like Tai Chi. I have waltzed my son’s backpack full of books all the way to his bedroom, gave it a final dip and tossed it to the bed with a flourish. It’s cool to finally be able to lead when I am dancing!

Other tips include: Walk just a little more. Park further from the door when you shop. Make one lap around the store before you begin shopping. Gardening can be a form of exercising in nature. Walk your dog. Begin dancing during commercials. Tone the arm muscles by doing several arm curls with items you move to a different spot. Take the stairs when you can. If you are going up higher than the second or third floor, take one flight of stairs and then catch the elevator on the second floor. Put more movement into your regular routine whenever you can. Small things add up!

Watching TV-- I have my TV in the same room with my elliptical machine. I almost put it in the basement where exercise equipment belongs, but remembered the exercise bike and rowing machine that lived down there for almost 3 years before I gave them away, practically unused. The handlebars made excellent drying racks for damp clothes. I tried the workout while watching TV method. Didn’t work.

Then I switched to using it during commercials. That seems to work better. Experiment and find what works for you.

Abs-- Like most women that have borne children, my abs could use some extra attention. Sit-ups? Don’t think so, too much like real exercise and I can’ t seem to imaginatively incorporate them into my ‘exercise without exercising’ program. I have tried to make them fun by having a very young child sit on my ankles and when I sit up I tickle them.

Then down and up again. Still feels like exercise, so I seldom do them. This toning tip was in a woman’s magazine decades ago. A few times a day...tighten up the abdominal muscles and hold it for a short time...that’s it! Imagine you are attempting to have your belly button touch your spine.

Then try to increase the time you hold the abdominal muscles in tight. It's more difficult than it seems, but with practice most people can extend the length of time they hold in their abdominal muscles. It seems to improve posture too.

One thing I do that feels like real exercise but isn’t too awful is to do morning leg lifts before I get out of bed. I turn so I am sitting on the edge of the bed, then lay back and very slowly lift my legs as high as I can and then very slowly lower them down. I do a minimum of 10, but try to do more if I feel like it.

I admire people that can stick to a schedule and exercise daily. I’m finally accepting that I’m not one of them, but I want to do something to insure I stay fit and healthy. I make sure I eat well and supplement wisely. If I manage to work up a sweat, I drink a healthy energy drink--ACT from Total Health Foods is my favorite, and I do my 'no exercising, exercises'. Extending Youth Aging of the body is the rate of degeneration of the body balanced against its rate of tissue regeneration.

While it is thought to be related to chronological time, aging is not directly related to time at all.

One person may become very feeble in their forties while another may be very vibrant into their nineties or beyond.

As we age, free radicals damage the walls and nucleus of our cells. Free radicals are now considered the main cause of disease and aging. They are unstable cells that are created by “stress”, toxicity, nutritional deficiencies, and poor diet and lifestyle choices. Their damage is usually observed on the skin in the form of wrinkles and brown spots.

But the greater damage is deeper inside, in the vital organs, joints, and muscles.

The damage is worse in older bodies, because they tend to produce fewer antioxidants, the free radical “gobblers”.

When the body slows down, it is because it is overburdened with all the toxins it has accumulated over the years.

Toxin buildup can lead to circulatory and digestive problems, slowing of glandular production and an abundance of health problems. Without the proper quantity of digestive enzymes, there is an increase in the rate of malnutrition, and a lifetime of impacted feces.

Toxicity also causes an immune system weakness. Microbes increase, causing more toxins and damage as their waste adds to the existing situation. Now we have an aged unhealthy person, a person who has poor quality circulation, poor digestion, increasing quantities of free radicals, chemical poisonings, poor elimination and decreased nutrition to

the cells. This is called the aging process and “dis-ease”.

Disease can be described as a pattern of symptoms. Most of us try to eliminate the patterns of symptoms, declaring the problem solved, while the preconditions that created the condition remains. Not solving the cause of the diseases adds to the aging process, as well as later bringing on new symptoms or even the old ones back.

The causes of disease and its associated symptoms are what increase aging. Aging is the result of a bad diet, poor digestion, malnutrition, and toxicity that cause free radical damage and imbalance to the tissues and cells. This is the number one cause of poor health.

When there are toxins, they are continuously released into the body, creating damage. So the cleaner and purer food is, the more perfect the digestion and the cleaner the colon and body tissues become, and the younger and healthier we are. Enzyme supplementation, matched to the body’s specific needs, can help to promote better digestion, and hence better health.

Specific individual non-invasive testing can determine the best foods to eat, the need for digestive enzymes, toxin reducing agents, and the nutrients needed to slow down aging and reduce the production of free radicals. Magic Oils What if there were magic oils that could help unborn babies become smarter, and help kids recover more quickly from illnesses while improving their mental abilities, attention span, and reading abilities? What if adults could avoid pain, diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, and more?

What if there were even tests available to see if you had enough of this magic oil? The good news is that the answer is yes to all of the above! Here’s how it works: From babies to adults, obtaining the proper ratio of Omega3’s to Omega-6’s oils is critically important. Although studies are just beginning to show how Omega-3’s have been helpful in treating hypertension, coronary heart disease, arthritis, cancer, and other inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, my experience has already shown that they are invaluable. And my patients have often told me how these oils have made a difference in their lives.

The two types of Omega-3’s are EPA and DHA. Both have special areas of importance. The gray matter of the brain is made of DHA so it is most important for normal brain function.

In a recent study, poor reading levels, memory problems, and behavioral problems were associated with low levels of DHA. The normal growth and development in children and babies depend upon a healthy amount of these oils. And it is very, very important for pregnant mothers to ensure that the baby’s brain develops properly.

These oils are called essential because they cannot be manufactured by the body so they must be obtained through diet or dietary supplements. In the past, when most people lived close to oceans, seafood provided a good source of Omega-3’s. In today’s world, we must limit our consumption of fish (especially certain kinds of fish) to avoid mercury and other contaminants.

The best sources of Omega-3’s are certain wild-caught ocean fish, eggs, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and grass-fed red meats.

Certain animals have the ability to consume grasses and leaves that are high in Omega-3 oils and convert them for our use. However, it’s important to be 100% grass fed since the Omega-3 oils in their bodies quickly plummet when they are fed grains. The longer they eat grain, the greater the fatty acid imbalance becomes which then becomes passed on to us as consumers.

Vegans and vegetarians may obtain Omega-3 oils from algae or convert a portion of the flaxseed oil which is in a form called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) into Omega-3 oils. Other sources of ALA that need to be converted include certain nuts and seeds and dark, green leafy vegetables.

In the past, Omega-6 oils were obtained by foraging for raw nuts and seeds – hunter/ gatherer style. Today, we can purchase good quality Omega-6 oils such as primrose oil, borage oil, black currant seed oil, sesame seed oil, sunflower seed oil, and hempseed oil.

Although the biochemical pathway of Omega-6 oils ends with arachidonic acid (AA) an excess of which leads to inflammation, the function of this inflammation is somewhat controversial. Having a proper ratio between your Omega-6 and Omega-3 oils and avoiding unhealthy, processed oils is most important.

When Omega-6 oils are processed, they are toxic to the body. The four processed and genetically modified oils that must always be avoided include: soybean oil, canola oil, corn oil, and cottonseed oil. Other unhealthy Omega-6 oils come from grain fed beef (not grass-fed), processed foods, and hydrogenated oils.

Almost all oils used by restaurants for cooking, frying, or preserving food are processed Omega-6 oils. Prepared foods are also made with these unhealthy oils. Unless we go out of our way to eat natural foods, we can easily end up with an unhealthy ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 oils.

Our ancestors evolved from a diet that contained roughly equal amounts of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fats. Ideally, the ratio should be somewhere between 3.5:1 and 1:1. Instead, the ratio for most Americans is estimated to be 25:1.

People who already have an imbalance in their Omega-6 to Omega-3 oils often depend on some of the modern day NAISD’s (Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs) to handle their pain. But these are bad news. This is a category of drugs known as COX-2 inhibitors. COX-2 is the enzyme involved with inflammation.

The good news is that by taking at least 3 grams which is equivalent to two tablespoons or six standard capsules of good Omega-3 fish oil, the Cox-2 enzyme is blocked. This reduces pain and inflammation without the harmful side effects of the drugs.

Before taking Omega-3 oils, make sure they are fresh and free of toxins. The better oils are micro-filtered. Once a bottle of oil is opened (whether capsules or liquid), store them in the refrigerator to keep them from going rancid. Don’t waste money on inexpensive oils that won’t do the job of protecting your body and your mind. Fish oil houses where they process the fish can have 10 levels of oil quality all being produced from the same location. You don’t want to get your oil from the bottom of the fish barrel.

They wanted uniform vitamin A and D quantities for labeling purposes (and the fish weren’t cooperating) so the natural vitamin A and D was destroyed and replaced with synthetic vitamins.

Have you or someone you know had an amazing talent since a young age? Have you ever felt very attracted to another country despite never having been there in this lifetime? Or, have you instantly disliked someone the first time you met them and have no idea why? Perhaps you have a fear of water or some other phobia and have no explanation for why you have this fear. The answers to all of the above questions may be found in a past life.

You may not be aware of this, but early Christianity did not reject the notion of reincarnation. It was not until the emperor Constantine convened the Council of Nicea, that the idea of reincarnation was removed from the religion. The belief in reincarnation actually lasted until about 553 A.D. Many countries accept the idea that we have lived before.

What if you have lived before? Would you like to know who you may have been? Would you like to know if you had some talents in a previous life? Perhaps you can even bring back some of these talents by going to one of your previous incarnations.

As an example, suppose you are struggling with anxiety or fear in this lifetime. Wouldn’t it be terrific if you could go back to a life where you were quite brave or courageous and actually bring back some of that courage with you? This actually is possible. Perhaps something traumatic happened to you in a previous life. If you are familiar with Dr. Brian Weiss, he tells the story of one of his patients who had terrible fears and anxieties, and especially fear of water. She also had choking sensations.

When she went to a past life, she found out that she and her baby had died in a Tsunami. Once she learned what had happened to her, she was able to let go of many of the fears that she had been holding on to. Dr. Weiss stated that he had used psychoanalysis with this person for three years and it did not help. When he did the past life therapy, however, she was able to overcome her problems.

So much can be learned by experiencing past lives. Perhaps you can’t get along with a parent, spouse, or sibling despite all your efforts. It may be that this person did something unkind to

Don’t Hope… Decide!

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had one of those life-changing experiences that you hear other people talk about — the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. This one occurred a mere two feet away from me.

Straining to locate my friend among the passengers deplaning through the jet way, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family.

First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other’s face, I heard the father say, “It’s so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!” His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly, “Me, too, Dad!” Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son’s face in his hands said, “You’re already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!” They too hugged a most loving, tender hug.

While this was happening, a baby girl (perhaps one or one-and-a-half) was squirming excitedly in her mother’s arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father. The man said, “Hi, baby girl!” as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.

After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and declared, “I’ve saved the best for last!” and proceeded to give his wife the longest, most passionate kiss I ever August 2014

remember seeing. He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed. “I love you so much!”

They stared at each other’s eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands.

For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn’t possibly be. I puzzled about it for a moment then realized how totally engrossed I was in the wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm’s length away from me. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred, but was amazed to hear my own voice nervously ask, “Wow! How long have you two been married?

“Been together fourteen years total, married twelve of those.” he replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife’s face. “Well then, how long have you been away?” I asked. The man finally turned and looked at me, still beaming his joyous smile. “Two whole days!”

Two days? I was stunned. By the intensity of the greeting, I had assumed he’d been gone for at least several weeks – if not months. I know my expression betrayed me.

The Circle Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours.

The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same, and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were.

The life of man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.

Our teepees were round like the nests of birds, and they were always set in a circle, the nation's hoop, a nest of many nests, where the Great Spirit meant for us to hatch our children.

I said almost offhandedly, hoping to end my intrusion with some semblance of grace (and to get back to searching for my friend), “I hope my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years!”

- Get three unscented, white, short to medium height taper candles. Stand them in the shape of an equilateral triangle, one candle at each corner. This system is describing how to do a two story house with basement, but you can allocate the three burn cycles in whatever way makes sense for your situation. Create your triangle in any room or on any story of the house where you have privacy to work. No need to carry it to each floor. For a work space, you could do it at home, but visualize it happening at work! The light of each flame is a pure representation of the unconditionally loving True Source of Life often called God. or your house may be needed as well in more challenging situations.

There is a First People technique called smudging, where sage is burned and the smoke blown throughout the house as a carrier for prayers; asking to clear energy of previous owners and to receive peace and harmony. Sage smoke carries intentions and prayers so they more easily connect with God, or as some call it The Great Spirit, so healing can happen; it doesn’t do the clearing itself. Blow the smoke into all corners, closets, under and around anything, into dark places and attics, where energy tends to collect.

When moving into a space that is already furnished, move furnishings into new positions to release stagnant energy.

Painting and cleaning can have a huge impact, or replacing old carpet. While you do these things, welcome love and light to fill the space and clear anything left by the previous inhabitants. If you feel uncomfortable or allergic when using specific furniture it’s best to get rid of it. It could be dust and mold, but is likely also the psychic energy from people who used it before.

Feng Shui is the Chinese practice of influencing what comes and goes through your living space and life. It can assist the energy of a home to be constantly flowing and alive, preventing the buildup of negative energy. Its principles can be employed to block influences from your neighbors who fight or don’t like you or between your bedroom and other people in your house!

There’s a lot to learn if you read up on this system. One of my favorite tools uses a small mirror facing outward toward a source of unwanted energy. You can slip it into a closet, behind a picture or another mirror; aiming it outward to deflect unwanted energy away from your space. Drawing a 5 pointed star or pentacle on the mirror neutralizes negative energy so you are not sending it back to people. While I doubt the star is traditional, without it the mirror can amplify what it repels.

The following candle ceremony creates a long lasting field of light and love that continues to clear negativity from previous situations or ongoing negativity from daily life. Once completed it continues to work for years to come.

- Light the candles and visualize their light filling the basement, all the corners and cabinets, behind or under any equipment or furniture, into walls and ceiling, etc. Burn candles 1/3 of the way down and then blow them out and store for 3 days before doing the next step.

- On day 4 do the same as above for the first floor of the house while burning the second 1/3 of the candles.

- Wait 3 more days and do the second floor, including attic, burning the last 1/3.

Life is emotionally, mentally and spiritually messy. However our true, higher nature is unconditionally loving and clear.

Why You Can’t Lose Weight They say that the more calories you consume, the more weight you will gain, right? At least that’s the modern weightcontrol theory, which is based on the idea that weight loss is a simple mathematical formula of consuming fewer calories than you use up.

There are calculations showing that if you eat a small snack every day that exceeds your caloric expense for that day, you could gain several pounds in a year, based on the few extra calories in that snack. Our current low-fat diets are based on this theory, as, gram for gram, fats are the most calorie-dense foods we eat.

The problem is it’s not working.

Americans now consume dozens of low-fat products - - from milk to cereals to pizza, and yet we are gaining weight at an astonishing rate. It is estimated that fully three-quarters of Americans are overweight. (Technically, 33% of adults are overweight; statistics separate overweight adults from obese adults.

The 75% is the sum of overweight, obese, and extremely obese adults.) And we are gaining weight fast.

Everybody knows we need to be more active and exercise more. But there is tremendous disagreement — and confusion — when it comes to what is a healthy, weight-regulating diet. There is evidence that diet is the main driver for our national weight problem.

From a wellness perspective, weight control is not nearly as simple as calories in, weight on. Our weight is regulated primarily by hormones that are strongly influenced by the foods we eat. What’s the biggest culprit for putting on weight?

Insulin. This hormone is known primarily for lowering blood sugar after a meal that is heavy in carbs. But it does so by storing many of the extra calories as fat. It also stops the body’s use of fat as a fuel. So if you are exercising to try to lose weight, but have high insulin August 2014

levels from a recent carb-based meal, the insulin will prevent your body from accessing the fat stores.

Even more important than weight regulation for many people are appetite and cravings control. Many of my patients who are trying to improve their diets complain not so much about being hungry as craving sweets and carbrich foods such as doughnuts, pastries and soda. The problem is that carbs are literally addictive for some people, especially highly refined carbs like sugar and white flour products.

Dr. David Kessler, former head of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and author of “The End of Overeating,” also implicates foods high in salt and processed fats as being addictive.

Healthy fats are not addictive, but processed ones are, especially Trans fats.

Dr. Kessler reviewed a study in which rats that were offered high-fat, sugary foods showed signs of addiction, almost equal to that of cocaine. The lead author of the study, Dr. Paul Kenny, commented, “In the study, the animals completely lost control over their eating behavior, the primary hallmark of addiction. They continued to overeat even when they anticipated receiving electric shocks, highlighting just how motivated they were to consume the palatable food.” When the “junk foods” were removed and healthy options were offered, many of the rats simply refused to eat. Does this sound like a 5-year-old having a sugar tantrum?

Studies have shown sugar to have potent effects on brain chemistry, affecting the opioid and dopamine receptors that are associated with mood and addiction.

Sugar is a short-term analgesic, which means it actually relieves pain. Some researchers go so far as to call it a drug.

Based on this information, I do not recommend most patients use the “eat all foods in moderation” idea. If a food is addictive, the only way to avoid w w w. B o d y M i n d S p i r i t G U I D E . c o m

“setting off” the addiction is to avoid that food completely for a short time until the addiction is gone. A qualified Wellness Doctor can take you through this process. I recommend patients stick to the basic rules of nutrition I was taught 32 years ago in Chiropractic College: Eat only whole, intact foods; avoid the more processed “foods” containing sugars and high-fructose corn syrup; white flour products; and soda. It can be a difficult transition — these foods are everywhere, especially during the holidays. So many patients do well in improving their diets and notice great health gains, only to find that after a piece of birthday cake they end up on a “junk food” binge for two weeks.

The best weapon I can give my patients against overeating and obesity is knowledge; the facts about hormones and weight regulation and the problems with low-fat diets, but mostly the addictive nature of refined carbs. People who have a hard time quitting carbs are not weak willed — the problem is the foods themselves. They are literally addictive, and food manufacturers are doing everything they can to keep them that way. This is why I always test my patients for food allergies before putting them on a weight loss program. If you’re allergic to foods, then you’ll crave these foods and you’ll never lose weight.

Healing the Body Without Drugs or Physical Intervention Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a magic pill that would heal your body’s aches, pains and even dis-ease and illness? Wouldn’t it be nice if you wouldn’t ever get sick? Wouldn’t it be nice?

No Known Negative Side Effects - Many people seek a magic pill and the pharmaceutical industry wants us to believe that their pills will do that for us. But the pill I am talking about is not based on chemistry. And while this pill has side effects it is unlike the pills advocated by western medicine as there are no known negative side effects to the pill I am talking about.

Whether you are aware of it or not, underlying our seemingly solid bodies are vast amounts of space and energy. It is the construct of the Universe. All Life, all Matter is made of the same stuff. In its simplest terms, energy that is free flowing and connected to Source without blockage and limitation is available to heal the body of whatever physical ailments manifest. No dis-ease can exist in the perfect love and light of Source Energy. In fact, knowing the status of the energy body is a preview of what lies ahead for the physical body.

How Energy Affects Health - Your energy system works very much like your body’s circulatory system. The energy system has pumps like the heart (chakras) and vessels like arteries (meridians and nadis) to deliver the energy. Since the body needs energy to live if there are blockages or the pumps are not working properly, the energy is not delivered and fatigue, pain, illness and dis-ease set in.

Each disease or illness has a characteristic pattern of dysfunction.

Take a look at these few examples: •

Neck pain may be due to emotional factors. The solar plexus typically has pent up emotions that might not get expressed. This affects the throat and jaw minor chakras which affect the neck.

•

Sinusitis is a congested solar plexus chakra which sends energy to the ajna chakra that controls the sinuses.

•

Cancer is a disease of abnormal cell growth. At the energetic level there is congestion in certain parts of the body that fuels this cell growth. Whatever organ is affected

you can be sure the chakra that controls that organ is congested with energy.

•

Irregular heart beat or arrhythmia is affected by the heart and solar plexus chakras. These chakras are congested with dirty red energy. The cause is usually emotional in origin.

When you know the pattern of dysfunction, you can undo what was created and allow the energy to flow freely to vitalize the organs and body systems that were negatively affected. Even if you don’t know the pattern, regular and general cleaning of the energy body will keep you healthier and more vibrant and can help to eradicate dis-ease.

Belief Is Not Necessary - You don’t have to believe any of this. But just like gravity you still live with its affects. While the basic understanding of the energy body goes back thousands of years to the foundation of Ayurveda and Acupuncture, science is now proving what has been known all along through the body of knowledge known as quantum physics.

Going Beyond What is Thought Possible Western medicine and modern pharmaceuticals are essential to our health care system. They effectively treat symptoms so you can return to your normal state of health. However, I advocate that there is more. That we can go beyond what is normal so we can live not only a healthy life but one that is more vibrant, more joyful, more passionate, more bold than what is now considered possible.

Treating the energy body will heal the body before physical symptoms manifest. It can easily propel us into a new way of being that very few have ever experienced. This is the realm of mastery, and it is meant for you and me. The choice is yours as it always was and is.

Energy medicine should be used as a compliment to and not a replacement for any allopathic treatment you may be receiving.

All of Life is seeking to love you if you would only let it in. You lack nothing. You are created from the same energy as the stars, Christ and the forest. You are a thread of an intrinsic web that is a complete representation of a greater system.

My intent is that you feel the wholeness and fullness of your Being by realizing that all your needs are met. I cannot emphasize enough the life-changing effects of recognizing a need as important. Just from this one simple process, I have seen profound change in my own life, in people I mentor, and during both individual sessions and retreats. When you see your need without adding shame or trying to make it happen, the Universe answers it.

Psychologically, we must first do the inner work of recognizing a need and not adding the garbage on top of it. Spiritually, when we see a need/desire/dream as important we touch our soul and feel in that moment that all our needs are met.

When we feel all of our needs are met, Universe/Life matches our feeling. We get stuck when we have not been taught this process, or when we are not willing to do the psychological inner work of uncovering a need. Many of us are taught to mentally strain, and just have faith that Life/God is working for us. Faith without a foundation of self-love has no foundation. What I am teaching here requires no mental proving to keep alive and it allows you to FEEL Life/God in your bones and body.

The mind provides a bookmark for personal insight but is not how you embody Love/God/Christ energy as you. God is not a mental construct that you must believe really hard to make real. Your life is God. You are an expression of God. Why would you have to believe and mentally struggle to find something that really only requires a compassionate inward glance? To feel Life/God working on your behalf, you must do the inner work of recognizing your emotions and needs.

Unfortunately, the very process of feeling God/Life in our cells as a living embodiment is sometimes judged as weak. When you honor your needs, self-love is seen as a luxury and not the core foundation to your divine connection. Your emotions and needs are the soil to everything you express in your life. Every emotion is an expression of an unmet need. When you try to find God or happiness in the mind; you will see emotions as something to push past, analyze or ignore.

Emotions (fear, doubt, anger, grief) are what got you on the road of suffering, but they can also get you off that road. The off ramp IS the on ramp. You suffer when you try to avoid pain through co-dependent relationships, addictions and selfsabotage. When you witness an emotion and then ask what you need, you tap into the flow of Grace that is waiting for you to yield.

Honoring a need does NOT mean going into strategy or trying to get it from someone else. Can you honor a need as real and valid within YOU? When YOU honor it as important, God/Universe will rush in to meet it. Sometimes when I take people through this process, they feel so loved through honoring their need, that the need falls away.

These principals are life-changing and take years to learn, yet the benefit is immediate. How many times have you denied yourself creativity or understanding because you felt you should just “get over it”? For example, in the core of a woman’s genes is the limiting belief, “A good woman does not have needs and must sacrifice hers to be a loving woman.”

In the core of a man is the limiting belief, “A strong man can do it on his own. I must ‘man up’, push past, and overcome.

Emotions and needs are weak.” These beliefs are based on separation. When we realize we are part of an interdependent co-arising web, we discover that giving and receiving are the same.

Needs are not weak. Would you judge a flower as weak for needing water? When you honor your needs you become stronger...not weaker. Honor your needs and allow yourself to be in energetic alignment with the Universe/God and your dreams. When it comes to personal happiness, the gentler you are with yourself, the more powerful you feel.

There are nine fundamental needs that all humans have: subsistence, protection, affection, understanding, participation, leisure, creation, identity and freedom. There are about 20 more fundamental needs that are also very important (i.e. acceptance, spiritual connection, safety, etc.) but these 20 are represented in the nine.

In sum, the three reasons we deny our fundamental needs are: 1. We judge needs as weak and shame ourselves. (I shouldn’t need this.)

2. We do not take the time to recognize our emotions, or be aware of our needs.

3. We try to make the need happen. (Trying to prove to another our need is real.)

When a person recognizes a need without shame, the need is usually distilled down to its noble truth. Meaning, you may believe you need support but when you honor this need, you realize you really need creativity. Or, when you honor your need to be right, you realize you really crave self-acceptance.

Distilling a need down to its noble truth cannot happen without self-honoring. Honoring your needs will not make you a selfish glutton but rather help you to: a. Feel safe to open your heart. b. Create personal responsibility. c. Give you the foundation for speaking boundaries. d. Empower you to make choices in alignment with your true desires.

Nothing is without purpose. Nothing. You are part of an intrinsic pattern that is continually trying to help you grow and become more of your already present brilliant self. Life cannot support the plant that is trying to go back into the Earth!

Likewise Life/God doesn’t know about your problems and playing small. Every day an evolutionary impulse is seeking to express as you. Through self-love and honoring your needs, you open your heart to be in greater alignment with the energy that is wanting to help you. There is a force that is continually cheering you on to grow...grow…grow! As you continue to practice self-love and turning your glance inward, you discover something that uniquely only you can do. And you become a star.

Early Trauma: The Split it Causes: As Suggested by Dr. Franz Ruppert

Survivor Self - The Survivor Self also buries all memories of the trauma, and keeps it buried deep—so that the split is carefully guarded. This part is controlling—and compensates easily by creating illusions—a mirror image of the Traumatized Self.

German psychologist and trauma constellations specialist, Dr. Franz Ruppert, contends that early trauma causes the psyche to split into three parts that he calls: the Trauma Self, the Survival Self, and the Healthy Self. According to Ruppert, most trauma occurs with the primary relationship for every human being, his or her relationship with mother—generally in the first trimester of pregnancy. Dr. Ruppert agrees with German psychotherapist and former priest, Bert Hellinger, creator of Family Constellations, that trauma can also occur during or immediately following birth—in a fashion similar to what Hellinger calls “The Interrupted Reaching Out.”

Constellation of Intention

Early traumas have a lasting impact on the individual’s developing personality, and influence the path an individual will choose in life—including whether the individual will have a happy and successful life, or one filled with pain. The following are Ruppert’s descriptions of the splits that occur: Healthy Self - The Healthy Self is open-minded, capable of regulating feelings, exhibits compassion and empathy, and can form a healthy bond. The Healthy Part has a good memory, and is realistic and optimistic—accepts responsibility and practices self-reflection.

Traumatized Self - The Traumatized Self buries all memories of the trauma but is stuck in the traumatic experiences—is therefore easily triggered as an adult.

Franz Ruppert developed the “Constellation of Intention.” It differs in format from a traditional Family Constellation, created

by Bert Hellinger.

In a Family Constellation the client shares briefly with the facilitator what he or she would like to work on. The client is then asked to choose a representative for him or herself, and for family members as suggested by the facilitator.

In the Constellation of Intention, the client chooses only one representative—for his or her intention—and is then asked to step into the constellation as him or herself. In the constellation of Intention, there is no representative for the client—the client represents him or herself.

Hellinger suggests a client is asked to pick someone to represent him or her—to prevent traumatization, whereas Ruppert maintains the act of “representing” him or herself is what prevent re-traumatization of the client.

There is significant disagreement and criticism of Franz Ruppert’s methods from most traditional Family Constellations practitioners and facilitators—not only for Ruppert’s method of setting up a constellations, but many also object to Ruppert’s philosophies. Reconsidering the “Gospel” Truth As someone who is interested in creating a world united in love where every person feels safe, respected, and seen as the beautiful child of God that they are, I continually seek to understand the reasons why the world is not like this (yet) and what needs to change so that someday this vision can become a reality. There are many reasons why the world does not feel safe for everyone, but my heart is called to challenge the role that organized religion plays in the perpetuation of fear, separatism, and discrimination. As a western woman who was raised Catholic, I have the most to say about Christianity and its role in the suppression of women, because this is the area I have the most personal experience with; however, my thoughts about Christianity apply to all religions and institutions who use their power to control and discriminate against any woman, man, or child.

For centuries, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and most religions have twisted and distorted Holy Scriptures to justify the discrimination, suppression, and abuse of women and anyone who is not in the dominant group. A striking example of this is the teaching that Eve, representing all women, is inferior to Adam, who represents all men. This conclusion that women are inferior to men stems from the bible passage that says Eve was created second and was responsible for original sin. As evidence that this belief is alive and well, I saw a quote on the front of a Catholic magazine that said “Eve, by her disobedience, tied the knot of disgrace for the human race…”

Spreading this damaging, discriminatory message in the name of God perpetuates the belief that women brought original sin into the world (not true!) and as a punishment for this must be subservient to men. Twisting scriptures to denigrate women (or anyone) under the name of God is not acceptable.

Interestingly, within the Christian church, it was a group of all men who interpreted the scriptures and decided that women could not be deaconesses or priestesses. It was also a group of men who decided which books would be included in the bible. Quite notably, none of the scriptures written by women were chosen. This imbalanced patriarchal hierarchy is still very much present in Catholic, Protestant, and NonDenominational sects of Christianity.

One clear example of this is the fact that women cannot be pastors or priests (in most religions). Another example of this is how the American nuns have recently come under attack by the Vatican because they are asking for shared power in the church.

These fear-based, divisive, discriminatory teachings about women have created a belief within the collective consciousness that women should be subservient to men, which is one of the reasons why atrocities like genital mutilation, forced prostitution, acid burning, rape, and other forms of violence against women exist. Yes, there are other factors that contribute to these expressions of violence against women, but organized religion is arguably one of the most influential and powerful institutions that shape societal views about the value of women.

If we are going to create a world where all people feel safe, respected, and seen with eyes of love, then we need to keep questioning and challenging the ways that institutions use their influence to keep women and others disempowered. Although I have spoken mostly about the role Christianity plays in the discrimination of women, most organized religions twist scriptures to spread false messages of hate about people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. This is yet another way that shame and guilt are used to control people, but that is another story for another time.

A good way to shine some light on

the fear-based, divisive belief systems of our world’s organized religions is to look more consciously and critically at the messages that are being shared as “Gospel” truth. Just because you have heard or read something 1,000 times, does not make it true. A good test to determine if religious teaching is false is to ask the following questions: 1. Does the teaching reflect the truth that God is love?

2. Does the teaching acknowledge that as God’s children all people are equal and deserve to be treated accordingly?

3. Does the teaching recognize that regardless of one’s religion, gender, or sexual orientation, God does not have favorites and sees us all the same?

If the answer to any of these questions is no, the teaching is not true and is merely an attempt to keep control in the hands of the few. God is, has always been, and will always be about love.

Organized religions, under the supposed authority of God, have continued to spread false teachings that are rooted in judgment, separation, and discrimination for centuries. Every time a person can see through these false teachings, a shift happens within the collective consciousness and the world becomes a safer, more loving place for everyone. By seeing the truth and choosing love, each of us has an opportunity to transform these outdated belief systems and create a new way forward that is guided by compassion, acceptance, and unity.

Seaside Reflections As we wrap up our last few weeks of summer, life will get really busy.

We are so busy getting ready for our kids to get back to school, finish up our last vacation time running here and there, and wishing that the sun would stay out just a little longer. But as always, things come to an end and we must prepare for the new adventures that fall brings.

One wonderful thing about living in Michigan is being surrounded by water.

Going to the beach and feeling the sand between our toes and breathing in deeply the smell of hot-dogs and hamburgers on the grill always brings a smile to our face.

As we spend these last few weeks in the warmth of the sun, it is an amazing time to reflect upon what you feel you have achieved or maybe not achieved in your life this year. It’s not a time to feel down or sorry for yourself but a time to listen and be at peace in the moment. Each person has their own unique and personal refection. Gaze into the mirror of your life and see what is staring back at you. What needs to be changed…what needs to be removed…what needs to be added?

One thing that we do when at our beautiful Michigan beaches is to pick up sea shells. It’s amazing to marvel at these beautiful creations that come to

us as gifts from the sea. Because with that shell, you hold a heartfelt memory of that day that you will hold dear to your heart.

Some shells we can hold in our hand. Some we can hold to our ears and listen to the sound of ancient waves from lives past and it always makes us feel more connected to Mother Earth, her water and of course to the womb where we all have come from. As we listen to these sea shells, it reminds us to listen to our inner voice, stay true to our values and know what and who we have become. The universe has called you to come to that spot and reflect on being in that moment and being in a sense of joy and happiness.

Allow the waves to roll in, envisioning abundance flowing into your life.

Use this time to cleanse away your fears and worries. The shell represents getting ready to let go of the ebb and flow of the emotional tides in our lives and to become aware of life’s small and beautiful blessings. Use this time to reflect on what blessings have come to you so far this summer.

Closing your eyes and feeling the soft breeze on your skin, the warmth of the sun on your shoulders- - what blessings are being revealed to you? What gratitude will you carry with you into the fall and winter months?

Summer is about growth and fertility.

There is still time to take advantage of the suns power and help manifest the visions that you have set for yourself on this day, at the beach with those that you love.

HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS The other day I went to the local religious book store, where I saw a HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS bumper sticker. I bought it and put it on the back bumper of my car, and I'm really glad I did. What an uplifting experience followed!

I was stopped at the light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord, and didn't notice that the light had changed. That bumper sticker really worked! I found lots of people who love Jesus. Why, the guy behind me started to honk like crazy. He must REALLY love the Lord because pretty soon, he leaned out his window and yelled, "Jesus Christ!" as loud as he could. It was like a football game with him shouting, "GO JESUS CHRIST, GO!!!"

Everyone else started honking, too, so I leaned out my window and waved and smiled to all of those loving people. There must have been a guy from Florida back there because I could hear him yelling something about a sunny beach, and saw him waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my two kids what that meant. They kind of squirmed, looked at each other, giggled and told me that it was the Hawaiian good luck sign. So, I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign back.

Several cars behind, a nice man stepped out of his car and yelled something like "Mother trucker," maybe he was from Florida, too. A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and were walking toward me. I bet they wanted to pray, but just then I noticed that the light had changed to yellow, so I stepped on the gas and it’s good thing I did, because I was the only driver to get across the intersection. I looked back at them standing there. I leaned way out the window, gave them a big smile and held up the Hawaiian good luck sign as I drove away. Praise the Lord...

Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes.

Everyone was frantically searching for their name, pushing, colliding with each other, and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.

Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

Seven Simple Ways to Stay Positive!

“How do I remain positive amid negativity?” is a question I hear often, especially from empathic or highly sensitive people.

I love this question because it is laden with learning opportunities. And, as an ‘empath’ myself, I can really relate. For years, I unknowingly soaked up negativity and allowed negative environments to bring me down.

Fortunately, negative environments affect me significantly less today thanks to some simple, empowering techniques.

Here are seven of my favorites: 1. Choose positivity! Each morning, make a commitment to yourself to stay positive regardless of what anyone else says or does. Make it into a game; see how quickly you can reframe any negative situation into a positive and keep a running tally throughout the day!

This will bring playfulness to a low energy situation and help strengthen your positivity muscle even more!

2. Surround yourself with white light and mirrors. Before you start your day, take 15 seconds for a quick, yet effective visualization. Close your eyes and imagine drawing a line of glowing, impermeable white light around your body’s perimeter. Follow that up by imagining your body covered with mirrors, so that any negativity that comes your way is deflected back to its source.

3. Use it as an opportunity to shine your light even brighter! Just as stars shine brightest when it is darkest outside, maintaining a positive attitude or mindset in the face of negativity offers an incredible opportunity to make a huge impact.

4. Quit taking it personally. The majority of the time, another person’s complaining, blaming or negative actions are about them, not you. Instead of taking w w w. B o d y M i n d S p i r i t G U I D E . c o m

it personally and reacting, practice detachment and non-judgment and drop it there. Remember that everyone is doing the best they can and the Universe is a good, positive place even if it doesn’t always appear that way. If you have a tough time with this concept, write the acronym ‘QTIP’ on several sticky notes and put them around your living space.

This will keep the idea fresh in your subconscious mind, and make it more likely to remember the next time its needed.

5. Use crystals. Are you in a negative environment consistently at work or school? Carry a crystal-like black tourmaline; it has properties to ward off negative energies.

6. Look for the lesson. When faced with a negative situation or environment, step back and ask yourself if there is anything for you to learn. Does this circumstance offer you an opportunity to practice patience or tolerance, or maybe kindness or compassion? Often the things or people who bother us the most offer our biggest life lessons.

7. Leave the situation. There are times when no amount of positivity or visualizing will keep the negativity from taking hold. If this is the case, honor yourself and leave the situation. Sometimes a short walk or slipping away to take some deep breaths is all that’s needed.

Other times, you may need a longer break. Just remember, this too shall pass.

So there you have it! Seven of my best techniques for remaining positive amid negativity! Try one or all of them and watch them work for you!

No matter how you celebrate the energy of Life, we are all in this big world together.

Trouble in the World This has been a very distressing few months for me and several of my loved ones. As you are all part of my spiritual family, I thought you should know about some personal distress that I am going through.

One of my dear friends’ daughter just had a beautiful baby girl in June. She and her husband live in Tel Aviv Israel.

Bombs are being dropped as close as only five miles from their home. They are safe but the area is not, and sadly it seems as though the negative energy has taken over! I know some of you have very strong political views from various perspectives on this subject and I respect your views; but this is not a political article, but one to plea for blessings and peace.

Another of my friends lives in the Ukraine. It seems that coverage on this situation has been put onto the back pages of the news, but when it is personal it becomes all too real.

The following is an excerpt from an email sent to me from my friend, who was born in the Ukraine but has a Russian sir name: (No names will be shared for their protection) July 4th 2014 - emails from the “New Ukraine”.

(I kept his written broken English, so you can experience the anxiety of his situation ) 9:22 am - I’m okay yet, here all things continue in same way, fighting.

9:35 am - More intensive, cities under artillery fire, hundreds civil and soldiers from both side died and injured, Russian army on border etc. region infrastructure are highly damaged. No way for peace agreements, new president just did ultimatum as peace step, without any negotiation with opposition.

Food Of The Month: Food Of The Month AMARANTH

Amaranth is one of the signature whole grains of the summer. It is very small and that makes it challenging to cook. I have found it is most flavorful if you cook it with other grains. It also has a tendency to be thick and gewey when cooked.

This makes it ideal to add to oatmeal and make a breakfast porridge.

Amaranth was the sacred food of the Aztecs. Wherever this whole grain is consumed there is little or no mal-nutrition. One plant will yield 50 thousand seeds. It is related to quinoa, the other signature grain of summer.

But unlike quinoa that falls apart after it is cooked, which makes it great for salads, amaranth remains thick and creamy making it good for other things, such as porridges. Amaranth is in a group of plants known as photosynthetic superformers. This makes it above normal in efficiently converting soil, sunlight, and water into plant tissue, causing it to have extraordinary nutritional value.

It is high in Vit. A, B6, K, C, folate and riboflavin, and is rich in minerals, iron, calcium, potassium, and manganese.

Amaranth is very high in protein, fiber and amino acids.

Creamy Amaranth Breakfast Porridge 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup amaranth 1 1/4 cups water 1/4 cup amazake 1/2 tsp. cinnamon pinch sea salt pinch allspice pinch cloves 2 T. raisins 2 T. toasted walnuts

Remember, if you want to try amaranth, cook it with other grains. I have found quinoa and millet work best with a quarter ratio: one quarter as much amaranth as the other grain(s).

Put rolled oats, amaranth, water, amazake, cinnamon, sea salt, allspice and cloves in a small pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover and let cook for 30 minutes. Add the raisins and walnuts. Mix together and serve.

It can also be added to soups to thicken them. My favorite way to eat amaranth is in this porridge. I use amazake to sweeten it--it’s a whole grain sweetener made from brown rice and will not spike your blood sugar levels. You can find it in the freezer section of a local health food store.
