Welcome to the 12th annual Johnson Ranching Bull Sale. It always amazes me how fast the year goes by. We are bringing to town a very deep set of bulls. Our Charolais pen is as deep in quality as we have raised. The Simmental pen is a very strong pen of bulls once again and are highlighted by NUG Advantage and WJS Trailblazer. As always, our bulls have been 100K tested for enhanced EPD’s as well as Sire Verified. Our bulls are backed by easy doing functional cows with udder and foot quality of up most importance. We put a lot of time and research into the sourcing of our AI sires and herd bulls making sure they fit the needs of our customers. The bulls are fed a high forage TMR diet consisting of silage, hay, and Country Junction bull developer pellets. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped us through out the year from fresh hot meals to our fitting crew as well as our picture team and catalog designer, we couldn’t do it without you! On behalf of the Johnson family, welcome to their 12th annual bull sale. Byron, Bernice & Wyatt have once again assembled one of the most consistent and uniform sets of bulls you will walk in spread over the Charolais, Fullblood and red & black Simmental divisions. As you study their catalogue, you can certainly see the strict breeding practices they follow and year after year it shows in all the repeat customers that annually fill the stands at Provost Livestock Exchange to purchase Johnson Bulls. Again the 2025 offering of Charolais Bulls are thick, chunky, hairy studs driven for every aspect of today’s industry. Options of calving ease and performance individuals are spread throughout this section with many half or 3/4 brothers to choose from. Stay at home, proven herd sires Authentic, Rico and Grandmaster are well represented and have again put an impressive set of sons together. New this year is the rookie calf crop by Commodore that is sure to excite. Commodore has knocked it out of the park on his first calf crop and we feel your really gonna like his sons as they will also offer you some new blood if you have been shopping here the last number of years.
The impressive Fullblood offering is again highlighted by the standout Advantage sons. After his deep set of sons on offer last year we thought it would be hard to match but as all incredible breeding bulls do, they consistently make them straight up awesome and that’s what you will find in this sire group. Other sires such as Hellz Bellz and Battle Cry to name a few have pieced together a dark, well pigmented set of Fullblood bulls with as many polled options as anywhere. These are real world beef bulls that excel in overall do ability while being very eye appealing.
IGS GENOMIC ENHANCED EPD’S (100K TESTING)
This year we made the decision to better help our customers make their bull selection a little easier. We 100K tested all the sale bulls. What does that mean to you, well here is the Coles notes version. All of the bulls are now sire verified so now you will be able to match any of our bulls offspring by a simple tissue or hair test. The biggest benefit to our customers though comes in the Enhanced EPDS. By doing this we have increased the accuracy of our bulls epds as if they already have 25 calves born to them.
Calving ease, birth weight, weaning weight, and docility epd’s are all at the equvilant of 25 progeny already born, while ones like Stayability, Marbling, and Back Fat are in the 10-15 progeny already born.
We feel this will help you to select the bulls best suited for your operations needs with the added bonus of traceability with the sire verification being done.
The Purebred bulls feature another top notch set of Trailblazer sons, who was born right here at Johnson Ranching and used successfully Canada wide. These bulls have mass and power with lots of blaze faced options. The Jet Stream sons have come together really nice and offer more red hided purbereds than in years past. These bulls have length of body and extra scale that are sure to add pounds to your calf crop.

Terms of Sale: Cash or cheque payable in Canadian Funds. The right to property shall not pass until after settlement has been made. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before cattle will be released unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller.
Bulls sold with a “Responsible Breeder Guarantee of Satisfaction:” In the unlikely events of a dispute, the regular terms and conditions standard with the applicable breed association shall apply. In any case, the seller is not responsible for more than what the bull sold for at the auction mart.
Purchasers Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Insurance will be available sale day.
Liability: Purchasers must look to the seller of the animal for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made are hereunder. Provost Livestock Exchange are acting as agents and assume no responsibility or representations made by the seller.

nice uddered and carry his gentle demeanor.
The moment we saw Advantage in Maxwell’s bull pen the fall of 2021 we knew that he was the polled bull we have been looking for. When the hammer fell at their bull sale one of the deepest, softest heavy muscled polled fullblood bulls we have ever seen was headed to his new home at Johnson Ranching with a $110000 price tag. We decided to keep him very exclusive and only sold a very limited amount of semen. With Advantage’s first calf crop on the ground now he is really proving his worth. We are very excited for his sons that are going to be standouts in this year’s bull sale. The heifers are equally as exciting. To date his calves come out real easy, they are dark red, solid coloured and they all have nice temperament’s.

We put lots of miles on searching for a new herd sire and making the trip to Elder’s we found Commodore there. He was exactly what we were looking for in our next sire and once we seen his mother we decided he was the one. His calves come nice sized and vigorous. He adds middle and overall dimension and excellent foot quality, with a nice presence about them.
Grandmaster is our new heifer bull that we selected out of Legacy Charolais. We are exteremly happy with him as he calves very and leaves us with very marketable progeny. He has an awesome hair coat sound footed and comes from a cow that Diana holds in very high regard.
Listening to our customers’ demands for homo polled bulls with calving ease and lots of performance led us to Rico. We felt Rico checked every box in what we needed in a new herd bull. We saw his dam on the ACA summer tour and were very impressed with her. Rico’s sire Commissioner has been well received across Canada and there has been many sons selling for lots of money and a bull that can be used on heifers as well. It appears that Rico is going to be a key breeding piece in our Charolais herd.
We purchased Authentic from McLeod Livestock as an outcross for our Rico and Chuckwagon daughters. Authentic is a LT Patriot son out of their top donor Desirae. He is deep sided, extremely soft made and had an excellent hair coat. He strides out well on a nice size and shaped foot. Unfortunately he was lost shortly after coming out of
