LETTER FROM THE LTG Happy January! I hope you've all been having a peaceful, relaxing winter break full of hot chocolate and Netflix. Congratulations on surviving first semester, I know it hasn't been easy. Big thanks to everyone who came out to last months wonderful Division Council Meeting and fabulous Ice Skating Social, your presence was greatly appreciated. New year, new LTG, who's ready for Conclave 2015? I can't wait to see which dedicated leader will be our next Lieutenant Governor! January is a bit of a busy month for us. First there's conclave, which includes the January DCM, then District Convention Early registration is due, and then there's the annual Mr. Key Club Pageant. Now is also the time to start thinking about your future as a member of Key Club International. Will you be running for an officer position for the upcoming term? Will you apply to be a committee chair on the district level? Will you apply to be Executive Assistant, Division News Editor or Division Secretary? Or will you remain a passionate and dedicated member with no official title? If you are unsure, feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to talk you through it. I am also more than happy to help you all write and practice giving your election speeches. Last month the goal of the month was centered around the eliminate project. I am extending that goal onto January in hopes of getting even more members to pledge to raise $5.40 and save 3 families from losing a child. I would like to continue to emphasize the benefits of finding a volunteer event or program that caters to your interests. If you are unable to find one nearby by running a simple google search, feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to help you out. Have a wonderful January and as always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just to chat.

December

//tiffany kanamaru, cupertino high school During the December DCM, we went to houses asking for cans in exchange for carols! We went to about 20 houses and collected cans from every house. Although it was SUPER embarrassing it became fun because a lot of the parents and kids would come sing along. We sang a lot of typical Christmas songs like "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Frosty the Snowman" which were really easy to sing to.

“I didn't expect much from CTC other than learning in detail of the roles of a Lieutenant Governor, but little did I know, it was like a mini key leader for possible candidates. I had a certain mindset that LTGs had to be popular, talkative, and all things that I wasn't. But hearing the other LTG's stories showed me that a Lieutenant Governor doesn't have to be popular or or anything but a committed and passionate heart for serving the division and district. Of course, other qualities come in handy but those are all things a person can learn during the term. GO TO CONCLAVE YALL~

PTP WHAT IS PTP? PTP stands for Pediatric Trauma Program. Pediatric Trauma, otherwise known as unintentional injury, is the leading cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the United States. More children die from unintentional injury than any other diseases combined.

WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF PEDIATRIC TRAUMA ? A child who suffers from head or even brain injury because he or she was not wearing a bicycle helmet. A baby who was injured from tumbling down the stairs because no safety gate was present. A child who drowns in a household pool because proper alarms and fencing were not installed.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF PTP? The Pediatric Trauma Program is based of the principle that all injuries are predictable and preventable. Together, the CNH District aims to develop local projects to reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY DONATED TO PTP? The funds donated to PTP provide grants to partner hospital, which allows them to create or expand community outreach programs, and the funds provide grants to Kiwanis to allow them to help more children in more communities. The funds are also used to provide PTP safety items to families to ensure that all children live happy, healthy, and safe lives.

All proceeds from Fall Rally North will be donated to PTP!
