LE T T E R F ROM THE LTG
Happy November! I hope you all had a wonderful October, thank you to everyone who came out to the October DCM and Fall Rally! Our division alone was able to raise over $1100 for PTP! That's huge! I hope you all feel good knowing you were a part of that. October 10th marked the ending of the first half of our terms. We only have 5 months left! I encourage you all to spend some time pondering what you want out of the next 5 months. Key club is what you make it. You get in what you put out. I hope to see you all at this months blanket making DCM! Have a wonderful November and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any question, comments, concerns, or just to chat. Have a wonderful day!

// louis hinnant, los altos high school “RTC really did live it up to its name as a leadership training conference. Even though I'm not an officer, I still found the workshops very helpful for developing leadership skills. The people I met there were chill, and the atmosphere really creates a sense of community. I would definitely go again to hear the speakers from the various aid organizations, listening to Mr. Freeman pitch the Eliminate project was an eye-opening experience 7

//gloria cheng, homestead high school “During the DCM held at RTC, we started off with a meeting agenda and going over current updates within the division level. Future events were also discussed briefly to make officers aware of their upcoming dates. I liked how the DCM
was really interactive with the trivia and game of truth or dare at the end. Overall it was a great way to end RTC 2014 because I got to bond with my fellow division key clubbers.

//angela hu, lynbrook high school “We played truth or dare before everyone came and it was funny seeing the dares, especially when the person had no choice! After most of the people arrived, we split up into groups and introduced ourselves and met new people to dis-
cuss plans for FRN, club meetings, etc. After that, we came back together for trivia and took group photos. Finally, Noori handed out the spirit packs to the presidents and adjourned the meeting. “

Fall Rally is the one of the biggest District Events held during the year. The Cali-Nev-Ha District got together once again this year in Northern California to celebrate our efforts as competent servant leaders. With our spirits flying high just like the Six Flags at the theme park and our fundraising efforts going to PTP, we were reminded of the lasting impact we make on both the community and each other.

//cindy ho, member @ mountain view high school “Key Leader is one of the most unforgettable camps I've ever attended! You learn to redefine your definition of a leader, while being able to learn from the attendees around you too! Whether you're an officer or a member YOU are a leader, definitely don't miss out on the opportunity to attend Key Leader this year! One of the activities that we do at Key Leader is the obstacle course, where you overcome a number of obstacles with your team, and learn how it will relate to being a leader in real life. One of my favorite parts of doing the obstacle course is that everyone has to help each other in order to complete the course, and if one fails everyone else fails, it teaches you the importance of working with your team, because they are there to support you.

# KEYCLUBWEEK
Show your K in every way—Show people what Key Club is all about! Spread the word by wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week in local stores, your school Web site, community newspapers—even on the radio.
Kudos to the Key players—Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teachers, advisors and other Key players. Write thank-you notes, host an appreciation dinner or do something uniquely your own style to recognize the contributions of these special people.
Connect the Ks—Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and is a member of the Kiwanis family. Celebrate the entire family of Kiwanis by getting the whole gang involved. Connect with local Kiwanis, Circle K International, Builders, Kiwanis Kids or Aktion clubs and team up for a joint service project.
Bring a friend to Key Club—More members = more service. Increasing the amount of service Key Club performs increases the impact Key Club has on the world. Bring a friend, or two, or more to your next Key Club meeting.
Your way—This is your club’s chance to do its own thing and make its mark. Pick a project, plan a recruitment party or combine activities from the other Key Club Week days. Whatever idea you choose, take it and run with it.

// steven cui, los altos high school “November DCM was amazing event last year, and is definitely in my top 5 favorite key club events. To start off, we went through our usual DCM schedule—sharing news and info about each club and learning what we’ve all accomplished over the last month. Then, we went on to split off into groups to make blankets for premature babies, which was really the highlight of the event. It was so fun to chat and socialize while we worked as a team to make the blankets, and I highly recommend that all clubbers come to this great event—it’s going to be lots of fun! “

PTP WHAT IS PTP? PTP stands for Pediatric Trauma Program. Pediatric Trauma, otherwise known as unintentional injury, is the leading cause of death among children ages 14 and under in the United States. More children die from unintentional injury than any other diseases combined.
WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF PEDIATRIC TRAUMA ? A child who suffers from head or even brain injury because he or she was not wearing a bicycle helmet. A baby who was injured from tumbling down the stairs because no safety gate was present. A child who drowns in a household pool because proper alarms and fencing were not installed.
WHAT IS THE GOAL OF PTP? The Pediatric Trauma Program is based of the principle that all injuries are predictable and preventable. Together, the CNH District aims to develop local projects to reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY DONATED TO PTP? The funds donated to PTP provide grants to partner hospital, which allows them to create or expand community outreach programs, and the funds provide grants to Kiwanis to allow them to help more children in more communities. The funds are also used to provide PTP safety items to families to ensure that all children live happy, healthy, and safe lives.
All proceeds from Fall Rally North will be donated to PTP!
