How your business can help

Charity no. 1057355

BOURNEMOUTH HOSPITAL CHARITY Who we are We are a registered charity established to enhance the care and treatment of patients accessing NHS services at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals above and beyond what can be funded by the NHS alone. The charity’s funds directly benefit patients, visitors and staff. What we do We raise funds for both the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. Funds raised enable us to buy extra equipment, provide improvements to our hospital environment and additional staff training, which is otherwise unaffordable to the Trust. Who we help The Royal Bournemouth Hospital provides health care for residents of Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset, Ringwood and parts of the New Forest with a total population of 550,000. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services including cardiology, dietetics, the eye unit, haematology, maternity, orthopaedics, women’s health, stroke services and thoracic medicine. There are over 4,200 staff working at the hospital.

How we help The additional equipment and training the charity funds enables the Trust to provide quicker diagnosis and treatment helping people to return to their everyday way of life sooner, in more comfortable and pleasant surroundings. We help the hospitals achieve their vision and goal to ‘provide the excellent care we would expect our own families to receive’.

How you can help By choosing to support us you can be confident in knowing that you are helping a charity that touches the lives of so many people. Most of us live in and around Bournemouth and never know when we may need the expertise of the hospital. Together, we can support the great work and care it provides for our community.

Your business could take advantage of a range of benefits by working in partnership with Bournemouth Hospital Charity. From excellent PR opportunities to team building and staff engagement options, you can also showcase your organisation’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility to your clients, customers and staff. Most importantly, your business will be helping to impact the lives of thousands of patients at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals. We are passionate about working hand-in-hand with our corporate supporters so that everyone – you, your staff and our patients – can benefit. We strive to ensure that our relationships are solid, lasting and win-win. You will be supported every step of the way. Working in partnership with us means you will be guided throughout your fundraising events and activities and have great opportunities to spread the word about your business and charitable efforts throughout your time working with us.

Sponsorship Sponsoring one of our high-profile fundraising events like Walk for Wards or Light Up the Prom is a great way to boost your business profile in the community. You’ll also provide valuable support to us by covering the costs of hosting these popular annual events.

Charity of the Year Do you choose to dedicate your fundraising activities to a different charity each year? If so, why not choose a local charity that benefits you, your staff, your friends and family and everyone in your community – Bournemouth Hospital Charity.

Challenges You and your staff could take on a number of exciting challenges either individually or as a corporate group. Boost your staff morale, practise team building and have fun while conquering these great challenges.

Payroll Giving Your staff can make regular or one-off donations directly from their earnings. Donations are deducted from salaries before Income Tax is applied, meaning they receive tax relief on their donation immediately.

Fundraising event Hold a cake sale or afternoon tea, organise a quiz night or bowling match. We will work in partnership with your company to provide guidance for events and fundraising activities as well as helping to promote your business whilst you are fundraising for us.

Volunteering Could you or your staff support our fundraising events by offering a few hours of their time as marshals, raffle ticket sellers or by taking part in bucket collections?

Match Funding Will you match the funds your employees raise in their fundraising activities? Many companies give a £1 donation for every £1 raised by their employees – so if anyone in your organisation takes part in any fundraising, why not match them and help double their funding?

Raffle / Auction Prizes We’re always in need of prizes for our fundraising events, so all donations are greatly appreciated. We need everything from chocolate and wine to vouchers, signed memorabilia, overnight stays at your establishment and especially money-can’t-buy experiences.

Gifts in Kind As well as raising money, your company may be able to donate goods or services to help us reduce our expenditure, such as providing printed materials or legal advice.

“The staff at Alternative Route Leasing are all fans of the NHS, but it’s not always easy to demonstrate these feelings. The team at Bournemouth Hospital Charity has always been a pleasure to work with. They have worked closely with us to find unique ways in which we could support them and made it easy for us to get involved. Before we worked with Bournemouth Hospital Charity, we could never have imagined our business gaining so much and more importantly, making a difference to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital”

Andrew Garaway – Alternative Route Leasing
