y name is Bowen LIU, and I am currently graduated from my master degree of Architecture at University of Melbourne. Meanhwhile i have 8 months working experience at ST-Architect i worked as the design assistant. During these 8 months, i participated in interior primary design, onsite measure, preparing Town Planning and Building Permit documentation for a few projects. I might not a extremely talented student in architecture, but i have a strong sense of responsibility, which makes me always want to spare to efforts to produce the best work i can present. I regard myself have a good time management ability, when given a task, I always give myself a clear time plan and task list, I'm good at breaking down seemingly complex work into small tasks, which can make me finish the work efficiently and on time. At the same time, I always have a positive attitude to learn new knowledge and experience, which allows me to quickly adapt to an even unfamiliar positions.

his is a completed internal renovation project for the ST-Architects new office. The existing building was a two story warehouse building. We proposed to mainly use the ground floor as our new working space which including the area of Gallery, Meeting rooms, Kitchen, Toilet and working space.

I

was involved with this project from the site measurement, 3d modelling to primary interior design, building permit and construction drawing documentation and On-going modification of the documentation drawing and onsite construction management.

T

he overall concept of this project is to challenge the boudary of the traditional data center. Through the way of using the loop design strategy to provide space for nearby residents to relax and exercise, at the same time meeting all the needs of a zero carbon data center.

W

ithin this project, the generator and chiller providing electricity and cooling service to the data hall space. And the heat that gernerated from the datahall could been reused by the recreation center for preheating the swimming poor and the the service of hot yoga, hot spa, shower and gym. And another part of heat will transfer upward to the commercial greenhouse. The commercial green house could reuse this heat and co2 to make the plants grow faster. Moreover, at the top , the clean electricity can be gerated both from the runnning track and the transparent pv panel roof which could be send to the data center for daily use.

T

he split city Hebron is the epitome of the conflict and confrontation in the whole Palestinian-

Israeli region. Jewish settlers and Arab settlements are separated by concrete walls and steel wire nets. It seems like they are in a parallel universe. Within this background, The long-accumulated conflict and hatred between the two nations are ultimate because of the deeply rooted mutual incomprehension. Both sides of people claim themselves to be victims. And both sides of people are talking their “truth” to the world, which is like a war of narrative. The thesis of this project is to research and discover what is the “truth” and how to relief this situation.

These huge numbers of dots and wires that make up the overall look of the sculpture that we see. This makes me feel that its internal information is often more abundant than its appearance.

hink of what ziziek said about imanary virtual. What he meant was that all we saw was virtural image.Because it can not contain all the information about of it. So we can say that the internal information of the thing is the real. In fact, the amount of internal information is often huge. Like these 3D scaned image, the computer needs to process millions of wires and point to make such a result.


I

f we think about it in from other aspects. For example, if we zoom in to point, into the largest extent that human can see, what we see is that electrons are spinning rapidly around the nucleus. And every thing we can see is just the projection of this information. If we put this concept on the exhibit. I think its inner information about the history it has experienced and the stories behind it tend to reflect the true value of it

or the historical artifacts, the most important value is not the object, but the cultural value it inherits, the history information behind it. This is what needs to be remembered and understood. These information is incredibly huge but records by words. I hope people can really understand the historical relics through reading. And this process is the real.

People will constantly spend time in this space to read to absorbing the information inside the object. People could access to the upper floor through the central circular stair. The upper floor space is the equipment room The glass curtain wall and ceiling allow max sunlight in to the reading room There is the real space for peopel be able to move around at the virtual room to closely engage with the object When people equip the vr head set they will entering to the virtual room .

I

t is firstly refers to that No matter how precise the technology is, you can't perfectly replicate what an object looks like. They all make mistakes. And words don't. At the same time, it also symbolizes that if people don't take the time to read to understand historical relics, its real value will fade away.


T

he concept is trying to create a clean and crisp tower inspired by Modernist principles, in particular we were inspired by Mies Van Der Rohes Seagram building, Bates Smart ICI House in Melbourne and Oscar Neimeyer’s Ministry of Education in Rio. We admired these buildings for their uncompromising minimalist aesthetic and rational approach to planning.

T

he beauty of our project not relys on the decoration of the morden architecture but relys on the simple grids and clean lines. The regular 4 meters by 4.5 meters defined by exposed structure member. Thetower ended up being nearly 290 metres high, aesthetically this created a nice slim tower with a rectangular floor plate. And the huge double glazed window panel perfectly matched in between. It allows for amazing views of the street. Because the orthogonality of structural members further give a sense of stability to slender structures.

I

n order to cope with this design intent. the structural solution involving a series of concrete column and beam system, core shear wall and the two-story open mechanical floors. The concrete columns, which were interconnected to the interior shear wall core by band beam. This configuration allowed for unobstructed open spaces at practically every floor, This structural solution also freed up more NLA are which not only maxmized the building effenciency but also cope with the another design intent which is maximum usable area and practical material.
