Walking is one of the best exercises you can do for your body. It is something that almost anyone can do. Regular walking can help you maintain a healthy weight and lose body
fat. It strengthens your bones and muscles while improving your overall cardiovascular fitness. Bolingbrook Park District offers a variety of trails that provide beautiful scenery to enjoy while you walk which provides an added benefit for your mental health. “Walking is a great starting point for anyone on a health and wellness journey,” said Chris Piasecki, Fitness and Facility Manager. “It is always easier to start a new journey with friends. Therefore, we kicked off our Summer Walking Club on June 1st.”
The Walking Club is open to anyone that wants to make new friends and enjoy the benefits of walking. This self-guided group meets on Wednesdays at 8:00 am and will continue through October 26th. The club meets near the parking lot along the DuPage River Greenway Trail at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm, 475 Trout Farm Road. “We encourage the residents of Bolingbrook to take advantage of our trails and get moving this summer,” said Piasecki. There is no need to register. Just stop by and join the group. bolingbrookparks.org
