Note: Dear parents and teachers, we would request you to go through our children’s magazines and encourage your children to read it as it is full of interesting things! We urge you to guide your children while reading the magazine as there are terms they might not recognize. We have used relatively strong words in some of the essays as it will help children develop a great vocabulary. There shouldn’t be any difficulty going through the pages as we have curated the edition keeping the children’s age group in mind. The magazine comes with a ‘word finder’ for terms that are not yet in children’s memory. We have also incorporated a ‘Did you know?’ section, for children to take interest in the topics! I hope you find the magazine interesting! Keep reading.

The Goodness of Yoga!

Discovered thousands of years ago, by the people of our very own

country, Yoga is a physical practice that is revered by all. It has been accepted by several cultures across the world and is being promoted by world leaders because of the benefits it provides. It heals the body, mind and soul and gives us long lasting energy that drives us with force. It helps us build immunity, it boosts our metabolic system, digestion, blood circulation, heart functions and stimulates our nervous system as well. It regulates our mood, releases happy hormones like endorphins and makes us less susceptible to stress. It helps us stay active and enjoy life to the fullest. Yoga contain several ‘Asanas’ which make us stretch our hands, legs and torso which in order makes the muscles and tissues in our body more flexible and well adapted to our physical environment. Are you going to practice ‘Asanas’ on the International Yoga Day?

Did you know there exists an animal, which

loves sugary food, just like me and you! It is known as the ‘Sugar Glider’. It can glide through air, just like flying squirrels but they are not even related to each other! It can glide through the air with the help of a special feature known as the ‘patagia’, which extends from their forelegs to their hindlegs! By gliding through the air, they can travel more efficiently and faster! They are found in South-Eastern Australia!

Extends: Continues Forelegs: Front legs

Sugar Gliders like to have big families and live in colonies of 20-40 individuals. 7

curious. She asked “Why do we have humps mother?”

Her mother told her because she was a camel and she had them so that the eyelashes could keep her eyes safe from the desert dust.

The mother replied “So that we can store water while living in a desert.” The calf was also very curious to know why she had rounded hoofs.

After a while, the calf said, “So if we have humps to store water, hoofs to walk comfortably on the sand and giant eyelashes to protect our eyes from the desert dust, what are we doing in the zoo?”

So she asked “Why do we have hoofs mother?” Her mother told her they had hoofs so that they could walk comfortably on the sand.

The mother had no more replies to offer.

We are all born with different abilities, and we should use them properly to prosper!

world. It had always been her dream to leave the forest and visit new places. The only thing she needed now was a travel buddy. She couldn’t fly with the birds. She couldn’t race with the deer. She was walking, feeling sad when she heard a roaring sound. She saw Gary the giraffe trying to get a scooter out of the sand. “Wait let me help” Jumbo exclaimed as she helped Gary pull it out.

“We would make a great team”, Gary agreed. “I can get food of high branches and use my long legs to work the scooter” and you can use your trunk to collect water and strength to make sure the scooter doesn’t get stuck”. They formed an unique friendship. Jumbo was very happy to have Gary the Giraffe with him as his travel buddy.

“Thank you so much” Gary smiled. “I’m not strong enough to get my scooter out of puddles. It would be wonderful if I had a travel buddy like you”.

We should always help a person in need.

One bright summer morning, ‘Kitz’, a baby fox was looking for something to eat.

“Aha! There it is a big apple tree!” he thought and went to pick the apples, but alas, he could not reach the high branches of the tree. But then he saw a puppy. He realised that if he climbed on the puppy’s back, together they could reach the apples! But Kitz was too shy to ask for help. The puppy watching Kitz hesitate, decided to help Kitz. “Hello, I am Tommy. Let me help you!” he said. Together, they picked the apples and shared them. Together they helped and found a friend in each other!

It is okay to ask for help and we should always help someone in need.

Realised: Coming to know Shy: Reserved, timid
