HMDR Shotgun Harescramble East Coast Enduro Association - Southside Conservation Club

August 1-2, 2015

What a weekend to debut our first issue of Brapp Magazine back to the racing community. The High Mountain Dirt Riders are the hosts of this event which has run at this site for close to 20 years now. Jim Beaver was the man that built the relationship with The Southside Conservation Club all those years ago that brought the club here and obviously it still flourishes today.

Hidden in the lush mountains of central Pa, this site covers almost 300 acres and borders state game lands and is a perfect location for this yearly event. It was obvious that both of these clubs take pride in the stewardship of the land there. Anyhow we had a bang up time of it landing there on Saturday morning just in time for the Pee Wee race to begin. The ECEA Fast Kidz sure did put on a show for the great crowd on hand. After the Pee Wees the Juniors raced with the Youth class finishing up the day of racing. On to our debut. I would like to thank the ECEA Harescramble committee and all the racers both young and old alike for welcoming us back into the fold. ECEA Fast Kidz Kenito Held, Austin Tsakanikas, Brandon Renier and Cate Nash held an autograph session and signed their Brapp Mags for the masses. It was a great turnout and these kids truly are my heroâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s. After that we had the trophy celebration and then time for food and fun.

The evening hours brought a Sharknado movie marathon that kept us up late into the night, many visited the local Knobels amusement park and a great time was had by all.

The Ecea and Brapp magazine would like to recognize Ian Weisman for his great contributions to our ECEA Fast Kidz Pee-Wee and Junior riders. Ian is the JYC Junior Youth Coordinator and what this is at each and every race he is there for the younger riders showing great support and wishing each one good luck on the line. There is not one of these younger riders that doesn’t look up to him. This is an Honor for him he told me, and he said how very much this position means to him. He loves that he has been given this opportunity and that he doesn’t take this position lightly. He puts 100% of himself into this being on the line, giving high fives, and leading an encouraging word either on the line or on the course. There is not one of these kids that Ian does not consider his friend. Ian started racing when he was 8 years old in (4-8) Oil Injected Class. He was actually 7 when he got his first bike, a CRF50. He has been in the 100% club for 4 years in a row giving racing his all. This year is his first season racing 12-15 85cc, he says it’s slightly tougher and there are twice as many riders in his class but he knows that he will continue to improve each time he rides and races and he looks forward to his upcoming 3 day training camp with the Rich Lafferty Riding School. After spending much time speaking with Ian, I can see his true passion for riding and how much it has meant to him to meet all the great people he has through racing. See for Ian it’s not all about winning I believe for him it’s about going out to these events, meeting new friends, being with his friends and helping out with family and racing and that makes one awesome weekend. He even said to me that he is Thankful for these events and getting to meet all these great people. The ECEA and Brapp Mag would like to recognize another one of our ECEA Fast Kidz Jeffrey Macknick. Jeffrey is 13 years old and started racing once he learned how to ride a bicycle at the age of 6. The first hare scrambles that he rode was in 2010 at High Mountain. He also just rode his first National Enduro this year, the Rattle snake on a KX100 where he came in 10th place in C-Light. He said that he found his first enduro very challenging and he had a blast and is looking forward to doing more. As of right now Jeffrey is in 5th place overall for the year in his class and has attended 100% of the ECEA races. He has also been racing all the National Hare Scrambles and he is looking forward to the next one in Michigan. Jeffrey says that he has learned from Rich Laffertys Riding school and said that the 3 day camp that he attended rocked. Not only did he get some great experiences but when they were not riding Rich took them to see the sites including a Light House, they went swimming, fishing and he made a lot of new friends. One of the things that he says has stuck with him from attending was learning how to turn faster. He wanted to also put a big thanks out to Rich Lafferty, he truly loves his riding school and with the training he has been receiving from him he looks forward to getting faster and getting a Championship win in 2015 in 12-15 super mini. His sponsors this year are Mom and Dad and Fun Factory Racing. A special thanks to Power Seal Jamie, for keeping his cylinder tip top. He says he has kept you very busy, and he thanks you for keeping right up with him and keep his bike running. Jeffrey is also a very active member of Valley Forge Trail Riders helping out in both the enduro and hare scrambles events. He is also there for the clean ups and work days and he is definitely a very hard working member. Jeffrey said he knows that as much hard work that goes into riding that its just as important to put the same amount of effort into helping with his clubs events. Youth Award Winners.

The Three Springs Enduro August 9th, 2015 Three Springs Pa. By: Chris Borger

The 4th Annual Three Springs Enduro was held August 9th in Three Springs, Pa., presented by the Green Marble Enduro Riders Club. Weather conditions were perfect, with clear skies and temps in 70’s. The GMER Trails in this event were awesome. The 70 mile course had it all, with a great mix of Pennsylvania’s best terrain. The GMER club really put forth a huge effort in building and maintaining world class trails for this event. The event began this year with a Saturday Youth Enduro at the club’s trail at Rocket Raceway. Several Kids participated in the event. This was great experience for the youth riders, introducing them to the Enduro concept and riding on some great trail. All the kids got plaques and medals at a nice awards ceremony back at the Fire Hall. The GMER club also reserved the town pool for the weekend free for all riders and their families to use. Saturday evening the club did the traditional spaghetti dinner, prepared and served by the Three Springs Fire Department along with a pig roast prepared by local club friends. It was some great eating and later in the evening the GMER club had a special showing of the John Penton Story movie set up in the town outdoor music pavilion with swimming until 11:PM. The local Lions Club served a great breakfast starting at 6:AM the following morning. Sunday morning Key Time, 8:00 AM. The start of the event was located in town at the Three Springs Fire Hall and the riders were quickly put into the first

test section of the day, a somewhat rocky three mile section of technical single track action leading into the second section of the day which opened up with an eight mile section with less rocks and fast single track through the big timbers, with some long up and down hill trials. The AA and A/B split section was awesome, a 6 mile test section of tight small growth pines, stick farm action, long and technical up and down hill sections and open faster trail through the big laurels. The fourth section was the awesome trail at Rocket Raceway, with high speed woods action, high berm turns, and lots of new single track trail through the big timber areas. The next two sections were back to back technical single track trail, with creek crossings, creek beds, off cambers, open grass connectors, big timbers, and plenty of up and down hill trail. In between these two sections was the awesome Sidling Hill Creek crossing, a favorite spectator point on the loop. Section seven was a shorter section, with some of the best trail in the event. A rollercoaster of up and down single track trail through the woods, ending with a mini grass track and the gas stop layover. The last two sections of the day were back to back rocky sections, connected by a four mile road ride. Section eight was wider, more rocky trail, with high speed grass trails towards the end, and section nine, the last section of the day started with an awesome 1.5 mile ISDE style grass track, leading into the woods, up to the higher elevations and rocks and back down on some fantastic single track action. The finish was back at the Three Springs

Fire Hall, where the fire department had a great beef stew lunch, drinks, and deserts waiting for the riders. This course had plenty of speed changes, and few tricky check points. The GMER club kept you thinking all day long, as this was indeed a true classic time keeping Enduro event. GMER Trail Boss, Andrew Tsakanikas did a masterful job setting up this event and making sure everything went perfect. The event was round 11 in the East Coast Enduro Association Series, (ECEA) and round 7 in the Appalachian Championship Enduro Series, (ACES). There were 213 riders in the event, a record turn-out so far for the GMER club in Three Springs. Comprehensively, this was first class, classic Enduro event with miles of awesome trail and great support. ACES rider Broc Hepler was the Overall Grand Champion of the event, dropping just 14 points on the day, with second, third, and fourth places being separated by just seconds, with Kyle McDonal taking second at 16/55, Jarrett Mohn third at 16/57, and ECEA favorite Jeffery Pasqua taking 4th overall at 16/73. Brian Searfoss was 5th, followed by ACES rider Brian Melik in 6th, Tim Nienow at 7th, Jarod Kulp at 8th, Jake Walters in 9th, and Eric Kriberney taking 10th overall, dropping 22 points on the day. All in all, a great day of Enduro competition. The town of Three Springs is a special place and they really support this event. The Three Springs Fire Department is the heart of the event, providing a great fire hall for sign-up, awards, meals, and headquarters for the event

all weekend. They also do the road crossings, gas stop support with one of their engine companies, and provide overall support for the weekend. Chief Dave Grace and his crew are a huge asset to the event. The Lions Club, and the Borough of Three Springs are great supporters as well, providing the town pool, outdoor music pavilion, and great food all weekend. The GMER club had over 50 members working the event, and many locals helping out as well throughout weekend. This was indeed a huge team effort by the GMER club, providing 18 check locations during the 70 mile event, quick accurate scoring, and very nice awards. Many thanks to all who helped out on this event, with special thanks to the Three Springs Fire Department, the Borough of Three Springs, the Three Springs Lions Club, all the landowners, the Pennsylvania State Police, and event sponsors JT Motorsports, Moose Racing, MSR, KLIM, CYCLEMAX, and Pivot Works. Also to the GMER members who put countless hours into course preparation, and making sure that the 2015 riders were treated to a first class event. It was a huge success with 22 student earning motorcycle and ATV Safety Certification. On Saturday PaOHV had one DCNR Youth Training Class and two Adult ASI Classes. Then Sunday PaOHV had another DCNR Youth Training Class and taught two MSF Dirt Bike Classes. This was made possible with the help of Trainers George Fetterman, Dennis Felty, Alain Kaleway, and Denny Mann plus support staff of Jim Balsley, Bob Conner, Eric Bruggeman and Krista Donbaugh. These great volunteers joined together with our sponsors to train 22 students in this two days epic event @ AOAA. The AOAA facility is in Northumberland County, a 6,500 acre motorized and non-motorized recreation park. AOAA’ s welcome center is located at 4100 State Route 125, Coal Township Pennsylvania, 17866-7806. This facility is a great place to learn and ride with staff trainer George Fetterman. George is an ASI and DCNR ATV Trainer who offers classes all year long. PaOHV Safety Weekend was about promoting The Rules of the Trail. The first step towards safe ATV and Dirt Bike riding is taking a certified rider course and then practicing the rider ethics while having fun on a dirt bike or ATV.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “All-Terrain Vehicles may present a risk of death or severe injury in certain circumstances.” Over 3500 people, including many children, have died in accidents associated with ATV’s since 2004. Many people have become severely paralyzed or suffered severe injuries as a result of accidents associated with OHV’s. Every month thousands of people are treated in hospital emergency rooms for injuries received while riding an OHV. Accidents occur for many reasons. Children under the age of 8 or over age 16 are not eligible to receive the certificate, but if your rider is between the ages of 8 and 16 they are eligible to take the course and receive the certificate. Proper safety gear and safe machine are required to take the course. By contacting your local instructor, you can receive all the information you need to ensure your child has the proper gear to complete this course. Completing the course and receiving the certificate provides the knowledge and skill to operate the machines in various manners necessary to ride trails with confidence, not to mention that most children think its really cool to get their “license” in the mail!

Registration, Titling and Insuring Your ATV Who must register and title?

All ATVs in Pennsylvania, except ATVs used solely for business or agricultural purposes, need to be registered and titled with DCNR. ATVs used in Pennsylvania must be registered and titled with DCNR’s Snowmobile/ATV Section. The ATV registration and titling fees are NOT user fees for the privilege of using trails on state-owned land. The fees provide funding to administer the program, maintain trails in DCNR-managed parks and forests, and provide grants to profit and non-profit organizations for developing additional riding opportunities.

Two Types of Registrations Apply: • Registration

For ATVS used anywhere off of your own property or property leased by you, such as designated State Forest trails. $20 fee every two years

• Limited Registration

For ATVs used solely on your own land or land leased by you. Free registration No expiration, unless ownership of vehicle changes.

Plates and Decals

An ATV owner will be issued a registration plate for the vehicle. An expiration sticker to be affixed to the plate will be issued for standard registrations.

Liability Insurance

If you are using your ATV solely on land owned or leased by you, you are not required to get liability insurance. All other riders must carry liability insurance. Proof of that insurance must be carried with you when you ride. There are no minimum requirements or coverage standards established by DCNR or the Snowmobile/ATV Law for the liability insurance.

Summer Trails

These summer season runs from the Friday before Memorial Day through the last full weekend in September. The winter season runs from the day following the last day of the regular or extended antlerless deer season as established by the Game Commission through the following April 1. There are some trails that remain closed until after the late muzzleloader season. Please check the forest district web pages for current access advisories on when trails open for the winter season. _______________________________________

1 Pike County - Burnt Mills- 7 miles of summer and winter trail. Access is from a parking area on Route 402 one mile south of Porters Lake. Registered Class II ATV’s are permitted on this trail that are less than 58” in width and less than 1,200 pounds. Contact: Delaware State Forest, 2174A Route 611, Swiftwater, PA 18370-7746 Phone: (570) 895-4000 _______________________________________ 2 Adams & Cumberland Counties - 36 miles of summer trail. During the winter season the trail system is expanded to 42 miles by using some dirt roads that are gated during the winter. Part of the trail system is shared with snowmobiles when there is sufficient snowfall. The trail is located between Big Flat and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Access to these are from parking lots located at Big Flat along Shippensburg Road about 1-1/4 miles north of its intersection with Route 233 and on Piney Mountain along Bendersville Road south of Pine Grove Furnace State Park. ATV trail season runs from the Friday before Memorial Day through the last Sunday in September. Winter season is from December 20 to April 1. Club News On August 15, 2015 the Anthracite Trail Riders (ATR) had a mega day. Upcoming Trail Summit - Tour of ANF’s Motorized Trails and Meet its Land Managers September 20, 2015 9am – 2pm The PA Trails Advisory Committee invites all trail users interested in the Allegheny National Forest’s (ANF) motorized trails to tour the system by ATV, side-by-side or motorcycle and meet the Federal and State Land Managers on the trail system. The purpose of this mobile workshop is to view the latest improvements on this federal trail system that exhibit current Best Management Practices in trail design. Separately, trail groups, users and land managers will engage in an open discussion on the needs, wants and legal requirements of motorized managers trails in PA, on both public and private lands. Attendees will take away a better understanding for challenges the land deal with on a daily basis and the land managers will learn the current goals of trail users. Participants will meet at the ANF’s District Office in Marienville, PA, with their off-highway vehicle. The workshop is the cost of an ANF trail riding day pass or annual pass. The workshop is limited to forty participants. Pre-registration is required for the “Tour the ANF’s Motorized Trails and Meet Its Land Manager”. Contact the PRPS office at 814-234-4272 to register. Anyone wishing to participate will need to bring their own ATV, side-by-side or dirt bike to ride the trails. Participants will be required to purchase a day pass for $10.00 or an annual pass can be acquired for $35.00. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00am, Sunday September 20, 2015 at the Marienville Ranger District Office, 131 Smokey Lane, Marienville, PA 16239.

Good Intent ATV Run - Llewelyn, Pa August 1, 2015 The Good Intent Hose Company ran their annual fundraiser in early August. Brapp attended the Friday night before the event but unfortunately had a double booking this weekend and couldn’t stay to do the ride. As normal they were at full capacity as this seems to be a central Pa crowd favorite. The event as I mentioned supports the local emergency services and allows riders to hit the trails on private lands for a full day of riding. Watch our pages next spring as we start to talk about this must attend event.

Rock Run Summer Blast - Rock Run Recreation Area Patton, Pa. Aug. 6-9, 2015 Brapp Mag attended Rock Runs Summer Blast back in August along with over 1000 off road enthusiasts to partake in their annual celebration. Riders have access to four days of riding on over 6000 acres of land here and camping is available. The event is host to their obstacle course competition, vendors offering products, services and new vehicle test rides as well as great food and live entertainment.

The PA OHV is also a yearly participant and this year brought along their off road safety simulator. Here riders can get the feel for how to operate their ATV in different riding situations and below Eric Bruggeman of the PA OHV helps a young rider better understand the importance of ATV Safety while out on the trail.

It started out at 10:00 AM with a ride on the Western Reserve of the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) property which is only open for special events at this time. The group was led by Joe Konas and included 11 machines with 14 people. We stopped at the Whale Back, and then at Mud Road where several people played in the mud, only one had to be pulled out, then to Heart Lake for lunch beside the lake. The ride on the west side was approximately 22 miles, some had more but they were in the mud spinning a lot. After returning to the visitor center to use the bathrooms and get cold drinks and fuel, Jim Balsley led the group on the Eastern Reserve. We rode the Yamaha trail which is about 16 miles. It has a nice mix of rocks, mud, hills & flat trails and pretty views. After returning to the visitor center the ATR held it’s monthly meeting and provided pizza and soda to all. At 7:30 the group led by Dave Crowl did a night ride that lasted until 10:00 PM and was 21 miles long on the east side. The total for the day was a little over 59 miles of riding. Our next event is September 12 when we will co-host with AOAA a benefit ride for Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger Janet Weis Children Hospital on the AOAA grounds. This ride will be 25+ miles, ATV, UTV, dirt bikes & dual sport operators are invited to participate. Check us out on face book for all of the details of this ride. Also consider joining ATR to go along on our rides and events. We have setup a separate face book page just for members, so if you are looking for someone to ride with, this will be a place to meet people.

Pleasure Valley Raceway MDRA - Round # 9 Aug. 16, 2015 By: Brapp Mag

In mid-August we traveled west for the annual MDRA vs PAMX Shootout at PVR. It was a hot 95 degree day but the sun was shining and the racers were there. Jeff Cernic and his crew had the track in tip top shape and the racing was just as hot as the day.

brother Ryan grabbing the win in 65cc B racing action. Mason Tucker would be the kid to beat on the day taking home two 50cc class wins and a 65 C division win. We also saw Vincent Luhovey who had a top five supermini finish at Loretta’s return home and jump into the 250 B class to take the win. Kudo’s to Luhovey for jumping right to the amateur division rather than taking the C class route as so many due. I think it takes guts and character and will benefit him in the long run.

Expert divisions saw intense battles between home town favorite Dylan Slusser and MDRA racer Jarek Balkovic. The two would bang bars all day with Slusser coming out on top with the home track edge. Balkovic did manage two moto wins on the day but couldn’t put the right combination together to land an O/A. In the expert age divisions Gaylon Dickson and Jeremy Cook both continue to dominate in their appropriate age brackets. I think both of these guys are getting faster as the years wear on.

I hyperextended my knee in a race in June last year which damaged an artery in the back of my left knee, tore everything in my knee, and stretched the nerve that allows you to lift your foot. I had 4 surgeries, 11 months of physical therapy, and 92 staples in my leg and I’m still dealing with drop foot today. I didn’t even plan on trying to qualify for Lorettas this year which is why my finish was such a huge accomplishment for me.

Then it was the Oak Hill National where I got my first national title in the girls class. Then Freestone where I finished 3rd in both women’s and girls classes. Then it was area and regional qualifiers for LL , with all that done it was time to train for my trip to Vernun France where I got the opportunity to represent USA at a very prestigious race call MX Master Kids Championship where more than 26 countries go there to race and become a world champion as a team. It’s something like MXON for kids, team USA came back home with a big win .

Mountain Fest A Family Event Monster Moto Enterprises Mountain Ridge ATV Park July 23-26, 2015 Brapp Mag headed west in late July to visit the beautiful Mountain Ridge ATV Park for the first ever Mountain Fest. This event got off to a late start on the promotion side of things but still had a fair turnout no doubt. This four day event offered everything from vendors and games to mud pit and drag racing competitions along with night rides under the windmills and of course access to Mountain Ridges trail system which covers over 100 miles of trails on 2500 plus acres. No matter what you ride there was something there for everyone. Bikes, ATVâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s and Side by Sides were all welcome and it seems everyone had a great time. Brapp arrived just in time for some wide open dirt drag racing on Friday evening with the majority of riders rolling in for the weekend. Hello Brapp Fans, This is Zach Camp your Doublin Gap Track Chaplain. I am excited to see Jim Bull launching a new magazine and would like to congratulate him in doing so! DOES THE LORD JESUS CARE ABOUT YOUR RACING? I finished up my 17 year race career in the 250 A and 25 plus class and I enjoyed every minute of it. One weekend I was talking to my mom about racing and she said, we should pray for favor and guidance on the race track from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was only on an 80cc bike at the time and about 13 years old. That day I was taking the same main rut all day around the long blind turn on the pound section at Doublin. On this lap I hear in my mind, take the outside this time, so I did and to my excitement there was a three rider pile up in the main rut. Another time as I was approaching a blind step up and I heard a sound that said jump and I was able to avoid a downed rider just on the other side. John 14:16-17 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. In this same book of the Bible (John) Jesus tells the Disciples it’s better that he leave to heaven rather than stay so he can send the Holy Spirit in his place. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He is much lighter than Jesus sitting on the back of your bike telling you which way to turn. Lol You see, Jesus can go with you and talk to you anywhere through the Holy Spirit If you’re a follower of Jesus invite the Holy Spirit to fill your spirit, to guide you and to bring Gods good word to your memory.

This event used to go down every 4th of July weekend at Doublin Gap and attracted racers from all over the Northeast. It returns after a few year hiatus and promises to bring some big names to town. Motocross for Christ Camp Evansville MX Aug. 16-19, 2015

Over 60 children and an army of volunteers gathered in Jesus’ name at the second camp for this organization in 2015 at the Evansville Motocross facility in mid-August. This ministry now approaching close to ten years offers free camps each year to riders and racers in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. At camp, attendees learn either basic or advanced riding skills taught by local trainers at their current riding levels. Local racers both amateur and former pros alike come out to help teach the kids better riding skills. In addition, campers learn faith based lessons, do service projects, enjoy great time together, hear great testimonies how Christ has affected others lives and in general learn life skills that give them a jumpstart in life. I’ve attended these camps since its early inception and I’ve seen the difference it’s made in many people’s lives. Motocross for Christ is a 503c non-profit organization and runs its camps on donations of others that want to help make a difference. 4th Annual White Rose Thunder - Upcoming Event All-Star Weekend - York, Pa Randy Texter Memorial Race and H-D Open House Saturday September 26th the 4th Annual White Rose Thunder Randy Texter Memorial Race and Ride in Bike Show put on by Steve Nace Productions comes to the York, Pa Expo Center. Come watch AMA Pro Racers tackle the famed York half mile circuit. Racing has gone down here for decades and the fastest riders in the country return here year after year to do battle on this famous half mile track.

Sunday riders head to the class A Pro AMA Hillclimb put on by the White Rose Motorcycle Club in Jefferson, Pa. Gates open around 10:00am with the event starting at 1:00pm. Riders have been racing up this 300 foot hill for over a half of century on their nitro burning bikes. Make sure you stick around to catch this kick butt event before pointing your rides back to wherever home may be.

In late August we made our return to the Sleepy Hollow Motocross Park in Fredericksburg, Pa. It was a gorgeous summer day with bright skies and mild temps for the usually scorching summer heat of August. We arrived just as practice was ending up which gave us a little time to check out the track changes since we had been here last. First off the gate on this day would be the Vet racers. Some of these guys have been around it seems like forever now. It actually makes me a little proud to see how fast some of these guys still are. Just goes to show that the competition has always been red hot in our area to keep these guys honed like they are. The day progressed and the track held up great. Lines were forming and the dust was minimal for a late summer race. The classes clicked off without a hitch and the racing was tight in many divisions. From experts to minis the racers of District 6 put on a great show for all. Faces in Brapp Mag - TEAM BOSCHERT RACING We’ve seen this family of racers at tracks and awards banquets over the years but could never figure out, who was who. So we thought it would be a great idea to get some clarity. I’m still not sure if we know much more - but here’s the scoop.

Below are a few bios and pics of the ones we could round up, I think they are a pretty rowdy and happy bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts. Lol

The riders in this fun-loving group consist of three brothers, Bill, Mark and Tom Boschert. Along with several of their children, Chris, Brandon and Hope Boschert and Josh and Heather Boschert. Cousins (Daniel and Joseph Peloquin) are up and comers in the 50 and 65 classes and there are also several honorary members of the team (LeeAnn Bange, Linzie Dente and Jed Haines to name a few).

The founding members of the team used to be together at an MX track most weekends as the boys were working their way through the C class. As they matured (I don’t believe the founding members will ever do that!) and started families, they have drifted away from championship competition and have started families of their own. Tom is currently competing in the Masters of Motocross series. Chris is currently in the Navy living with his young family out in Washington State, he has recently started to get his son Aiden into dirt bikes. Hope was competing in the Masters series with her dad as well, but a soil sample at Doublin Gap resulted in a fractured fibula and torn acl/mcl. This year Rich is mostly participating in the closest MX races to his home after a a/c or shoulder separation left him off the bike for part of last year. Heather had won the 2013 MDRA7 Women’s class championship; she had also graduated college that year and started her first “real” job. Because of working more she rode less in 2014, but she managed to talk her dad (Rich) and boyfriend (Jed Haines) into a trip to Pleasure Valley Raceway because it is her favorite track. Well, that race day landed her with her first ambulance ride and a broken collarbone, broken c7 & t1 vertebrae wing, concussion, and bruised lung. After a surgery to plate the blown up collarbone and 6 months of healing she was cleared, but now is dealing with the mental hurdle of having broken her neck and collarbone. Josh has started to get back into the racing scene now that his son Jeremy has shown a major interest in racing. Bill is still recovering from a foot injury from 2013 and plans on returning to the Masters series once fully healed. Per usual a moto family comes with a lot of injuries, should probably have a contest to see who has the coolest scar! Uncle Mark was a great Flat Track racer and the one who had the most potential to go Pro. Brandon, who also has a young son, Chase who is 2 years old and absolutely loves anything with 2 wheels and a motor. They most enjoy when the stars align and a bunch of them can all get together again at the races or at family ride weekends. Actually, it doesn’t even have to be races, they just like it whenever they can get together!
