Course Overview: Developed in line with the latest IET Code of Practice, this course focuses on the formal inspection, testing and recording of electrical equipment, with special regard for portable appliance testing. Using hands-on, practical tuition, it gives you the skills to meet typical contemporary challenges and prepares you for the City & Guilds 2377-22 examination. You also have the option to take the City & Guilds 2377-32 examination (at an extra cost).

City & Guilds 2391-50 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

The Electricity at Work Regulations requires electrical installations to be maintained so as not to give rise to danger. One common method of meeting this requirement is to carry out a periodic inspection and test of an electrical installation and report on its condition. This 4-day City & Guilds level 3 course is aimed at personnel who wish to carry out inspection and testing of existing electrical installations. It is also relevant to anyone who commissions or receives reports on the condition of electrical installations. The course covers the latest requirements of BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations and is relevant to single and three phase installations, domestic, commercial and industrial installations.

An inspection and test of this work must be carried out to confirm it is safe to be put into service. Assessment methods include a practical inspection and test on a simulated installation (initial verification), a short-written examination and an open book online multiple-choice exam consisting of 40 questions.

The aim of these courses is to bring candidates into line with accepted Codes of Practice approved by the Health and Safety Commission and regulations covered by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Sections 2 and 16.

This half day course fully complies with your responsibilities under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and is the ideal training course to ensure that individuals who have not yet received training in the mounting and changing of abrasive products, satisfy your legal requirement for competent people.

AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting - Level 2 Chamber members - £995 + VAT Non-Chamber members - £1200 + VAT This course is an ideal starting point for a school leaver, someone returning to the workplace, or someone who has not studied for a while. Delegates do not need to be working in an accounts role to be able to work towards this qualification. AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting - Level 3 Chamber members - £1395 + VAT Non-Chamber members - £1500 + VAT This course is ideal for someone who works in an accounting role who wishes to gain recognition for their skills or for someone who is processing up through the AAT suite of qualifications and has achieved the AAT Certificate in Accounting. Alternatively, delegates can enter direct at this level based on previous work experience. This level is designed for those who have no prior experience or qualification in accounting and want to work towards Chartered level studies with the same awarding body. The Certificate is made up of five modules. CIMA Professional Qualification - Operational Level Chamber members - £650 + VAT Non-Chamber members - £750 + VAT This is the first level working towards Chartered Status and provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to be able to prepare financial statement, provide management accounting information, and use appropriate tool for decision making through a broad understanding of business. The Operational Level is made up of three modules. In order to enter at the Operational Level, delegates must have either achieved the CIMA Diploma in Business Accounting or received exemption from the Certificate through prior achievement of equivalent qualifications such as AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Level 4. The Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid (QCF) course is aimed at individuals who want to gain an overview of basic First Aid procedures. This course is also suitable for people who are acting as Appointed Persons at work.

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) course complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Please note that this course is not suitable for people who have been designated First Aiders at Work under Health and Safety regulations, these individuals should instead attend the First Aid at Work three-day course. This course gives a basic understanding of some essential First Aid procedures and will enable individuals to recognise and treat some major injuries and illnesses. This course now covers the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Re-qualification (QCF)

The First Aid at Work course gives First Aiders the essential knowledge and skills that they need to carry out their role and deal confidently with major and minor injuries and illnesses. It is suitable for any person who has been designated as a First Aider at work. Subjects covered include: the duties of employers and the legal framework, action in an emergency, treating an unconscious casualty or a casualty who is bleeding or wounded, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), injuries to bones and muscles, burns and scalds, poisoning, choking, recognising both minor and major illnesses, managing the transport of casualties, Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings.

Course Overview: The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Re-qualification) (QCF) course complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is aimed at First Aiders who hold a current threeyear First Aid at Work certificate, but who are near the expiry date. First Aiders may attend this course up to three months before their certificate expires and up to one month after expiry of the certificate.

This course is suitable for day nursery staff, nannies, teachers, parents and anyone working with children. Following the recent change in legislation, in the Autumn of 2016 it will be compulsory for all new nursery and preschool staff to undertake paediatric first aid training. This Ofqual Accredited Level 3 Award in Paediatric First aid meets these requirements.

The candidate should be confident to take their ACS test and be practicing the majority of the content within their normal job role. For information on initial ACS training please contact us directly. ACS renewal programme: Day 1 – Bespoke Training in small groups to prepare you for your test. This includes reminder of the ACS processes for testing, refresher training on gas regulations and hands on training on appliances. Day 2 – Core (CCN1) assessment. Written and practical tests. Copy certificates will be charged an administration fee of £50 + VAT ACCREDITATION Accreditation is governed by accrediting bodies and Chamber Skills Solutions can take no responsibility for candidates failing to meet accreditation requirements or for any other matter relating to accreditation criteria. TRANSFERRING DELEGATES Chamber Skills Solutions reserves the right to charge the following: • •

Less than 4 weeks’ notice up to £35 + VAT Less than 2 weeks’ notice up to £50 + VAT

If this transfer is then cancelled and/or the delegate fails to attend, then the full fee remains payable. CANCELLING COURSES Cancellations to bookings made before the start of the course are subject to the costing table outlined below. CANCELLATION OF THE COURSE BY CHAMBER SKILLS SOLUTIONS We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time without liability. In the unlikely event of this happening delegates would be offered an alternative date, course or a full refund. We reserve the right to alter course contents without prior notice as all of our courses are constantly updated to maintain a high standard of quality.
