Memorial Day posters available for download SAN ANTONIO (AFPN) -- Memorial Day honors men and women who have died during military service to the United States. To show respect to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, two posters are available for download and display. The first poster shows a joint-service honor guard carrying a flag-draped coffin with an illustration of the Airmen's Memorial in the background. The second poster features a grave marker at Arlington National Cemetery. A mourner has placed flowers on the grave to honor the fallen servicemember. "I chose a joint honor guard for one poster because it represents all services and Memorial Day is for everyone," said Virginia Reyes, the designer of the series. The work on the posters was more than just another job for Ms. Reyes, it was a way for her to show her appreciation for all of the men and women in uniform. "Thank you for your service and for our freedom," she said. To download the posters go to www.af.mil/art and select posters on the right side of the page.

Brevard Soccer Alliance is joining the
Titusville Soccer Club to help collect used soccer equipment for Fr. Leonard Kayondo, a priest from Rwanda. The people of his village LOVE soccer. He speaks so often about how everyone in his village loves soccer even though they hardly have any equipment to use. Soccer balls are hard to come by-usually they use wadded up pieces of paper tied together with string. Most of them play in bare feet. If the team is lucky enough to have a pair of shoes, the members share the shoes—one person plays for a certain amount of time and then removes the shoes and gives them to another person to play. The village would be thrilled with your used soccer cleats, socks, shin guards, or soccer balls. Any size cleats are welcome. If any teams have full team uniform sets that are being replaced, a collection of the entire team’s used uniforms would be awesome.

How to Avoid “Gotcha!” HOA Scenarios Handled correctly, HOAs preserve the value of your home. But dealing with one can sometimes be the opposite of smooth sailing: here are 6 ways to steer clear of potential pitfalls. Most people have a love-hate relationship with their homeowners’ association, or HOA. There are definitely benefits to having one, but there can be some big negatives as well. It’s key to know how to make your HOA work for you — and when you should avoid buying into a neighborhood that has one. Here are six possible “gotcha” scenarios you should look out for when selling or buying a home with an HOA. 1. An investor’s “gotcha”: Renting is against HOA rules My Georgia neighborhood’s HOA restricts the number of homes that can be used for rental investment property to 10%. That’s good for me: Most people in the neighborhood are owners who are invested in their homes’ upkeep. But when I buy investment property in an HOA neighborhood, I make sure the HOA puts no restrictions on how many homes can be rentals. If you buy investment property in an HOA neighborhood, find out what the covenants, conditions, and restrictions, also called the CC&Rs, say about this. If the HOA restricts or forbids rentals and you bought the property with the intent to rent, you could be out of luck. 2. The lender “gotcha”: The HOA has financial difficulties If you want to sell, you need to know whether your HOA is solvent.
