P ROJE C T D E SC R I P T I O N Continuing a long-standing relationship with The Maryland Club, SM+P was hired to lead the renovation and expansion of their historic squash and fitness facilities. We began with multiple programming sessions to determine the complex needs and goals of the club. The project consisted of a 7,800sf modern addition to expand their lacking fitness facilities, including the creation of two new squash courts. This resulted in the only known squash club in the US to have 3 world-class doubles courts surrounding a full-service bar and lounge. Additionally, the project scope included adding new locker/shower facilities, squash pro shop, mechanical systems, as well as recladding the entire squash and fitness facility to create a modern juxtaposition between the addition and the adjacent circa 1892 clubhouse.
