P ROJE C T D E SC R I P T I O N SM+P was retained to reimagine the existing under-utilized lounge and bar located just off the main foyer of the historic Maryland Club. The goal of the project was to maintain as much of the historic charm the club is known for, while tastefully identifying opportunities for the introduction of modern elements, fixtures, and furnishings. The transformation was part of an ongoing effort within the club to attract a younger, more vibrant crowd, that enjoys a more casual and social experience. By providing a more welcoming experince, the new full-service restaurant looks to serve members, family, and friends, and hopefully increasing memberships. Along with full design services, SM+P specified and coordinated all furniture and decorative elements as well as curated art selections from the club’s existing collections.
