FAIRY TRAILS

FAIRY TRAILS AND FAIRY GARDENS

THE ENCHANTED FOREST Start your fairy fun at the Enchanted Forest playground, located at Dorrington Park at Ashgrove. Climb on the spiders’ webs, make music on the magical toadstools, and picnic in the leafy parklands. There is a new skate park not far from the playground, making this the perfect outing when you have kids of different ages. You can grab a bite to eat and a coffee at Famished on Frasers, or some gluten-free goodies at Marché du Macaron, which are each a short walk from the playground. KUMBARTCHO SANCTUARY Kumbartcho Sanctuary at Eatons Hill is a community nursery featuring a fenced playground and short nature walks. They often have free activities running throughout the school holidays which are promoted through their Facebook Page. Their fairy garden is at the end of a short forest walk with lots of ornaments and fairy paraphernalia to help set the scene. Write and post a letter to the fairies in the fairy mail box, sit and enjoy the peaceful surrounds, or even take a picnic to enjoy next to the playground. THE GOLLUM TREE The Gollum Tree at Scarborough Beach, is worth checking out if you happen to be over in the Redcliffe Peninsula area. The tree itself is located within Scarborough Beach Park, which is a fenced seaside playground featuring Cottonwood trees that are some of Brisbane’s best climbing trees for kids. Head to Redcliffe on a Sunday and you can enjoy their markets from 8am-noon.
