Welcome to Brisbane Comedy Festival 2017 Comedy is the blues for people who can't sing. Brisbane Comedy Festival is bigger than ever! It's so big, that we have an exciting second hub at Brisbane City Hall, with 13 comedians taking the various stages. And it's not just the comedians taking over the city. We have invited Brisbane's best food vendors to serve up international delights in King George Square, as well as some free debates to amuse you while you're munching on your supper. The 2017 program is bursting at the seams with over 60 comedians so much funnier than we could ever attempt to be. I mean, we’ve tried to be funny, but it’s hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things, literally. The Festival kicks off once again with the Brisbane Comedy Festival Gala at Brisbane City Hall. The Festival continues throughout March with outstanding international comedians, as well as our favourite national and local laugh-makers. A special thanks to The Comedy Channel, our presenting partner for Brisbane Comedy Festival. This is the third year they have supported the festival and we have enjoyed sharing so many laughs with them. In 1996, Sammy J borrowed some Phantom comics from his school gardener. That moment set off a chain of events that led to the birth of his daughter, saw him committing a crime in Canberra, and ended with a federal policeman searching his attic.
