GUDIRR GUDIRR Marrugeku (Australia/Belgium) Conceptualised, co-choreographed & performed by Dalisa Pigram. Directed & co-choreographed by Koen Augustijnen. Set design & video by Vernon Ah Kee. Dramaturgy by Rachael Swain.
Fresh from a season in London, Gudirr Gudirr brings the personal and the political to life. Gudirr Gudirr is the Yawuru word for the wader bird which sounds a warning when the tides change. Pigram’s movement draws on her work with Yawuru, Malay and Japanese elders of Broome. With it, she creates a bold new piece about the issues facing Indigenous Australians today. The breakout hit of Dance Massive, Gudirr Gudirr is “An excellent piece

AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE Il Pixel Rosso (UK) By Silvia Mercuriali & Simon Wilkinson
Put on your video goggles and headphones then enter the world of the circus as a daredevil highflying trapeze artist. The Great Spavaldos brothers were fearless circus folk, famous for performing without a safety net. Their disappearance has been shrouded in mystery and legend – until now. Through a mixture of theatre and cinema you will ‘see’ the anarchic circus world; ‘hear’ and ‘speak’ to mysterious characters; and ‘feel’ what it’s like to fly 60 feet above the ground. The Great Spavaldos is an immersive theatrical experience designed for two people at a time. Created by Il Pixel Rosso, it’s the follow up to their sold-out show And The Birds Fell From The Sky, which wowed audiences at WTF 2012.
