Meridian Technology Center broke ground on its Stillwater campus nearly 50 years ago. A lot has changed since then but our mission remains the same – to educate, enrich lives and secure economic futures.

By the end you will be more knowledgeable about onsite wastewater systems, know what the homeowners’ rights and responsibilities are and be able to identify possible barriers buyers may face with future plans. With over 100 million tenants renting throughout the United States, understanding your rights and responsibilities as a landlord and as a tenant is critical. This class is taught by a lawyer who manages his own rental properties. This training program is a blended format of online content with in-class activities to prepare students for the vast variety of encounters with computers and networks. CompTIA A+ is broken into three components: basic, intermediate, and advanced. Basic CompTIA A+ enlightens the students to the basic hardware of the computer. Intermediate focuses on building from where Basic left off with the system software, application software and maintaining a computer with troubleshooting. Photography: Light Painting
This is an advanced photography course designed for photographers who want to learn to take photographs of a subject or scene in total darkness and paint the scene with the introduction of artificial light source. Topics include light painting objects, light painting scenes, light painting people, light painting astrophotography, and others. Participants will learn camera settings, camera technique, and compositional considerations that will assist participants in recording light painted images. Participants will be introduced to various specialized equipment for light painting, including flashlights and other artificial light sources. Homework will be assigned each week, with the photographs being critiqued in class to help participants improve their photographic skills. $99

This course is designed for entry-level people who want to learn the basics of photography and their camera’s capabilities. Learn a variety of shooting options, as well as which shooting option is best for a given situation. Topics include aperture priority, shutter speed priority, and manual shooting mode. Elements of exposure, depth of field, and many other facets of photography will also be taught. $120

This course is designed to help photographers shoot with little to no light. Learn a technique called light painting in which participants create images at night that resemble those shot in the daytime. This course is designed specifically for photographers that want to use Photoshop for post-processing their images. Learn tools, workspace basics, white balance, contrast, hue, and saturation as well as image sharpening or blurring. Topics include working in layers, image stacking, focus-stacking and manipulating images to remove or add things. Participants will be provided access to a computer and Photoshop software so they can follow along in class and work on images to get hands-on practice. $99

This course is designed for photographers who want to learn to take photographs in a studio environment. Participants will be introduced to a variety of studio lighting equipment and light modifiers used to create stunning images. Participants will be introduced to studio lighting techniques which include the top ten lighting techniques currently used by professionals. Participants will work with studio equipment in class and have an opportunity to determine what lighting technique and equipment works best to create various moods and interpretations of an image. $70

Part 107 Prep and Drone Flight Basics
This course is designed to prepare operators for the Part 107 exam of the sUAS Rule, which allows commercial drone use without a Section 333 exemption or a manned aircraft pilot’s license. The course features a classroom lecture over materials and a practice exam to prepare for the FAA certification test. $200

Teaches new operators everything they need to know to be confident in UAV launching, flying and landing safely. Topics include introduction to photography and an overview of rules for recreational and commercial use. This course includes classroom time as well as hands-on flying. This course will not prep you for the Part 107 exam. $125
Part 107 Commercial Pilot Training
This course is designed to prepare operators for the Part 107 exam of the sUAS Rule, which allows commercial drone use without a Section 333 exemption or a manned aircraft pilot’s license. The twelve-hour course features a classroom lecture on materials and a practice exam to prepare for the FAA certification test. $175
Off Highway vehicles, OHV, are very useful pieces of equipment. Participants will learn to safely set-up and operate OHVs. $59
The course meets the requirements by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 10-hour certification for general industry. Topics include Introduction to OSHA, walking and working surfaces, exit routes, emergency action plans, fire prevention plans, fire protection, PPE, hazard communications and various other occupational hazards possible in the workplace. Upon successful completion participants will receive an OSHA 10 General Industry Card. $120
This course provides the mandatory training required to take the unarmed security guard licensing test administered by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET). Basic private security knowledge and procedures are taught. No certification is earned, but the certificate of completion will allow the participant to sit for the licensing test. Test is administered at Meridian Technology Center on Monday evenings as well as other approved locations statewide. Call for a testing appointment. $250
Private Investigator: Phase 3
This course provides the mandatory training required to take the private investigator security guard licensing test administered by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET). Basic private investigation is taught. No certification is earned, but the certificate of completion will allow the participant to sit for the licensing test. $250

Learn the basics of small engines from tuneups to overhauls including operating principles of fuel and ignition systems, mechanical construction, inspection and assembly. Personal projects, with instructor approval, can be brought during the last five nights of class. $250
Considering buying an electric or hybrid vehicle? This course will answer your questions and assist you in making an informed decision. $30
Become familiar with the basics of maintaining your vehicle. With this hands-on course you will learn how to properly care for your vehicle and address simple problems. $35
Are you wanting to get your CDL, either Class A or Class B? This course is the first step to attain that goal. Students will be lead through the CDL manual to prepare for the written test to attain their permit. $85
The defensive driving course is an excellent opportunity for drivers of all ages to learn about the best methods for defensive driving and accident prevention. The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has certified Meridian Technology Center as a sponsoring agency for this six-hour training course. This Oklahoma state certified class will remove 2 points from an Oklahoma driver’s license and may provide a reduction of vehicle insurance premiums. $50

Explore Your Interests at Tech
With 20+ programs to choose from, training at Meridian combines theoretical framework and hands-on skills application. Instructors are experts in their field and industry representatives help shape course content.
Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors
Depending on their high school, students can earn 3 or 4 credits per year. Some of these credits count as electives, some count as academic credits. The Meridian STEM Academy, including preengineering and biomedical sciences, is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. For all other programs, students may attend their junior or senior year. When space is available, sophomores can enroll for afternoon programs. Students attend either a morning or afternoon session. High school students living in the Meridian Technology Center district attend at no cost and should visit with their counselor about applying.
Adults
Adult students can chose from either the morning or afternoon session or attend all day, depending on program availability and their schedule. Tuition for adults and those living outside of the district depends on the specific program. Adults may also be eligible for financial aid through grants and scholarships and should visit with the Financial Aid Officer. Adult students may apply on our website.

Earn college credit while you’re at Meridian. Through a cooperative effort between the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education, college credit toward an associate of applied science degree (A.A.S.) may be available upon completion of a career major. An A.A.S. is a technical workforce degree and is a great path for someone who plans on entering the workforce immediately after earning the degree. College credit is specific to the technical workforce degree and usually does not transfer to a bachelor’s degree.

Business Incubation When You’re Starting a Business Business incubation is a focused process that includes management guidance, technical assistance and consulting for young, growing companies. Residential tenants have access to services and rent dedicated office or lab space for up to three years. Associate tenants have access to our services but do not rent dedicated space. Passing the high school equivalency test or the general education development test is equivalent to earning a high school diploma and can open the door for students applying for a job or seeking further education. Classes are self-paced and offered at no cost. There is a fee to take the exams.

Accessibility
Programs and instructional materials are adapted based on the expressed needs of the student. Students requiring special equipment or arrangements should notify a Meridian Technology Center employee during enrollment.
Short Course Refund Policy
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your enrollment for each class. The deposit guarantees your enrollment and is applied to your tuition. A $50 deposit is required for classes $399 and under. A $100 deposit is required for classes $400 and over. We are happy to refund your deposit if a class is canceled. The balance of tuition is due when the first class meets and is non-refundable. Supplies are not included in tuition, unless otherwise noted. Please be sure to take your projects with you when a class ends. Unforeseen circumstances may cause us to change the date or time of a class.
