MESSAGE
Libraries are America’s most democratic institutions, providing access to information and lifelong learning for everyone. Now more than ever, the public library is a community forum and meeting place to exchange ideas and opinions, a place where we can participate in our democracy by making our voices heard. One way to do so is by voting. Twelve Broward County Library locations are open for Early Voting in March, where you can cast your ballot in the Presidential Primary Preference Election. Starting in April, we can also make our voices heard by participating in the 2020 Census. The Census results affect all of us and it is important for everyone to participate. This year the Census will take place primarily online, and Broward County Library will provide free public-access computers and WiFi to anyone who needs it to complete the Census. Let’s make sure everyone is counted. Express yourself in other ways, too. In addition to voting and the Census, you can speak, listen and learn at one of our “Community Conversations” or “Conversations at the Center” programs. I look forward to seeing you at our first “5K Suit Run” scheduled for April 11, 2020 or hearing your opinion with me at one of my Director’s Book Club Discussions. I encourage you to participate in all our library system has to offer. Make your voice heard at a Broward County Library. We’re here, and we’re listening.
Sincerely, KELVIN
