Message
As summer ends and we get ready for the start of a new season, Broward County Library continues to keep its focus on you. What we do, how we do it – things are different for Broward County Library, as they are everywhere in our community. We’ve gone from working tirelessly to bring you into our locations to serving you from afar, with online events, curbside service, telephone reference and grab-and-go summer meals for kids. We continue to listen, learn and seek innovative ways to serve and support you and your family as we move through this public health crisis. We’re working on new initiatives to tackle workforce development by enhancing lending programs for digital tablets and providing increased access to digital technology in our community. In this issue of our September Online Magazine, you’ll find information on programs, resources and services to inform, entertain, educate and enlighten. A few of our favorite annual signature events, including the Children’s BookFest and Conference on Children’s Literature, have gone online this year, making it easier than ever to attend. Programs such as the Director’s Book Club, Cultural Conversations and our Stand Up Speak Out series tackle issues of diversity and inclusion, while initiatives such as the Broward County Library Social Justice Project provide you the opportunity to be creative and memorialize your experiences for future generations As we move through this challenging time and look forward to what’s next, I want to sincerely thank all of you who continue to use and value your Broward County Library. Know that our library staff is continuing efforts to provide you with twenty-first century library services. Broward County Library will be ready for whatever comes next. As they say, “Why return to normal, when you can return to something better!”
