Summer at Your Library Track Your Reading and Activities: June 1 – August 10, 2019 Broward.org/Library/Summer

A

re you ready to explore “A Universe of Stories” adventure and fun this summer at your library? This summer we’ll be hosting out-of-this-world events for all ages that focus on space, astronomy, science and more! Check out a real-life moon rock at our Main Library, take a trip around the universe via virtual reality demos and enjoy free story times, live performances and shows, art workshops, hands-on programs, presentations, movies, games, S.T.E.A.M. activities and more. Learning and reading over the summer helps prevent summer learning loss in children and teens and builds skills that maintain or improve academic proficiency scores. Adults can read for enjoyment and attend library events while modeling good learning behaviors to children and teens. 2019’s Summer at Your Library features the return of the Florida Panthers’ Summer Reading Tour, which brings pro hometown hockey players to library locations throughout Broward, as well as visits from Foster Grandparents; handson virtual reality events with MERGE Cubes augmented reality gear; and free meals and snacks at participating libraries. All of Broward County Library’s Summer at Your Library events are free and open to the public. •Register for the Broward County Library Summer Learning Program online at Broward.org/Library/Summer or in person at any library location. •Start reading, writing reviews, attending events or completing activities. •Record your information online (powered by Beanstack) or via the Beanstack Tracker App to be eligible for great prizes. The more you participate, the better your chance of winning prizes like local museum and attraction tickets, a mini family Staycation at the Bahia Mar, Playaway Launchpad tablets and Panthers tickets! 4 l
