Minutes for September 28st
Call to Order: 8:00pm Introduction: ● What we do ○ Weekly meetings on Monday’s over Zoom from 8pm to 9pm to participate in service and fellowship activities ○ Collaborate with volunteer organizations on and off campus by providing volunteers Past Events: ● Virtual Ufest: E-board met and answered questions for prospective members ● Circle-K Raffle: Members entered the raffle at our first meeting to win a free Circle-K t-shirt ● VINES: Members spread wood chips at the Liberty Street Community Garden ● Tech Works: Members volunteered by cleaning and moving artifacts in an old abandoned ice cream factory that was converted into a technology museum ● DLSSP: Members attended a district event that included fun fellowship activities, online service events and member development workshops ● Blaze Pizza Fundraiser was a success so thank you to those who went to support the club Upcoming Events: Want to participate in any of the upcoming events? Talk to an e-board member or email circlek@binghamtonsa.edu ● Day of Caring - VINES ○ We volunteer at VINES in downtown Binghamton throughout the semester to assist with cooking and food distribution ● Fundraisers ○ A fundraiser will be held September 29th at Tully’s at Uclub all day ○ Another fundraiser will be held at Chipotle Uclub October 12th from 5pm to 9pm ○ Poster will be sent in the Groupme and in an upcoming email. Please share the event on your social media and with all of your friends! ● Thirst Project Visit ○ Thirst Project is an organization whose mission to bring safe drinking water to communities where it is not readily available ○ Join us on October 12th to hear a presentation by a thirst project warrior ● Professional Development ○ A representative from the Fleishman Center will be coming to visit to give resume and professional development advice on October 5th ● Tech Works ○ Members will be volunteering at a technology museum on October 3rd and 4th ● In the works ○ Broome County park cleanup, City Light Coffee, Become a virtual volunteer tutor Fellowship: ● Fellowship with Calvin: Members played a game called name three words for service Closing Business: ● Dues are $12 and will start to be collected by Mary or Prachi ○ Due by the beginning of November - Venmo is acceptable ○ Guarantees a t-shirt, insurance at club events, and official membership status of CKI ● Looking forward to new Covid-friendly events: ○ Virtual tutoring - sign up in the email ○ District Project: Combatting Covid ○ Governor's Project: Life Necessities ○ International Project: WASH partnered with UNICEF Meeting Adjourned: 9:00pm
